Zetsuen no Tempest - 21
Zetsuen no Tempest 21
Spoiler
In the time after Hakaze had traveled to the past, a huge tree-like object has materialized somewhere in the ocean in the present time period. As the rest of the world wonders what it could mean, Samon’s group speculate it to be the ‘core’ of the Tree of Genesis. Evangeline leads a discussion about it’s purpose: a test for humanity to defeat it, with failure resulting in the world being destroyed and reset if the allotted time period has passed.
The initial encounter between Hakaze and Aika moves to a riverside location where Aika is brought up to speed on the situation by Hakaze, specifically of her impending fate of death that very evening, but Aika appears to take it all in stride. Aika says that there are worse things than death - like the destruction of the human race if they are unable to beat the Tree of Genesis. The convo then shifts back to the topic of Aika’s death, with Aika wondering about the scenario herself. Aika figures out who is responsible for her death - herself. The roles of victim, detective, and murderer is none other than Aika. The reason for Aika’s death is to give Hakaze the motivation to defeat the Tree of Genesis after her meeting with Mahiro and Yoshino. Hakaze doesn’t know what to make of it and though Aika is calm about how things will result for her, Hakaze rejects the idea, specifically for the sake of Mahiro and Yoshino who will suffer for her loss, that this scenario is tragic. Aika reacts to Hakaze’s outburst with a punch, prompting Hakaze to take matters into her own hands to maybe even stop Aika herself. Though Aika becomes binded by Hakaze’s power, it isn’t enough because Aika is easily able to break free and she highlights the differences between the magic wielded by the Kusaribe Princess/Tree of Genesis (which apparently is limited due to offerings) compared to that of the Mage of Exodus (unable to be bound by the power of Genesis).
Hakaze goes on the offensive with her barrier (like how she did against Hanemura) but Aika is easily able to defend/evade the attacks, cutting down Hakaze’s attacks with magical weapons. Both girls claim to act for the sake of Mahiro and Yoshino over the rest of the world, with Aika reflecting on her time with the two guys - who had accepted her unlike so many others. Hakaze tries to go on the offensive with a strong attack, but Aika charges and breaks through Hakaze’s barrier and knocks her down. Aika then goes to subdue Hakaze but not before telling her about another caveat about the difference in their magic - the stronger the magic used via an offering by Hakaze, the stronger the magic that is able to be used by Aika. After Aika puts Hakaze to sleep, she begins to make her way home for her destined fate while reciting some lines from Hamlet/The Tempest and remembering her time with Mahiro and Yoshino.
Later, Hakaze awakens and rushes off to Aika’s home, thinking that she may be able to stop Aika, but it is too late. On a nearby table, Hakaze finds a note and a letter, the note being from Aika, telling of a request to deliver the letter to Mahiro and Yoshino after The Tree of Genesis is defeated in the present time. Hakaze then rushes out of the house and later finds herself at the Fuwa Family gravesite, crying out in anguish that she wasn’t able to do anything. The next morning, a crowd is outside the Fuwa home and Hakaze spots Mahiro through a window. A while after she leaves, Hakaze spots Yoshino who is running toward the Fuwa residence. Though she looks sad, after having seen both Mahiro and Yoshino after the event of Aika’s death, the look in her eyes/on her face changes as Hakaze realizes what she has to do back in the present time - defeat The Tree of Genesis.

Kimijima continues his story and tells Aki, Kai, and the others about the incident aboard the SS Anemone, which was an EM irradiation experiment to test the transfer of his consciousness to the network. Misa had found out about it and had stopped Kimijima, saving Aki and Kai in the process. However, Kimijima continued to ‘haunt’ Misa long after his death and though Misa was able to resist, Kimijima showed that he could affect those she cared about - Aki and Kai. That event finally causes Misa to break. Mitsuhiko and his uncle also use their PokeComs to view the speaking, Kimijima, and Mitsuhiko is even broadcasting/streaming the event, which ends up being viewed by those back in Tanegashima - Subaru, Junna, Kona and Nae, and probably others.
Aki has just about had enough of Kimijima’s talk and she interrupts, asking Kimijima if Misa still loved robots, to which he replies saying that she played the Kill-Ballad game from time to time. Reassured that her sister remembered her (their) dream, Aki gives a speech about robots being their connection to each other and that she would stop Kimijima and save her sister with a robot. Kimijima taunts Aki, but not before threatening the safety of Airi as well as Misa’s safety before having Airi point the gun at her own head. The parrot of Mitsuhiko’s uncle flies in to knock the gun out of her hand just before the gun goes off. As Kai and Aki go to check on Airi, Mitsuhiko’s uncle looks around with his PokeCom and sees that Kimijima isn’t around anymore. Back in Tanegashima, the former members of the Robotics Club: Subaru, Junna, and Kona, along with Nae and Doc gather at the hangar where GunPro-1 is after the broadcast featuring Aki’s speech, the group seeming to having something in mind. Elsewhere, at the rained out cliff-side site of Mizuka’s accident, Misa recalls the past event where Mizuka has asked her about what had happened following the events on the SS Anemone. As Misa tries to take her own life, she is unable to due to Kimijima’s influences, who continues to taunt her even now.
While en route back to Tanegashima, particularly the old Tanegashima airport, the plane is over Tanegashima, with Aki and Kai having differing thoughts about their home - Aki calling it ‘small’ and Kai calling it ‘big’. The plane crash lands near the hangar but remains intact. Aki and Kai are reunited with the others after they disembark the plane and Airi is formally introduced, with Kona taking a particular liking to her. The group then regroups at the school while Tanegashima is suffering from fallout due to the (fake) solar flare news as well as the occupation of the JAXA facility by Misa’s group. In a meeting, a plan is discussed to outfit GunPro-1 with monopole motors for better movement as well as equipping it with a pile-bunker. Nae outlines the situation: the group that has taken over the JAXA facility plans to launch a black hole bomb with a rocket once the weather clears and that they need to outfit GunPro-1 during that waiting period so that they are able to take on the SUMERAGI robot that guards the launch site in order to be able to stop the launch, otherwise millions of lives could be lost. The situation is more severe for Aki as her family is involved, with her father being a hostage and Misa being present as part of Kimijima’s plan.
Back at the hangar, roles have been assigned: Subaru and Doc are to oversee the mods of GunPro-1, with Junna providing support to Subaru. Kona is asked to look over the program given to Kai from Sawada, a countermeasure against the SUMERAGI. Kai also has plans to go off somewhere with the EM wave projection device (which causes illusions to appear) to have it analyzed and hopefully be used in some fashion against Kimijima. Later, the principal comes by the hangar and reinstates the Robotics Club, Mitsuhiko arrives with a truckload of snacks and drinks, fellow classmates are seen making their way to the hangar, Mitsuhiko’s uncle brings a heavy machine crew, and Nae arrives with some engineers from JAXA - even Subaru’s father makes an appearance. Tanegashima has turned up in force to support the efforts of Aki, Kai, and the Robotics Club.
At the JAXA facility, Misa continues to be plagued by Kimijima’s influence, which causes her to tell her father to get away from her before she is able to harm him. Misa then takes hold of a PokeCom and tells Airi’s alter-ego that she is ‘released’ and to go to Aki and Kai via a transfer of a mysterious Report No.0.
Vividred Operation - 09
Vividred Operation 09
Spoiler
While Wakaba and Himawari are cruising around town, besides spotting Akane working at a part-time job with Aoi who is keeping an eye on her, as well as Wakaba fending off guys from hitting on Himawari, the pair are approached by a magazine agent who wants to feature Himawari in a photo-shoot. Wakaba accepts on Himawari’s behalf and the photo-shoot turns out to be a success. The next day at school, Akane and Aoi learn of Himawari’s budding modeling career. Wakaba enters the classroom and apparently has some news and when Himawari is about to remind her that they are supposed to go on a factory tour on Sunday, Wakaba says that there happens to be a scheduled photo-shoot for that day. The announcement doesn’t sit well with Himawari as she runs out of the room and thinks that Wakaba forgot about the previous plan they had made. Wakaba remembers and chases after Himawari, apologizing about the mistake, but Himawari decides to attend the photo-shoot and forgives Wakaba with a certain ‘condition’ in mind.
Sunday rolls around and the photo-shoot is at a seaside location and in between photos, Himawari has Wakaba in an assistant/servant role attending to her every need. When Wakaba goes off to retrieve something for Himawari, Himawari falls asleep for a bit and an assistant to the magazine agent switches out Himawari’s hairpins for something else. Wakaba soon arrives and Himawari wakes up, but it starts raining, forcing the photo-shoot to move elsewhere for the time being. Before they leave, Wakaba notices that Himawari’s hairpins are in the sand and she picks them up for safekeeping.
The photo-shoot concludes inside a mall and afterwards as Himawari is brushing her hair, she notices that the hairpins that she has on aren’t her own. She then returns to the seaside location where they were previously and though the sun is back out after the rain has stopped, the tide has come in and covered up the sand area. Rei is also present and she makes a comment to Himawari about not giving up her search for her hairpins, though it means more to Rei considering her situation (the not giving up part). Wakaba arrives to find Himawari searching in the water and she tells her that she has the hairpins that Himawari though she had lost. Afterwards, Himawari is relieved to know that the hairpins are safe - the hairpins being a treasured gift from Wakaba. The girls then get a call on their phones.
An Alone has appeared high up in the atmosphere and is on a descent course with Blue Island. Akane and Aoi transform into Vividblue and go out to stop it but they are unable to approach due to a laser barrage. Wakaba and Himawari arrive shortly and manage to break/make a path for Vividblue, who charges in and destroys the Alone. Elsewhere, Rei is chastised by the Crow who tells her that she was too late in making the Alone transform.
Later on, the girls are hanging out and Himawari apparently has a plan to go on a year-round factory tour every Sunday with Wakaba who laments at the loss of her free time. Rei is reflecting on her mistake and makes a promise to get back the ‘world’ that she lost.
