I’ve watched about 50 episodes of Gintama. A lot of it is character hijinks and taking the piss out of both itself and other series. It’s pretty funny, if you watched and liked Sket Dance you’d like this too since they’re both similar in style.
As for that KyoAni swimming video, it’s just a simple commercial to promote themselves. They’ve made others in the past before. I suspect it’s just something they do as a creative outlet without any real repercussions. I mean it’s their commercial so they can include whatever the hell they want in it without having to take shit from the sponsors and all that. Well that’s one of the reasons why I think they do it, I could be waaay off the mark and just spewing a load of bull though lol
Definitely watch it. I’ve never had a show make me laugh as hard as Gintama. You just have to make it through the first 20 episodes (character intro’s) and the show just takes off. The Death Note episode was probably one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
Great, now I want to retry Gintama again. I think I did drop it before ep 20 though.
Never even heard of it. Doesn’t particular excite me though. The one live action I did watch was Liar Game, ad it was only bearable due to the level of math, calculating and scheming involved, but the acting was overall pretty horrid and the production value was pretty iffy for my taste.
Yeah, they’re not going to finish the current arc since it’s still ongoing in the manga. The mangaka says he’s going to have some special announcement later on.
Just finished them both came in here to post the same exact statement.
Gonna watch Psycho Pass from start to ep20 over the weekend I’m almost sad to see it end now. Makishima real talk I cant even hate the guy anymore.
Blade Tempest was just fantastic, knowing what was gonna happen vs seeing it…I couldnt ask for a better episode.
Is it just me or is this the first time we’ve seen Akane actually pissed off? And also seriously, the development over the series from rookie inspector to pretty much daring the Sybil System to kill her and rooting around in a dead man’s neck for evidence, and it was pulled off so naturally, bloody hell.
Seriously day one buy as soon as Funi get them disks out.
[details=Spoiler]Love the character development payoff of this episode. It was a great culmination of everything Akane has been around playing a part of her character advancement. Meeting with KO’s professor, taking serious notes on her KO dissects crime scenes, using her conversations with friends about raison d’ etre and using her friends death as a reference point to Makishimas calling card were all fantastically executed. What’s more interesting is that everything is leading up to the intersecting point of the present confronting the past. Akane using “archaic” detective work, Kougami closing his longstanding search to avenge his friend and Makishima pulling the curtain away from the great Wizards booth.
Oh yeah I forgot to how I absolutely loved the visual symbolism we got with her finally driving the car, not being a passenger and not letting the computer A.I autopilot for her. [/details]*
