I’m printing the entire sheet on back-lit film for the way I’m setting mine up.I’m back lighting all of my artwork including the control panel.that is why I chose this type of printing. (The print will cost be about 50 bucks including shipping. I just sent them a 300 dpi version in JPG format)
I’ll then cut up the sections, and wait until I get my cab with plexi and cut the holes out from there using the plexi glass as a guide. I left my KRAY CP guides on for cutting purposes.
I’m not sure how you would want to print yours…perhaps just a good print on thin paper so that light can still come through for your marquee and command list panel. Kind of up to you. You could just get yours printed up at Kinko’s to make it easier for you.
I decided to go old school & went w/ the original Capcom Diamond CPO & Big Blue color theme…Not done w/ the marquee yet…Blue buttons were a lot lighter then i expected but people who seen it seem to like it. Mesh balls look nice too.
I ended up having a few light tweaks here and there that he was doing…the big one that he is delaying the cab for was adding the back/guide button holes on the side of the control panel…kinda of like the silver Mortal Kombat cabinet he posted on his blog.
I can wait another week no problem. I picked up my light fixtures at the hardware store today…found the perfect size of 25 inches with frost covers…should be sweet.
nice choice for your theme. looks really solid…I’m digging the old school flava. Good work man! I can’t wait for people to see what I have cooking…socks will be blown off!
I picked up my Kray cab last week…simply amazing. I had him paint it and it was well worth it. The look and fiberglass feel is absolutely stunning. Kray’s customer service throughout was exceptional, and I would gladly do business with him again. We are lucky to have such a quality builder here in the states. I went with a black and white paint job so I think I will end up getting Vewlix L style art for the CP and plexi’s. I’ll post pics when I finally get all the art pieces on it.
rcaido: That color scheme is genius! It looks fantastic.
As for amping the speakers, I was thinking of something like this:
I’m just looking for something small and cheap to power the couple of speakers. Do any of you tech guys see any reason why this shouldn’t work? Seems perfect for the job to me.
i don’t have a kraylix yet but i’ll pick one up if he decides to make a 23" version for the Evo monitor. few questions, i havent seen any pictures of the cab from the rear, is the back of the base (where you would put the console) exposed? whats the size of the speaker cutout and whats the size of the coin door?
I do get a lot of request for the artwork but I?m just not proficient enough in Photoshop to make them so I asked Dirty_D to help me with it. He is really good with Photoshop.
Here is the updated link to the actual psd file. This will save you some time from creating it from scratch. This file is for the V3 custom two players only.
The movelist for the TE and the V3 custom two players are not the same size so don?t use the movelist for the TE.
Thanks for the offer though…
Racdio Good job! And you make it sound so bad. lol
I saw you asked for just the vewlix logo only. It’s in the psd file just turn off all the unwanted layer.
The bottom cabinet back has a swing door. THe speaker cut out is for 4.5" speaker.
Scroll down to about half way and you should see some photos of the back cabinet. Custom Vewlix: Vewlix Clone Kits
That little pyle amp looks perfect. The only downside I can see is having to use the component cables instead of hdmi like with the ps3. I think you can do it on the 360 though…have to check.
You can set your PS3 to output your audio to the A/V cable. That’s how I have it now. HDMI (video only) to TV, A/V component with RCA to 3.5mm adapter to my Logitech X-240.
