So I watched the Blood-C movie. Like Killey said, it was kind of disappointing in the end. Ending could’ve been a lot better. It just kind of… ended. Overall, the movie was just okay. Did it make up for the TV series being so bleh? I don’t know, to be honest. I honestly thought the movie was going to be Saya on a bloody warpath, killing practically everything in her way in the name of revenge (ironically the movie was less brutally violent than the TV series). The whole “secret shady corporation” angle was pretty bleh and felt forced. Xxxholic tie in felt pretty forced and unnecessary as well. The Blood series is its own universe, not a Clamp universe. Oh well it doesn’t make a big difference anyways.
Movie would’ve been better if Saya had an eyepatch/bandage, was a cyborg, and the movie had been titled Blood-C: Revengeance.
i feel like everyone should see eva at least once. just to at least know where we came from, it was a big influence on anime in the 90’s and early 2000’s…def was a game changer
at the time mech and story…now its pretty easy to think it wasnt. but at the time it was def different from all the stories out and what had been done.
wait…you were expecting the blood C movie to be good?..i fucking hated the tv series, it was a disaster, everyone in here can hate on blood+ as much as they want, that shit was still way better than CLAMPs rendition of blood. now XXXholic is my shit, i might check out the movie just to see what kind of tie in there was.
It had potential to be good, since the TV series was a set up for the movie, pretty much. There actually WERE some good points in the TV series, but the problem is that it took way too long for things to even get interesting.
The concept of reviving the Blood franchise with a collaboration between Clamp & Production I.G. with tie in’s to XXXholic sounded awesome; it just wasn’t executed properly. I enjoyed the tv series for what it was and was expecting a little bit more from the movie because the build up was done and we could get into the core of the story with no holds barred violence. Instead we got a lot of procrastination followed by the most anti-climatic final battle ever.
If you didn’t enjoy the tv series then don’t bother watching the movie. The XXXHolic tie-in was like 10 minutes tops and didn’t really serve any purpose both in the tv series and in the movie. It was just CLAMP forcing their universe to cross over into the Blood universe.
You have to see the movie. Although they don’t say it has any relation to the series, if I recall correctly, there was a moment where they indicated the existence of the events in the movie. Also the movie has great classical OST. It’s a 9+ out of 10.
Speaking of xxxholic did anybody check out the live action series? I skimmed through episode 1 and it looked aweful. lol It straight up looked like a JAV.
