MVC2 CSM could beat UMVC3 Phoenix and Wolvie anyday
And well, Vergil pretty much be good on any team because he can beat a lot of the cast.
So, he’s really popular in cases such as Anti-Morrigan or Morrigan Soulfist spam.
I miss vanilla, really miss vanilla. Despite what people say I still think it was the better game. I don’t really care about fair cast balance. The only thing wrong with MvC3 in general is Phoenix, she fucked the game up, and not because she’s broken but because she dictates how much meter you build. That’s it, because of Phoenix the meter had to be limited enough so that she didn’t get five bars ahead of time, and now the game is kind of boring, fun but boring. Everything is too fair, I honestly prefer things to be a little more broken, I don’t mind invincible assists, I don’t mind glitches that encourage team order, I don’t mind having lots of meter to burn on assist punnished and DHCs. Vanilla was more like MvC2 and that’s what I liked, despite being less balanced it was deffinately more fair on the player, there’s so much BS the player shouldn’t have to deal in ultimate, having invincible assists makes it so much better. Pardon my rambling. Whatever, MvC2 > MvC3 and anything that makes the game play more like its predecessor is a better game imo, ultimate was balanced for the sake of balance and had many negative consequences.
I put in that vanilla a few weeks ago, and vanilla magneto is ridiculously fast, but other than that, I wasn’t too interested in the game for some reason.
MSH #1. RIP good shuma
Super skrull is in vanilla. You might as well get ultimate now.
Haha, like I said, it’s not a logic for everyone.
Huh? What do you mean?
Not only do I disagree with almost every single thing that you post, I also find myself picturing you as a raccoon wearing a spacesuit sitting in front of a computer.
It just doesn’t feel right.
You are complaining about stupid character designs and using that as an os or poor reason not to buy the game when there is a character with a more retarded design in the game you are playing already.

I never thought I’d read someone saying UMVC3 is too fair. I can handle that talk about Magneto.
You have to understand the context in which I’m saying it. For example, meter build in ultimate is fair, characters don’t build rediculous amounts of meter like they used to, they build just enough meter to survive, with a few exceptions. Having no overly invincible assists is fair, it gives all assists an equal chance of being used and doesn’t allow them to be abused. Nerfing characters is fair, you don’t want them to be too powerful, they have to be as equal to the rest of the cast as possible. And so on. But like I said it hasn’t come without its problems, the quest for balance and fairness has made the game probably just as bull shitty as it was before, only now there’s less ways to actually deal with things, such as too weak assists to put fear in the opponent and get you out of situations, less meter to burn on chipping the opponent, and so on. I much prefer a game where assists are powerful and meter is plentiful, because as unfair as it might seem for balance to be out of whack imo it makes a better game. Some situations you get your self in in ultimate are fucking disgusting, granted vanilla Phoenix was just as disgusting but the other factors were not as bad as some people make it out to be. Vanilla was the MvC2 of this new series, unfortunately we’ll never know where it would have went.

I don’t think Super-Skrull is a stupid character design. I actually think he is one of the most badass characters in the whole roster, not to mention that he has a visually spectacular moveset and a vivid personality. Yes, he is a bit ugly to look at, but at least he is an extremely powerful fighter, and therefore makes for a perfect addition to a fighting game.
He is not a stupid choice like, say, a lawyer or a guy who looks like a randomly generated NPC walking down the streets in Grand Theft Auto.
And character design is not a poor reason not to buy a game.
I’m not talking about character choices. I’m talking about design. Super skrull is one of the most fucking stupid designs of any character in any game. He is a random stupid bullshit character who thrives off of hitting people with random crossup meteor smashes, or some other ridiculous crossup that is impossible to spot. No one in their right mind likes fighting super skrull. He’s not even top tier or anything like that. His design is just so stupid that he is infuriating to fight. Also, poor character design (which is all relative) for 2 characters out of 50 is a poor reason not to buy a game. Especially considering u can buy it for like 20 dollars at gamestop. Since when are looks relevant to character design? I’m pretty sure a lawyer is more appealing to most people than a green hentai monster.
Umm, I haven’t ever been talking about gameplay design at all throughout this thread. Like I said before, I don’t care one bit about how the characters play (I’m well aware that Super-Skrull is anoying to fight gainst, though). It’s visual design I’ve been talking about.
Not talking about being “good-looking” or “attractive” either. This is not a fashion contest. It’s a fighting game, and what I’ve been talking about is “suitability to be in a fighting game.” Sure, Super-Skrull, MODOK and Shuma-Gorath aren’t pretty to look at, but they are all perfect additions to a fighting game, since they are all warriors. A lawyer looks completely stupid and out of place in a fighting game, not to mention like a display of shameless fan service on Capcom’s part.
And 2 out of 50 characters is a perfect reason not to buy a game if they completely wreck the art style of the series.
Well, I guess we all have our reasons, whether stupid or not. I’m not sure how you can call shuma-gorath a warrior in this game either. I disagree with the completely wreck the art style. In marvel 2, you had a little school girl that turned into a giant drill. You had a tiny lego man. None of those sound like warriors to me. I think you’ve deluded yourself, but whatever floats your boat.
I assume you’re referring to Shuma-Gorath not being a warrior in regards to gameplay style, right? Well, in case you aren’t, I’ll just explain the obvious: Shuma-Gorath is one of the most menacing characters in the roster from a design perspective. He is an omnipotent evil god who can shoot lasers and change his shape. He could probably bite a man in half with his huge shark jaw in less than two seconds. His design is unorthodox, yeah, but he by all means CAN fight.
And I’m not sure I get who you’re referring to when you say “school girl who can turn into a drill.” You referring to Sakura or Roll? In any case, any school girl who can “turn into a drill” would be a decent threat, wouldn’t you say?
Not arguing about Servbot, either. He is another character that I despise.
I’ve seen a shitload of striders online.
Well, the only thing that I disagree with is the stuff about MODOK, dude, have you seen his Elvis alt??
That shit is hoooot.
Hahaha, right.
>Been playing vanilla for a couple months.
>Thinks he knows everything.
Playing vanilla is about as useful as playing MSH, sure it’s fun but almost nobody else is playing it.
But…vanilla had a lawyer too.
