Anyone ever play video games with their parents?

My mum played Tetris a lot, when I was like 3 she worked as a programmer, way back in the day, she learnt to program on paper and they sent it away to get compiled or some shit.

I play a lot of games with my gf’s 5 yr old, he’s getting kinda good now, can do qcfs and charge moves, including ultras/supers
he even beat akuma on ST, and the kof 13 boss (before me even lol )

been a bit hard to get him off Lego stars wars for fighters lately :frowning:

My brothers are the ones who took me to ghetto ass arcades and play SF and MK.

Got me into it, I swear I could pay a semesters tuition with the money I blew on cabinets. Then we bought the SNES and N64. I never beat Vega on the highest difficulty, my brother used Ryu and just d. fp the entire time while throwing hadoukens. That time that kind of shit flew.

My dad wanted to play with me as a kid, and I blew him off because I thought he was just gonna be bad, looking back, I wish I brought him into it, and played with him. I felt like a jerk when I remembered that time. It was Super Smash Brawl on the Gamecube.

I played CVS1, MK2, MVC2, and KOF98 with my dad most of the time.
My mother and I used to play Sonic Adventure 2 a lot back in 8th grade.

My family used to all play tekken bowling from TTT back in the day. It even got to the point I caught my parents practicing with all the different characters to try and tier whore…ah good times.

Me and my dad/brothers would all take turns on those terrible endurance races from GT2. We had shifts on that shit.

I watched my mom almost get into a fight at an arcade over ms pacman. Dont fuck with a black woman’s ms pacman. My dad watched me and my brothers play than play with us a few times he would join in games like family feud contra, gauntlet, etc. My dad was more of a pc gamer he was a monster at unreal tournament and quake.

I remember my (step)dad and i would play fighting games since i was 5. I remember playing mk4 then getting into smash with him after we got the gamecube. Then he got soul calibur 2 and we played the crap out of that game as well as tekken and street fighter alpha collections. We last played ssf4 together but now heis was too busy with his life and new work schedule to play videogames with us anymore.

Nope. I had the typical asian parents. Y U NO DO HOMEWORK??? GO DO HOMEWORK!!! NO GAME WEEKDAY FO U! AHHHHHH!

When I was little, my mom use to take away the SNES controllers when she went to work on the weekdays. I’d just watch the SF2 intro over and over.

Me and my dad used to play dozens of NES/SNES/Genesis games together. Namely I remember us playing Super Mario Bros., Castlevania, Mega Man, Bionic Commando, Ninja Gaiden, Contra, and Tecmo Bowl the most. He was a gamer before I ever came along, so naturally that’s how I got into it. He had some of the really old systems, too, like Atari, ColecoVision, etc. But most of our time was spent playing on Nintendo or Sega. He sort of dropped out of things when the PSX/Saturn/N64 era came around, though. However, he did tell me a couple weeks ago that he bought a used PS2.

snaake’s mom know about the “jill game” (RE3)

My mom never touched video games when I was younger, although she fucks around with games on her iPad now though.

My dad and I used to actually play a few games together in the NES days. Zelda, Final Fantasy, and Bases Loaded were his games.

I recently needed help completing a x4 puzzle in Little Big Planet (the original). I had four controllers (x2 Dual-Shock + x2 Arcade Sticks) and I called upon my mom to try and use the two dual-shocks to complete a simple task in the game. Needless to say, it didn’t work out well and I demoted her to just holding the grab button on both arcade sticks.

EDIT: She also played a lot of Bubble Bobble with me when I was young.

I remember watching My mom beat QWOP when I was like 12. My dad had this boss ass Akuma in 3rd trike and to this day can walk into an arcade and make people cry. And he I was free when vanilla SF4 came out to him, Although he could fuck with me on MK trilogy and I’d probably murder him in 3rd strike and AE now.

Outside of the Wii bowling, the last time my Dad tried, I beat him at TMNT: Tournament Fighters on the SNES.

my mum played tetris from time to time. got her into the pheonix wright series as well  although im not sure she ever finished them :frowning:

me and my dad used to take turns on the sega rally demo on the saturn trying to get the best times on the forest track. thats probably the only game i remember him playing though,

My mom really likes puzzle games like Tetris and Bejewled.

My dad pretty much stopped playing games when I beat him at some football game when I was little. I don’t think he took losing to his daughter very well…

My mom got to level 200 on Phantasy Star Online Xbox ver. I played it with her a couple of times.

I grew up playing video games with my dad. Legend has it that I hooked up a Sega Genesis when I was 3 years old and had just moved into a new apartment.

My pops was into racing games, flight simulators, and fighting games. I grew up playing a lot of Tekken and Gran Turismo. My pops and I would stay up late on weekend nights racing against each other. We each had our own memory card with our souped up cars and we would just battle head to head…this car vs. that car.

Good times.

I played Point Blank (light gun variety style competitive shooter) against my dad a few times on PS1. He served in the military when he was younger so he was confident he’d do just fine.

After he lost soundly (several times, I might add), he complained that it was nothing like shooting a real gun and stopped. That was the first and only time in my memory I have ever played a video game with my parents lol.

I used to play Risk on the Genesis against my mom and stepdad.

Funny when I was a kid they always though video games were a waste of time. Then I got grounded for bad grades and got everything except clothes and books taken away. They started playing my Genesis and even after my grounding was over I still could not get the damn thing back into they bought their own.

I never played with my parents, but I got my mom to at least try SMB on NES once. When she said,“Why is that potato walking?” I was done. God rest her soul, but that line will stay with me forever.
