Any vegans or veggies here?

Thing about dairy though, is that milk is not meant for consumption post breast feeding. Also, cow milk is meant for baby cows, not for humans. I never understood why milk was consumed and found it disgusting even before I went vegan. Something about it grosses me out. Who’s idea was it to eat cheese? Like, someone just thought yeah that moldy old solidified milk looks delicious. And then they took it a step further with blue cheese. Yuuuuuck.

I also hate soy milk. Absolutely disgusting. Almond milk though, and especially almond coconut blends, are amazing. Flax milk is all right too, a bit more neutral than almond milk in flavor.

Vegan “cheese” is also disgusting. Most if it tastes like salty butter. I’ve had one that even tasted like stale bread stuffing from thanksgiving. WTF man.

Milk is delicious.

Blue cheese is the bovine goddess’ greatest gift to man.

No, I am not a veggie or a vegan, but I mostly consume fluids like juice and water, and plant based foods which is mostly fruit, no rice, chicken and fish every once in a while, but I also eat some junk food, but not that much. I’m actually kind of grossed out by any type of meat, including fish. I almost sure I will stop eating all kinds of flesh eventually. I feel like a cannibal while eating meat. I also smoke a lot of weed which repairs the body from the damage of any random crap I would eat every once in a while. Ever since I turned to this type of omnivorous diet, my mind and body has become much healthier and younger looking. My moods are more stable and it seems I have become more intelligent as well. Also, I spend lots of time under the sun. I also noticed that I don’t need to eat as much as I used to, too. It’s like my calorie needs decreased. I also exercise everyday. I also require less sleep during the last couple of years. Four hours of sleep is enough for me. I am 34, but I look, 21.

Uuuuh… This is interesting.

That is interesting. Really interesting. I couldn’t eat that every day, I enjoy cooking and having variety.

Forget that, how do you eat TEN POUNDS of lettuce?

Hey man, I just got here. Did the OP end up being an uptight douchebag like vegans are generally thought of?

The ones I know/ of are really cool.

Didn’t say anything.

I’m sure a portion of that is water weight, but uh, I don’t know man :frowning: Plus all the time it would take to eat that much lettuce.

THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!

Now then, as you were…

The human body was never designed for consuming animals’ flesh. It actually has a hard time processing it.

Been gone a bit, OP has returned.

Seems to have been civil here, glad to see it.

I agree, there is no point to imitating cheese. Veggie-burgers, for example, are fine with extra avocado instead of cheese or egg. Veggies have their own pallet of flavors, and those should be embraced.

Hemp milk, I maintain, will always be the top. Almond milk falls behind hemp, then coconut, then horchata. If you’ve not had the privilege of trying hemp milk, you ought to seek it out. Its pricepoint falls below almond milk and is often found near non-refridgerated almond milk.

Lets take this discussion elsewhere now, as ideologically veganism is already well-documented in this thread and now we are hitting food talk.

Who here enjoys Kombucha? Its basically drinking a live culture of probiotic fungi. Some say that the probiotic effect is a myth, others say it aids gut bacteria. I’ve not looked into any peer reviewed studies yet, so what do you all think?

Kombucha is really good. I think you mean fermented tea.

Lettuce is pretty much all water.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen hemp milk before. Not a fan of almond milk, though. Then again, I don’t like almonds, so…

Me, located in NY. There is an awesome place called Strong Hearts here in SU, I recommend you all check it out.

I’ve never heard of hemp milk. If I ever find it, I’ll give it a try. Same with hemp seed, never had a chance to try that either but I’ve heard it’s good for you. That’s from someone who reads pseudoscientific sites though so I have no idea if it’s really good for you.

On the other hand, anyone who is vegan really needs to be careful about horchata because a lot of the horchata sold in stores has dairy milk in it. It’s not just rice milk, it’s a combination of rice milk and regular milk. I do like legit rice milk though, it has a light brown rice flavor and aroma.

BTW, any vegans or veggies here who hate PETA?

Dude…

This is factually false. We’ve evolved to consume and process meat - from our teeth right down to the enzymes secreted in your GI tract.

I don’t know if that is completely true.
