Just finished Suikoden Tactics.
Good. Lord. HORRIBLE.
I’ve been trying to play through all the Suikoden games. I started in late march, and 2 1/2 months later, I’ve played through Suikos 1-4, Tactics and Tierkreis. I sure hope Suikoden 5 was worth the wait.
If you were able to force yourself to finish Suikoden 4, then Suikoden 5 will be a breeze dude!
Suikoden 4 wasn’t awful, it was just boring. I disliked Suikoden 3 a lot more, to be honest.
And the sailing system is frustrating.
I dunno…again, that wasn’t so much frustrating to me as it was boring. 
It’s not frustrating, just stupid how you encounter a random match every 10 - 15 seconds. Oh yeah, did I mention how slow the freakin’ boat moves?
I loved the confession box the most though, such a cool system 
The only thing remotely fun about sailing was treasure hunting.
I guess it was also kinda cool how your HQ and mode of transportation were one and the same…
Yeah, I couldn’t really say that Suikoden 4’s sailing is frustrating or shitty. There are a lot of random battles, but random battles are super quick in that game. Also - and maybe this was because my Suikoden friends blew it out of proportion - I found the ship to be a lot faster than most people made it out to be. Besides, you can fucking teleport, lol.
I just finished Suikoden 5 today. I don’t really see why people even try to draw comparisons to its story and Suikoden 2’s…but that’s not really a bad thing. They just seem like apples and oranges to me. Overall, not that bad, but there were a lot of stupid gameplay decisions that annoyed me. Really though, good game! It was worth the wait.
hah you guys should go to SuikoSource.com if you don’t know already about it. Hardcore Suikoden fans talk about like crazy character analysis, suiko history. People over there find some really interesting stuff. There’s also many guides on perfect games
