Running Wesker Iron Man Sentinel at the moment (learning Trish and Dante) solid all around for being a n00b…
I’m not really a Wesker player, so someone with some more knowledge of Wesker’s combos might want to give a better shot at this, but based on the fact that he has no minimum damage scaling, it would be a good idea to have a character he can TAC to with a high minimum scaling to continue the combo, end with a hyper, then DHC back into Wesker’s Lost in Nightmares, which ignores damage scaling. Doing :l::h:, Ghost Butterfly, :s:, j. :h:, :u:TAC to Taskmaster, j. :h:, Swing, j. :h:, :d:TAC to Hulk, j. :h::s:, land, Gamma Quake, Lost in Nightmares does 1,307,800 with no X-Factor and 4 meters. With a better starting combo you might not even need to go back into Lost in Nightmares.
I’m thinking about putting Dr. Doom on my team, and I noticed a lot of other Wesker players play him too. Which assists work well with Wesker, and when do you use them?
my current team ive been playing with is Wesker (gun assist), Dormammu (tower assist), Morrigan (harmonizer assist). Wesker as a battery with Morrigan constantly Harmonizing for super fast meter build and rush, then Dormammu tags with big meters for lots of super combo damage output. the changeup of hardcore attack with wesker and keep away offense as dorm seems to throw people off, and kind of wrench other peoples teams. might just be because its early on, but it deff works really well so far. Morrigan is mostly used as a meter build the whole time, but shes actually a good third option because she can rush a little like wesker and has mild keepaway like Dorm, so it makes the team pretty balanced. the OTG assists from both Wesker and Dormammu also makes the combo boosting really good for both chars. any thoughts on ways to improve this team? i deff recommend trying it if you love wesker as much as i do so far.
I’m still new to this game, but when I had Doom on my team I’d use him with Molecular Shield. I originally had Wesker/Iron Man/Doom.
I’d use Iron Man’s Unibeam with the gun to continue OTG combos, and Doom’s Molecular Shield to go into his level 3, similar to how Dante’s Jam Session works. For the record though, I don’t know if it works outside of the corner. I also rarely used Doom’s assist outside of combos. I’d mostly just stick with Unibeam to force the opp to block and teleport behind them and go from there. I’ve since been using Dante in his place, mostly cause I found Doom awkward to combo with if I ended up with him as my last character.
I was actually messing around with the assists today, and I decided I’d probably use Molecular Shield for that reason. Wesker can carry an opponent across the stage and build ~149% meter in one BnB combo, so getting an opportunity to use it shouldn’t be a problem.
Need advice on a third member for a team of Wesker (S.Edge)/She-Hulk (low Torpedo). The two of them have great synergy together, since they can both make good use of a low/otg assist for their mix-ups, have good health, and deal good damage, too. But that leaves the third character of such a team with two low/otg assists and nothing else, and I can’t think of a character for whom that’s a real advantage. I was pondering Ammy, Akuma, or Phoenix, since all can use the meter that Wesker/Shulkie generate, need to be backed up by healthy point characters, and other than some difficulty otg’ing, don’t really need much in the way of assists since their games are pretty versatile already, but I’m not sure. Team hyper combos in with these two are also difficult. Advice would be most appreciated.
Edit: Also considering Morrigan and Ryu for reasons similar to above.
I was doing well with Wesker/Deadpool/Sentinel, but kind of felt Sentinel was too cheap, so I’ve been playing around with a third character, Akuma is the stand-in for now, but if I stick with him, I may have to switch out Deadpool
Just tried Dante instead of Deadpool, and WOW, he is an awesome compliment to Wesker. He’s control without the runaway that I tend to do with Deadpool.
I run Wesker (Low Shot) /X-23 (Ankle) /Doom (Rocks). <3 Doom rocks. You can use Doom rocks to extend Wesker combos after OTG gun. I don’t use X23 assist as much … she’s there as “2nd point.” You could probably use it as another OTG combo extender … not sure, I really need to play with that.
Typically I’ll refrain from using much meter w/ Wesker, and depend on doom rocks for extra damage, so that X23 has it for Dirt Nap and for ending combos w/ Rage Trigger.
I need suggestion i have c.viper wolverine & wesker, thinking about dropping viper for someone else. Any suggestions?
Dante and Akuma are good options. I currently have Wolverine/ Dante or Akuma / Wesker as a team.
Dante’s Jam session and Akuma’s tatsu are great assists for both Weskser and Wolverine.
I just recently started to play Wesker and have already replaced my former on-point (Spencer) on my main team. The team also consists of Doom and Hagger, and so far I’ve noticed that the team works pretty well. You have Doom’s hidden missles which add to your pressure, you can also dhc your qcf 2xatk into Doom’s srk 2x atk and it will combo (mind you I do a pretty simple bnb so I net around 500k+ damage with the bnb alone + more with the dhc). I also like Hagger on the team for when I face more rushdowny teams that outspeed me, his Lariat is just really good and benefits both doom and wesker.
Dude thanks for the suggestions, i think i’m just goign to keep c.viper in there ( i really like her ) and everyone else on the team so i’ll see what kind of synergy if any I can use for them.
I have Wolverine on Point (berserker barrage) C.viper (burning kick) for cross up attempts etc. & Wesker (either ghost butterfly or low shot) to fuck shit up. Need help on using the assists effectively. Any advice?
use Wesker’s Samurai Edge assist for OTG’s after your air combos
viper’s usually a bitch to DCH out of, but i’d guess wolvie’s air one works
Has anyone realized how crazy good Doom(plasma beam)/Zero(fireball)/Akuma(tatsu) are as a team? Insane rush down with Akuma and great zoining with Zero, you can also rush down with Zero assist, gives doom great cross up abilites since it comes out slower than Akuma. Doom and Zero can easily DHC to kill nearly any character for only 2 or 3 meters meters. Each character works well on point, great synergy here. Tons and tons of potential with this team.
Are you calling in the Ammy assist before :df::h: . Or are you hitting them at the same time, im having some trouble with the timing.
I eventually changed it to captain/doom/wesker. I made a combo with captain that requires an otg assist from wesker. It’s not much but it’s a much better synergy than with Dante on the team(at least for me). I still use doom assist to help cover my teleports or j.s. Plus his standing H and cr.M is beastly range. Hide those with a cross up j.s(I don’t think it does but I just jump over them or teleport hehe) while covered by doom assist.
I also space with wesker’s :qcf:+:l: with captain’s shield slash assist(if the opponent is a rusher) or with captains charging star assist(since I can eat projectiles).
Don’t replace doom. Not even for iron man. Doom’s beam assist comes out quicker than unibeam of the same strength. Plus it does more than one hit. Read the Hyper Guide on the SRK wiki about how the game engine treats projectiles.

Spencer- Armor Piercer
Wesker- Samurai Edge
Sentinel- Drones
they flow very well together. Armor Piercer assist is really nice after OTG Samurai Edge.
any suggestions for a replacement char for my team? im running Wesker/Dormammu/Morrigan currently.
i like this team, and have had decent success against friends and online (unranked), but the more i play it, the less i like Dorm as a member of it. hes usually brought in for big meter eating combos and DHC Chaotic Flame, but his slower play and keepaway i think slows down my attack-style pace too much.
i cant play doom, regardless of how good his assists are, just dont like his style when hes out. any other ideas for a more ranged third to this team?
Hmmm…I dont really know. Kinda what I like about Mahvel is that you can kinda just have one character that’s opposite of your normal play style to help you counter issues in the character types that you normally tend to like playing. Like right now I’m playing Chun/Doom/Wesker and although Chun and Wesker tend to fit my play style a bit more initially having that range game with Doom is great and once u learn his dash and jump cancels he can move about and dash around almost as quick as Magneto can. Chun and Wesker are both great batteries for Doom who has a 900k damage mid screen bnb combo off his level 3 once meter is built for it.
I guess I’m just having trouble trying to figure out what you want when a nice ranged character like Dorm or Dr.Doom could easily round out your offense. You saying you want a character that’s more offensive to add to team basically? If so I dont really have any immediate suggestions especially since you’re using Morrigan’s harmonizer assist which is the best assist of its type in the game and Morrigan is also a super well rounded character that can do offense and defense well. You might as well make the most of that assist and use it with a character that is reliant on meter but has powerful options when that meter is available like Dorm. Viper is a more offensive take on that type of play style that I think you would like but I dont think she’s really discovered well enough where you’d be able to take a ton of advantage of it yet. I feel there’s a ways to go before people make her really strong and worth the meter she wastes.
