Oh I know about needle replacement. I started off as a turntablist DJ, so i was more so destroying records and needles. But I am really funny about that stuff. I was like the super budget digger, would go to record stores that really didn’t care about their vinyl sales and rack up. Heck I even bought Purple Rain on vinyl for a smooth 50 cents, then it turned out to be a Lenny Williams record inside, I should have checked but Lenny Williams is the truth as well.
Also has anyone ordered from Turntable Lab? I’ve been an online window shopper of theirs for ages but never actually ordered anything from them.
That’s a pretty simple way of looking at it but not entirely wrong. Ideally it should sound good on every system so I will typically reference on a lot of things throughout production. i listen on headphones, expensive monitors, cheap monitors, car stereos, earbuds, and try to make it sound as good as possible on all of them. Mastering will take this further of course but it’s important to listen critically to whatever you think it will be listened on.
For instance I have worked on over 30 mobile, DS, 3DS titles. I learned pretty quickly what frequencies those hardware reproduce well and what range they don’t. Even so I would mainly produce the music and sfx with a set of headphones lying on my desk in front of me with the gain cranked up. This emulated pretty well what I would hear in any mobile device and I could quickly pick up the headphones to do a listen for earbud listeners.
Anyone have any thoughts on the Audio Technica ATH-M50x? The reviews are good but I’m wondering if anyone here has personal experience with it. My really old Sennheiser 201s broke so I figure I might as well upgrade.
Just wanted to notice that audiophile its not matter in the high end equipment. I know older audiophiles and they say it’s not matter in high end and price of it.
