Magi - 23

Magi 23

Spoiler

The Arms Dealer says that the Organization’s agenda/interest in Aladdin and Alibaba is to acquire Solomon’s Wisdom and use Alibaba as an offering of sorts. The girl and the man accompanying the Arms Dealer are also introduced: Dunya, a former royal from a fallen country and her knight, Isaac. Dunya berates Alibaba for continuing to exist/live even after his home country was made a part of the Kou Empire and she tells the Arms Dealer (who is named Ithnan) that she will kill him. As Alibaba and Aladdin prepare for battle, Hakuryuu is told to flee with Morgiana and the young girl. Some time after Hakuyruu retreats, he discovers what looks to be the treasure room.

In Sindria, though Judal expresses that he wants to team up with Sinbad, he also tells him that he wants to challenge him if he survives the Organization’s attack - with the Kou Empire. Judal goes on to highlight the five dungeon clearers: Hakuei, Kougyoku, and three other princes, one of which that Judal speaks highly of. Kougyoku is surprised at the news and Judal tells her to leave Sindria, as he has some interest in her safety as a native of Kou. After Judal leaves, Sinbad holds a war council and says that Sindria will prepare for war, rather than be put on the defensive with repairing Yamraiha’s broken barrier. Kougyoku later meets up with Sinbad feeling distraught at what she should do, but the Sindrian King reassures her that things will be okay and he even offers her refuge in Sindria. Beyond Sindria, enemy forces approach.

Dunya shows off the power of the ‘dark metal vessel’ and uses it to transform into a black djinn, the sight reminding Alibaba of what happened to Cassim. Wielding magnetic force to manipulate sand and minerals, Dunya fights against Aladdin, while Alibaba engages Isaac, who happens to be a skilled swordsman despite wearing heavy armor. Though Alibaba and Aladdin are somewhat outclassed, each of them recalls their training and turns the odds in their favor against their opponents: Alibaba with his royal sword arts and focused Djinn Equip sword ends up ‘disarming’ Isaac and Aladdin ends up overwhelming Dunya with his access to vast magoi reserves. Ithnan interferes and makes Dunya undergo another transformation, but this time, she reverts her form back to that of a human and she utilizes a ‘Dark’ Djinn Equip (similar to what Hakuei used). Isaac also ‘gathers’ himself via magnetism and utilizes it to propel/move himself at high speeds, which for a moment overwhelm Alibaba, but Hakuryuu returns to help him out and says that he left Morgiana and the young girl in the treasure room for safety. Aladdin proposes that he stall their opponents until they run out of magoi, but Ithnan says it wouldn’t be wise as he shows the trio an image of an enemy force fast approaching Sindria. Dunya begins to charge up a powerful magic attack.

As the enemy forces closes in on Sindria, Sinbad rallies his people, soldiers, and his Eight Generals to battle.

  • Things be picking up now. Maybe a battle/fight each episode?
  • The Arms Dealer has a name?
  • The flashback of Dunya’s past looks interesting.

  • Barely any screen time for the Minami household members Kana and Chiaki this week, save for Haruka.

Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman - 11

Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman

Spoiler

After learning from Yuki of Perry’s plans to control Japan, with Koharu as a proxy, Roman and company make their way to the Shining Dawn, Perry’s battleship, with some help from Gennai’s flying contraption/invention. While the others (Gennai, Kanade, Hans) handle things topside, Roman makes his way below with Sakura and he soon encounters, Conte (the red-haired gunman), Perry’s loyal follower. Magoichi shows up and tells Roman to go on ahead while he deals with Conte and though Magoichi dons his armor, Conte proves to be a capable individual.

Roman finds his way to Perry and Koharu, who is dressed up in Western gown and is behaving strangely, telling Roman about the failings of the current Bakufu and that she wants to destroy it, along with Perry. A battered Magoichi stumbles in as a following Conte’s demeanor has changed. Perry activates a laser cannon that strikes into the heart of Edo, leaving destruction in it’s wake. Roman is angered at the action and as he dons his armor, Perry reveals a mechanical arm.

  • lol @ Kanade’s boobs getting some screen time/focus.
  • Was hoping for some sort of ‘gunfight’ between Magoichi and Conte.
  • Perry apparently is bilingual.

Satisfying end to SSY.

Spoiler

My thoughts when watching the first few minutes of the episode. “Well shit, wasn’t expecting things to settle itself that quickly…”

Posting the ED once more to remember the series by

Sasami-San had a great episode this week too.

Psycho-Pass 22

[details=Spoiler]I’m a bit disappointed with the ending, as I was hoping that these events would have triggered a bigger ripple effect on the Sibyl System and their society. From a story perspective, the ending feels a bit lack luster with the events having a seemingly minimal impact on the grand scheme of things; however, I feel that Psycho-Pass was more of a character driven story and in this regards it was executed extremely well. The focus on the character dynamic between Kogami, Akane, and Makashima was very interesting but I wanted to see a bit more exploration to this. It was a nice touch seeing things come to a full circle with Kogami gone and Akane taking over his former role, as the new recruit is introduced. You get that sense of closure with the majority of the characters but left wanting more in the storyline, which is usually not the case in most shows.

The fight scene with Kogami and Makashima at the end was awesome, especially with that clutch block from Kogami when it looked like Makashima had the upper hand. Makashima resigning himself to death at the end was anti-climatic but at the same time it seemed fitting to his character, especially with his last lines.

As I stated in a previous post, the character development for the supporting cast was really weak and they were mostly throw away that weren’t thrown away to help further the character development/story earlier on. Yayoi’s back story episode served absolutely no purpose in the TV series but there was a lot of potential for something to come out of that episode. If that episode aired prior to the Rikako arc they could have developed a story arc using the after math of that episode. It actually wouldn’t have been that hard to do given an extra 4 episodes to round out the series to 26 episodes, which was more common in the past.

Overall, the series was really good but I think I went into it with higher expectations (given Urobuchi’s previous works) and ended up a little disappointed with it in the end. I’m going to initially rate Psycho-Pass a 7/10 but I’ll need to re-watch the series when the Blu-Rays come out before finalizing a score.[/details]

Spoiler

Shoulda picked Rika. I would’ve. But that’s where Kodaka tangles up feeling and shit. Both Sena and Yozora had always had a hard time with others except him. That flaw in their social life can be a reason why Kodaka could pick them out of pity. Rika on the other hand could totally make do without Kodaka. She’s the most independent of the group and could easily get another guy with that charming openness. The rest we need not mention.

I agree with everything said about Kodaka

That was pretty much the worst episode. The whole thing just showed how much of a sell out, soulless cunt that she was. I was hoping that would come back to haunt her but nothing…

Spoiler

While I don’t mind Yayoi or Shion, I was thinking they would kill both of them off during the raid on their headquarters to drive home Makashima’s presence as the villain of the series but alas nothing.

Spoiler

Rika didn’t do shit during the first season and was in the same league as Maria, Maid and Imouto. She was just a silly non character with no hope of winning because she was just a joke character. They must of expended all of their writing creativity trying to make her a viable contender by changing her hair, then hair and clothes every episode and calling it character development because Sena’s confession was the most awkward piece of plot development I have just seen. Like…she just “forgot” that she was in front of everyone and confessed her love and said they should get married, then acted all embarrassed. like, the staff realized they had squandered the entire second season and realized they needed to do something with the triangle romance. Like, how do you just…let a long, drawn out and rationally explained confession just “slip out”? Whatever, Kodaka’s desperate attempt to friendzone her was hilarious. Of course, I think him being aware of the harem, but just wanting to friendzone them all is just a massive retcon. I mean, he is just supposed to be a normal guy who doesn’t have friends because he looks scary. For a normal, high school aged male he sure has an aversion to girls with big tits

Still predicting a “harem forever” ending. Presumably maid san and Yozora are going to firm their resolve as well…

Robotics;Notes - 22 (END)

Robotics Notes 22 END

Spoiler

The GunPro-2 and it’s support crew arrives at the rocket launch site that is guarded by Misa in the SUMERAGI robot. The SUMERAGI begins to launch some missiles, but they are unable to find their mark due to the AR Decoy program (sent by Sawada) throwing off their guidance systems through the usage of clones. One errant missile manages to approach GunPro-2, but Kai manages to react in time (with help from Aki and slo-mo device), though the robot’s left arm/pile bunker is destroyed. The two robots then engage at close-range battle and Kai is able to knock back the SUMERAGI with a boost from the monopole motors and a counter-attack with the remaining pile bunker and another slo-mo activation. The SUMERAGI appears to be down, but it transforms into a bipedal mode, which charges the support crew, scattering it and the primary powering array for GunPro-2, resulting in the robot only to be able to act on it’s limited reserve energy.

Kimijima appears and assumes control of Misa. Nae also reports in saying that she is unable to stop the rocket launch due to Kimijima presence. At this time, Kona receives a program from Sawada (the AR Missile) that will be able to delete Kimijima but requires a reboot of the PokeCom. Kai begins the reboot but in doing so loses PokeCom function for a short while, which Kimijima uses to his advantage and moves in to attack. Aki rushes out to buy some time for Kai and she tries to rouse Misa to awaken and almost get harmed in the process, but Kai is able to save her. Kai and Misa engage in one last exchange, reminiscent of their Kill-Ballad battles and Kai is able to blow open the cockpit of the SUMERAGI with some assistance from Aki and the slo-mo device. Though Misa ‘speaks’, it is Kimijima who is talking, but Aki makes one last plea to her sister to remember her past self and dreams, causing Misa to resist Kimijima’s control. Kai seizes the opportunity and initiates the AR Missile program to delete Kimijima and though Kimijima realizes that he has lost and could still exist, Kai states that Kimijima would be defeated again if he were to return. Nae is able to stop the rocket launch upon Kimijima’s defeat. With Misa rescued, Aki is reunited with her sister once more and crisis is averted. After their victory, the Robotics Club returns to the hangar and cheered/congratulated by their friends and supporters for their efforts.

-Thoughts-
I felt that the show was okay for the most part, with some buildup here-and-there, especially in the last chunk of episodes, but the end just kind of… happened. And with not much explanation. It would’ve been nice to get more development with the other chars to showcase more of their personal investment in the building of the Robotics Club’s projects, as a whole. The mystery was there and the change in tone built up for a confrontation at the end, which was a bit underwhelming, and things just resolved the way they did, leaving one to possibly have questions about some things after the end.

Robot stuffs were cool, though limited, as the show could’ve easily showcased more battling robot stuffs (besides Kill-Ballad stuffs), but didn’t. Aki and Kai were par for the course as childhood friends, Junna was just ‘there’, Subaru’s alter-ego was amusing, and Kona had a pretty quirky personality. Appearance/addition of Nae was interesting surprise though.

Zetsuen no Tempest - 23

Zetsuen no Tempest 23

Spoiler

Though having no initial part in the plan to destroy the pillar core of the Tree of Genesis, Mahiro and Yoshino ask to become involved: Mahiro being the one who came up with a plan of action to see it through and Yoshino wanting to be there to support his friends and comrades, though his presence would worry Hakaze. Hanemura stresses on the role he has to play, but Mahiro reassures him that his role is the most important as he is the only one who can directly oppose the Tree of Genesis.

On the day of confrontation, the plan is set into motion, with Mahiro providing and explanation for everyone’s roles and the plan itself: to draw away the fleet that is protecting the pillar so that they move into an area where Kusaribe magic is effective, all the while minimizing the chance for casualties. Samon has a role that will likely be showcased later. Hakaze and Hanemura take the other’s role (identity switch) in an attempt to confuse the fleet forces with their actions through scripted fighting. Mahiro and Yoshino, Fraulein (Evangeline), and Junichiro, take control of the survey ships and get them to withdraw from their positions. Later, Tetsuma switches out with Hanemura allowing him to secretly approach the pillar undetected. Things are going according to plan, until Yoshino is shot by one of the survey crew and Mahiro can only react to the event. Hanemura makes his way to the pillar, with his part of the confrontation soon at hand.

  • Casual-mode Fraulein along with Tetsuma and Natsumura was an amusing sight.
  • lol @ Junichiro’s prep stuffs - bringing along erotic picture books to improve his concentration/focus.
  • The battle sequence was a pretty awesome showcase of ability.
  • How will Hakaze react to Yoshino getting shot?
  • What’s Samon (and Natsumura) gonna do?

Vividred Operation - 11

Vividred Operation 11

Spoiler

Rei is taken into custody at a UDF headquarters facility, but not before encountering the rest of the girls and calling them liars, besides Akane. While Rei is questioned and examined, Dr. Isshiki comes to the realization that Rei is from another world and that her presence is tied into the appearance of the Alone. Isshiki also notes that though Rei appears to be a human, her abilities/genetic makeup are quite unique but that may not be enough to sway the military higher-ups who want to execute Rei in order to save/preserve this world.

Akane, Aoi, Wakaba, and Himawari are unable to talk to Rei and instead go to her apartment and discover that it is an empty place. There, each girl thinks about Rei through the contact they have had with her. It seems that the girls have a plan and resolve to want to become friends with Rei and understand her more. The girls suit up and charge the facility where Rei is at and Akane is the one who confronts Rei while the others buy her time to do so. Rei doesn’t apparently want to talk to Akane, but Akane manages to get through to her (literally) as she frees Rei from her cell.

Though all the girls are reunited, Dr. Isshiki appears and makes note of the dilemma concerning Rei and his decision to help separate her from the Alone as their ‘beacon’. Rei tells the others what she had fought for - a chance to restore her lost world. The Crow appears and addresses the gathered group as a sort of intermediary between humanity and a higher power of supreme beings, who are testing humanity regarding the usage of the Incarnate/Manifestation energy. Rei’s fate was a test, but according to the Crow, the ‘test’ wasn’t meant to be winnable and the results ‘mistaken’ and soon to be rectified. While the girls look on in shock, the Crow engulfs Rei, taking in the borrowed power bestowed upon her and transforms into an ominous-looking entity.

  • Dr. Isshiki’s speech was kinda cool.
  • Friendship has the power to resolve conflicts between the girls.
  • That scene… I wasn’t expecting that, at all.
  • The ‘last boss’ has appeared.

They be making a 3rd Nanoha film. Better not be StrikerS.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-03-23/magical-girl-lyrical-nanoha-anime-gets-3rd-film

She was a joke in the first, but with the recent episodes, she had made more moves on him than any character in the course of 2 seasons. Rika deserves points in that regard and if this was an eroge, she’d be winning.

It’s pretty pointless get mad at Kodaka or complain about any kind of romance subplot in Haganai since we all know it’s not gonna mean shit by the end of the season. Sigh.

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-03-23/fafner-exodus-sequel-to-be-26-episode-tv-series

Oh Damn Fafner getting a sequel after 9 years.

The latest chapter of Vinland Saga was pretty sick.

http://en.shindanmaker.com/285692

What is your Crime Coefficient level?

Mine’s 110.

Nonsense, even in eroge, the character who comes onto the main character strongly has to do a about face turn and become all shy and coy the moment she actually gets chosen. It goes against Japanese rationality to have a girl who might actually want or enjoy sex. Clearly, its just a desperate coping mechanism that would fall apart the minute anybody paid her any attention.

AKB0048: So, AKB48 has gone from, the last source of entertainment in the galaxy to…Jedi songstresses to…some kind of Intergalactic pop messiah that transcends space and time.

Your opinion? This series really brings out the Tim “Toolman” Taylor in me. Raising Heart Excellion ACS AHH-AHH-AHH-AHH! Could have done without the loli nipples during those long ass transformations.

I don’t care for StrikerS either but given Seven Arcs’ treatment of the first two season movie, I’m sure they’ll cut the training down to a 3 minute montage and get to the good parts quickly. People are speculating that since the epilogue wasn’t as far into the future as the original version, the 3rd movie will be with them at high school age.

Damn my CC was 445 I’m fucking Jack the Ripper or some shit

If I put just Alex my CC is 120 but I’m an Inspector, if I put just my first and last name it’s 355, but if I put my full name my CC is just 2 lol

Shinsekai Yori 25 Finale

[details=Spoiler]Good stuff! Beautiful ending.

I didn’t see the DNA stuff coming, but I did have a gut feeling the queerats were upset humans took something from them and none of the humans were admitting it. I’d hate them too if I was in their position.
