Yeah…the only way to power this thing because it’s so big is with a huge inverter which is then plugged into a AC outlet. This will live underneath the control panel where the button wire work is…out of child’s reach…so no tampering. I did test with battery power…and it does not give it enough juice.
I got it print on Photo Back-Lit paper. I basically sent them my entire spec sheet which included the marquee,command list panel, and the control panel art. it was like 44 bucks plus 12 bucks shipping.This was cheaper than having them print up 3 individual pieces.
got it in like 4 days. I cut out the main shapes by hand…hole punched my screw holes…and when I get the cab…I’ll use the plexi-glass as a guide to cut out my button and joystick holes with a exact o blade.
Cant wait to see yours. If I need to do it by AC Im not sure I am going to do it. I imagine If I light the moveset with another EL panel I will need another AC plug. Even If I did it like you did with Florescent its still 2 plugs. Cant wait to see yours. Which inverter did they sell you?
I bought my LG LD350 today. So I have the 2 most expensive pieces out of the way cabinet and monitor. Now I need to start buying all the small stuff sticks/buttons etc. for the control panel. VGA is the best option for the LD350 in terms of lag? Is the lag little to none via VGA? Just curious as to how “lag free” I can get. I plan on running tourneys at my house and don’t want people bitching lol.
I’m actually using a leather ottaman …seats 2 people…and has plenty of space to store games and junk inside. I know there are some awesome CAPCOM arcade stools out there…but I have yet to find them…those would be sweet.

( I ordered a Vewlix clone from China -Coinopexpress- it’s due on the 26th of this month, and I don’t need 2 cabinets, but I do need a bit of cash for customs and forwarding agent fees and maybe another ps3).
The cab is still in the boxes, and can be loaded into a Honda Civic, it’s a basic two player 8 button vewlix layout with 5 24mm button holes for 2 start/select sets and one for the guide/home button. The brown paper over the plexi for the buttons blends in with the wood, so don’t get scared.
I’m in Northern Va, and willing to deliver to anyone in the area, and willing to entertain offers within reason, trades too. Please shoot me a PM if interested.
I got my order in from Kray on Monday, finally opened it and checked it out, its solid! It’s a lot more solid than I had originally thought. The packing was great, everything came thru without any trouble.
If anyone was on the fence, don’t be, the whole thing, packing, shipping and build quality are all to notch. If I didn’t have another cab on the way, i’d keep this and do it up proper.
True story… I ordered the Tekken 6 clone, because they didnt have any of the vewlix clones, then I ordered the Kray cab, because they still didnt have the vewlix clones, now, my vewlix clone is on its way, and my secret stash for entertainment (aka buying a new car is down to used 1984 civic levels).
I love cabinets, used to work in an arcade, and would love to open a modern style one, similar to UFO someday…
