Anime & Manga Thread v.6.0 Crunchyroll Sucks Now, Come Back Funimation! Come Back!

Not true at all. Hxh literally goes out of its way to break the mold. The main character isn’t even involved anymore

So that’s one show out of how many?

I can name more but that is the biggest in my head

Does anyone know why attack on titan is ending? I thought it was really popular

Because the author is ending it?

The author wants to end it, apparently he has had the ending planned out for a while and it is just come to that point.

Seems like they are rushing to end the anime, just seems weird to rush to meet the Manga

Probably don’t want the hype to die down for the show when the Manga ends.

Wait was your original question about the anime or the manga?

Anime

The anime ends because the manga ends. Outside of doing anime only shit they’ll run out of source material to adapt/animate.

I’d rather a neat concise story than a hella dragged out one for no reason.

Berserk should but at this point I question if even the creator knows how he wants to end it.

It just seems like their riding for them to end together. I’m not saying make up shit but you can pace it out. Just seemed odd to rush it to end together so I wondered if it wasn’t doing well. This looks on the surface like the bleach situation

Often they’ll try to sync the ending of both at the same time to go out with a bang and to avoid one from spoiling the other.

You also have to remember that anime is still an advertising medium designed to push sales of all the other peripheral materials (source materials - books, novels, manga, figures, cd sales, merc, etc.). So if the manga ended way earlier there’d be nothing for the anime to sell.

The Toradora novel and anime both ended in March 2009 for example.

Bleach was already going down the shitters, so that’s why it got canned. AoT is far from that situation.

The problem with Berserk is how content gets trickled out - a chapter a month or something. The authour is too busy playing idolmaster and is way too meticulous with the story to go any quicker. He takes months off every year just to sit down and plan out the next part of the story.

Also makes me wonder why the hell do they do Hajime no ippo every few years. Is it ratings or sumtin else

Ippo still sells and the manga is STILL going IIRC.

Haikyuu is way more fucking grounded than most sports anime’s and while “formulaic” it does it in a way that makes it own making the series feel special. Others like Ace of the Diamond, Slam Dunk, BabySteps and Big Wind Up do the same.

Prince of Tennis is outlandish as fuck. Just like Kuroko and Eye Shield.

Meant anime why they only do it every few years.
