I’m not sure what exactly people mean when they say they should increase sales by adding more features to the sticks rather than blocking old peripherals from working on new consoles. What features can they add? the new TE2+ pretty much has anything and everything bar LEDs
at the end of the day there isn’t much you can do with a case, a joystick and a handful of buttons …
more customizable (pick art for any SFV character, more colors, etc.)
There are always ways to improve a product. In any case, if people don’t want the new thing, obsoleting their old thing isn’t going to engender good will.
I agree with this, there really isn’t much they could add that i can think of. Everything they could do is pretty superficial. Altho I do like the idea being able to customize ur stick like choose artwork and stuff but they would never do that
The best features they could add are the type of things stick specialists always end up modding their sticks with anyways. And also making the case form factor more mod friendly, which is something we’re seeing more and more with sticks from peripheral companies.
Nobody really cares for wireless though. Yes, some sticks have a wireless option as a gimmick, but since tournament’s have banned wireless, wires is the way to go.
NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. There is no way in hell that Sony or MS will allow a licensed peripheral to support their competitors platforms.
Nobody cares for wireless in what sense? To me it would be nice to not bother with the wire 95% of the time and only bring it out at tournaments. I’d gladly pay for that if it were a $50 option or something. By support more platforms I was actually referring to legacy ones.
The market has spoken. The standard now is wired because the perception is that “pro” or “tournament” peripherals must be wired.
As for legacy platforms, not happening. The closest you’ll get is PS3 and PS4 support in one stick (and maybe XBox one and XBox 360 on another). Beyond that, there are too many things to consider, including different connectors to make it viable.
If given the option of wireless or wired people will almost always go with wired, especially where sticks r involved. U have to think of this from a business sense, why would u add a feature 2 a stick when A: it’s mostly likely not gonna b used and B: it will not gross much more sales than it did b4
I’m not sure if it would be better these days, but when madcatz first released their SFIV line of products, the PS3 fightpad was wireless…and it was horrible. The input-lag on it was extremely noticeable and made the game very frustrating.
