Anyone else not buying into the SFV hype?

most fun ive had with any post-09 fighting game xcept the one time i actually played kof13 offline

Lol. Obviously the point I’m trying to make is that I’m not intimidating in physical stature. BUT, maybe that should tell you something about my skill.

If you have an FGC, the game is still definitely worth buying and playing. It’s fun. It’s just a little easy, linear, and too beginner friendly, imo.

If you don’t have an FGC, the appeal in playing the game is that the buffer windows for the links makes it easy to not drop all your combos. Lol. I know I couldn’t land links online for 4, but that’s definitely not the case for me playing online in 5.

Hm. Ryu is fun. He’s my secondary character. He’s pretty much the only character I play as in casuals. If I know I’m a better player than the other guy, I’ll just fuck around with parry all day.

Ken is meh. He doesn’t feel like a shoto. There’s probably a reason why dive kick character players like Brentt and Julio picked him up. I don’t enjoy playing him as much as I thought I would.

Bison is pretty cool. Really irritating to play against, bc of the invincibility on his forward dashes. And then when he’s in V Trig, it’s like playing against jumper, it gets super irritating. BUT, he’s probably my favorite character to watch.

Nash is fun-ish. Can switch between offense and defense really quickly at this point in the game. Then you got Dieminion and LI Joe playing him, and a lot of former Rose players. Probably because his dashes are so good and he’s got good range on his normals.

Aesthetics, I can completely agree with you on. It’s sub-par. And so is the music, for that matter. Very bland.

I remember when they called MvC2 noob friendly :’)

Every word you used in that sentence means something other than it’s original meaning. That’s just how languages work, dawg.

Lol that’s so good.

I think fighting games are real fun to watch when you understand the game in depth such as frame data, frame traps, tech, whiff, shimmy, etc

A lot of people say tekken is boring to watch but to us tekken players, it’s fun as fuck to watch

I enjoy watching SF5
Especially Snake eyez holy fuk

Nuff said.

For what it’s worth (nothing), I find SF5 infinitely more entertaining to watch than SF4. That latest hour-long Daigo match video is just a gorgeous display of footsies and tension. I can’t wait to see high level matches in a year’s time.

Nobody cares if you are the Lollipop Guild’s Donnie Yen, the simple fact that you take a simple insult on the internet as an irl challenge is enough to call you an insecure little bitch.

I’m not even taking up for Daemos really, I’m more just pointing out the stupidity of your comment, and your reply to my reply further proves you really do have a ā€œshort manā€ complex, and that the irony of the situation is comedy gold. I second drunkard’s post, please come back more often I could use more dumb shit to laugh at.

Lol so what you’re saying is, is that you’re just a keyboard warrior unwilling to see me in a money match or a gym. Got it.

Whatever helps you sleep at night wee man. :coffee:

Quick question, can someone briefly explain the QFN on how the capcom network shit on twitch works?

Does this mean we gotta pay 5 bucks per month just to be able to save our replays on their server or…? And does this mean once it’s expired we can’t search rivals replays and etc.?

cause if that’s the case, this sounds like a sad reach for a game we paid 60 bucks for. (Not to say there aren’t ways around it by simply uploading matches to youtube right after playing them, but still.)

I am enjoying this Jersey shore parody account. Who is running it?

Just wanted to send a big shot-out to Starslicer who I friended through this thread. Dude’s legit! Great matches! Looking forward to getting my ass beat more! Gotta learn!

Edit:

Oh and shout-out to Capcom dev’s for making such a shit product! Had to make 4 different lounges between the two of us before we were able to play! Solid job, Capcom!

Yo, damn, and that’s the guy who said he hates/loathes this game in the beginning of the thread. Lol!

But in all seriousness, I really like that he’s in there still grinding it out despite his objections to certain aspects of the game. The game is still in its infancy. Kudos to both of you.

Thanks, man. Like I’ve said a few times in here, I enjoy the gameplay…and I really like the community. I hate having plateau’d in fighters because of lack of local competition so being able to find people online to beat the bejeezus out of me but help me improve while they do so is great. It’s so appreciated and hopefully I can help them improve a bit too.

Can’t really be hype for a game that had over half a year of beta tests, games solid and good though.

tekken is still very technical

SF5 is mostly reading your opponent, which is fine for playing but boring to watch imo. just like I like playing chess but would never watch a match.

Watching [Hori]Sako play Chun on Daigo’s stream just inspired me to keep playing Chun-Li.
