I agree with the assessment of posting more impressions with spoilers (I’m sorta guilty of that, yeah). Most of what’s been mentioned about current shows like Psycho Pass or SSY have already been said and there’s not much more to add regarding “the usual” which Kromo has mentioned.

Regardless, Manabe needs to get back to posting more manga.

Fairy Tail only got good at the Edolas arc. Past that the series has been gold as far as shonen is concerned. Anime should be ending in the next 1-2 episodes. I think the mangaka said the anime won’t be completely over but he still hasn’t made his announcement about the series just yet.

Shokugeki no Soma might be interesting to people if they enjoyed Yakitate! Japan.

Outside of edolas, the show has literally every lazy shonen writing aspect people hate so much. Some shit i don’t even see in naruto or one piece.

  1. present an arc where the villain is a villain just because. Literally every arc other than edolas
  2. have natsu get some bullcrap power up out of no where. Literally every arc other than edolas
  3. misplaced comedy Literally every arc
  4. not a cliche but why the fuck is Shanks there?
  5. no one ever dies, things always resolve perfectly
  6. and the most important aspect, is that fairy tail never, ever, EVER loses. Its not even like they win by being clever, its just the writer saying they won just cause, and giving them ANOTHER bullshit powerup.

I just thought people continued to read fairy tail because it had cute chicks in it. I knew 3 or so volumes in that it would be typical shounen hot garbage. I guess there always needs to be a shounen top dog and fairy tail just kind of fell into that position, so everyone feels they have to read it. I’ll give it another 2 years of dominance before some other hot blooded spunky young lad captivates the hearts of manga plebs everywhere. And some super hot girl side kick of course.
