Any Volunteers For My Lab Experiments? Albert Wesker's Team Thread

Wesker can zone and outrun zero pretty decently. Yipes used his Wesker team to fight Meep at NEC and he beat him 3-1.

Yeah that match up is ass for Wesker. Vergil has longer normals than Wesker so it is hard to approach him. You can’t stay in the air and lame him out because he has Vajra. The best thing to do is up-back and go in when he is locked down by assist or x-factor cancel and kill him.

That is how you deal with bad match ups… You have to play differently in order to win. If you want to play a character who doesn’t have that many bad match ups and doesn’t have to change their style of gameplay then play someone like Zero, Magneto, and Vergil. They hardly ever have to change how they play.

Vergil/Wesker/Strider

Then if that doesn’t work then play
Wolverine/Wesker/Akuma
or
Spencer/Wesker/(Magneto, Doom, Hawkeye)

The thing about running Wesker second with Strider, Hawkeye, Akuma, and Taskmaster behind him is being able to ToD with Wesker. The best thing Wesker can do is to level 3 or TAC into Strider/Hawkeye and do their level 3. Those both do a little under 1 mil and require a decent amount of meter before you even start the combo.

I think the best Wesker teams are the ones with good TAC combos. This allows you to convert any hit, air throw, and command grab into a ToD. So it is much better to run:
Wesker/Magneto
Wesker/Doom
Wesker/Sentinel

Honestly though, I think any team with Wesker is not an optimized team. Wesker is in the top 10-15 characters. There are a lot of characters that are better than Wesker. I am constantly thinking about dropping Wesker from my team but I haven’t leveled up anyone better to replace him yet.

For example:
Vergil/Wesker/Strider you are better off with Vergil/Dante/Strider
Wolverine/Wesker/Akuma you are better off with Wolverine/Doom/Vergil
Spencer/Wesker/(Magneto, Doom, Hawkeye) you are better off with Spencer/Vergil/(Magneto, Hawkeye)

But yeah if you like Wesker then stick with Wesker. He is still better than a majority of the cast and just because he is ranked lower doesn’t mean he can’t beat the characters that are ranked higher than him.

I appreciate the input Prolifick88. I think that Imma stick with Wesker/Doom/Strider and switch to Wolverine/Wesker/Akuma when I fight Zeros. Wesker is the perfect character for me. He is a hybrid with decent buttons and combos that aren’t hard. I love to have options.

I should know better that playing differently is the best option.

I think Vergil/Strider is better for Zero. I always beat Zero with Vergil/Strider.

idk who to use i’m running wesker wolverine akuma i’m not feeling those characters any more i mean i do like wesker & wolverine any help to pick up a character whose not that hard to play with outside of sentinel doom & vergil?

Those are the best because Wolverine gets meterless conversion off his berserker slash. You can try Frank West or Shuma (hard to use though).

If you want to get rid of wolverine, you can try Nova or Spencer. Those two are not that hard characters to pick up.

I just can’t decide on a 2nd character for my team.
Right now I use: Wesker(Low gunshot)/???/Tasky(Horizontal arrows)

Was thinking of the following characters:

Dante(Jam Session)
Iron Man(Repulsor Blast)
Ammy(Cold Star)
Sent(Drones)

Out of those four, three have a high skillcap imo. With Tony being just a bit too much work for what he is. I fucking LOVE Cold Star as an assist, but I can’t wrap my head around Ammy.

Any other suggestions?

well i mean ammy is ass lol dante is pretty tough to use & sent is the best match i think since iron man is not that good he doesn’t do that much damage dante is really technical but he’s godlike lol

wesker haggar phoenix ain’t doing it for me idk who i should play i love wolverine & wesker just don’t no who to use as an anchor for the team i’ve tried numerous teams but i don’t like those really extreme hard characters

I’m running a Team Of Wesker(guns shot),Dorm(Dark Hole), and Hawkeye(greyhound) I get alot of Utility of Dark Hole for incoming mixup and combo extensions…but I struggling to find a good combo for Wesker that leaves the opponent in middle of the screen in certain situations especially when I start a combo in the middle of the stage… Any help will be greatly appreciated

starter, qcf L, 3H, c.M, s.H, qcf H~H, qcf L, dash+dark hole, 3H, qcf M (dash under/walk under so that you are in the corner), s, sj.H, max wesker.

Currently running wesker, nova (overhead), and hawkeye (triple arrow). Any tips/suggestions for this team?

Currently using Wesker/Zero/Strider i was just wondering what you wesker main’s opinon on killing off of the first hit. The options are either burning two bars to start lightning loop…use a tac and only burn one bar possibly gaining an extra one through a down tac or just go for a reset using strider. starting with one bar wesker builds enough for a team hyper with zero but usually this isn’t enough to kill any character with over 900k.

For Wesker/Doom(beam)/Ammy how do you mixup with Cold Star when Wesker’s on point? Teleport like a madman? Dash up command grab after it’s done? Wesker doesn’t have many high/lows so it feels like I can’t do anything until they’re out of blockstun.<br>

But, Midscreen, what you can do is do some block strings (s.C, jaguar kick, palms, etc.) that will push them juuuust OUT of cold star, and THEN grab them before they realize what’s going on. That way, if they read it, at least you have a few ice shots left that can combo break. ok, so my current team is as following : Wesker (gunshot)/ ??? / Vergil (rapid slash)<br><br>I’m currently looking for a second character and can’t seem to choose out of these 2 guys :<br>Taskmaster<br>Dante<br><br>sooo, which on do you think is better for wesker ???<br>

Dante/Wesker gets unblockables with the gunshot. For Wesker/Dante I prefer Weasel Shot because he comes in behind Wesker and can interrupt them if they start hitting you while you mix them up. Jam Session gives good space control but not as good mixups. With Task you get the arrows that go fullscreen, a property that Weasel Shot lacks. Task/Wesker also gets the gunshot for unblockable setups after a meaty Swing (point-blank it’s throw punishable but I think if it hits late it’s safe)<br>DHCs into hypers are pretty much the same for the two. I don’t know much about Task so I won’t run my mouth either way about Dante being better/worse than Task for Wesker but there’s my two cents.

Well, hi guyz! I normally run Nemesis/Dorm/Strange, and don’t intend to stop, that team is sick, but Nemmy has a terrible matchup on small characters. Tentacles make the team, and whiffing 80% of my zoning on a wavedashing X-23 or Deadpool is not a very good look. So, for some of the shorter matchups, I’ve been looking for a different point. Trying out Wesker in the lab. He feels really natural to play as, I’m enjoying him for now.<br><br>Trying out Wesker/Dorm/Strange, I intend to keep the order that way, but don’t know much about Wesker’s combos or usage of the assists. So, I’ve got a bunch of questions, sorry if it’s a bit much.<br><br>1. Combos: From a little bit of labbing, I currently have the following combos, cr.Mst.H QCF+L, teleport L, otg, cr.M st.H QCF+L, otg into bolts, first bolt hits, st.H, second bolt hits, QCF+M, st.H S, MMHS, otg into dark hole, QCF+L, Teleport so they’re facing midscreen, team super (haven’t checked to see if the gunshot adds extra damage there, may not there). I also have cr.Mst.H QCF+L, otg, cr.M st.H QCF+M, st.H S+Bolts, j.MHS, j.H as they fall into the second bolt, S, j.H Air Maximum Wesker, DHC to Stalking Flare, j.S, otg assist, and so on. However, I feel I’m not getting as good damage as I could be, and I have no clue how to use the running knee attack. Anyone got more effective combos for me?<br><br>2. Neutral: Nemesis/Strange is so effective because I can protect the bolts with a tentacle so only godlike prediction can punish my assists. If Tentacle hits a grounded opponent, I can wavedash up and get a near-fullscreen confirm. I Thought I could do the same if I called bolts while using the gunshot. Not working. they don’t stay in hitstun from the gun enough, though it looks to work for locking down for low/grab mixups. My other ideas: airgrab reset while calling dark hole, (I get momentum if they tech the grab), and air-to air with bolts then teleport, should net me a combo on hit or block, and maybe it’ll be a crossup. I feel like I’m missing something, though. If anyone can tell me the standard bolt mixups with Wesker, as well as tell me if my current tech is any good, lemme know? I’m day one, so I’m not sure how to effectively use him yet. <br><br>3. Zoning: Zoning with bolts seems like a good way to get my assist shot to hell. How would one effectively zone with bolts? <br><br>4: Blockstrings: if they block a cr.LMH, what won’t get me punished/is a good idea? I’ve been playing hit-and-run for some time with this team, Nem couldn’t do nearly as much up close, and I hate it when I learn an unsafe string and don’t know it, just because random people online don’t know how to punish it.<br><br>That’s about it. If someone could help with one or more of these topics I’d be extremely thankful.<br>
