Hmm. Mutta sure got easily paranoid after hearing about the two year training from Murasaki, but that’s pretty much common with his character and the stakes at hand. I’m pretty sure we’ll eventually hear about the deal with Nitta and his little brother, but that fortune telling with Amanti seemed like a bad omen for Mutta…next week might be the start of it.
I don’t think Kiroumaru is the type to stoop to such underhanded tactics. He seems too proud and too loyal to Humans to be siding with Squealer. This was the same dude who experienced Squealers scumbagness first hand during that one council meeting where he was shoveling out lies upon lies. If there’s anything he wants more, it’s probably to see Squealer dead by his own hands. Especially now that he’s on edge from having his whole colony and entire troop count wiped out. He has just as much hatred for Squealer, if not more than the Humans do.
One of the most defining and memorable features of Higurashi will always be some of the faces they make (which I like to affectionately call face-warps). They’ve pretty much become a series stable and one of it’s charming points for me by now lol (Sadly Mion gets the brunt of it all though it seems lol)
They don’t happen as often with the later productions, but they still do pop up every now and then and I’ll still be cheering the next time I catch one lol
The warp faces gave me the impression the artists tried to convey a face of insanity. While it accomplished that goal, it also looked really fucked-up silly and off-putting.
Anyone tried reading Black Joke. It’s a fun read if you are wanting something like Black Lagoon but a bit more masculine and painful. Much like my cock.
The dungeon of Zagan is a surreal environment, full of strange sights and talking creatures that want to eat the group for some reason. Though the lesser inhabitants are paid no heed, a large ‘bear’ confronts the group, prompting them to act in their defense. Hakuryuu is unable to act in this encounter, freezing in his tracks, but Morgiana saves him, while the duo of Alibaba and Aladdin team up and send the ‘bear’ running.
In an orchard made up of the missing villagers from Toran, the group encounters the djinn, Zagan, who tells them that he doesn’t really care for humans other than as a source of nourishment for his dungeon creatures. Hakuryuu remembers the little girl’s plea of help and tries to rally to action, but Zagan decides to make a game of it and retreats to his treasure room after showing the group that he has taken the little girl from earlier hostage, telling the group to chase after him. As the group makes their way across a chasm, they are attacked by some dungeon dwellers turned vicious by Zagan’s song. Once again, Hakuryuu’s efforts are futile and the trio takes care of business.
The group is then separated into pairs: Alibaba/Aladdin, Hakuryuu/Morgiana. The first pair easily deals with some golems that are susceptible to magic and Alibaba has a thought about Hakuryuu. The second duo is having a bit of a harder time with the golems as neither really possess any magic. Though Morgiana’s physical attacks are ineffective, Hakuryuu is able to channel his ‘ki’ into his polearm weapon to strike down the golems. However, each ‘ki’ attack weakens Hakuryuu, who insists that he should be able to fight on his own. Morgiana realizes that Hakuryuu reminds her a bit of how Alibaba was before and tells him that she will help him out. As she uses her wits to take out the golems with a golem, Hakuryuu passes out from exhaustion.
Hakuryuu awakens from a dream that features a significant event from his past and comes to with the fully reunited group standing over him. Zagan voice is heard, taunting at Hakuryuu and calling him a weak link. The comments hit home as Hakuryuu breaks down cursing his hopelessness, who then flings some interesting comments at the rest of the group, even Zagan, resulting in the trio being surprised at the sudden action/reaction of the Kou prince. Hakuryuu then collects himself and insists that the group go on without him, but Alibaba makes the comment that he was once like Hakuryuu; took on the burden by himself and not asking for help. Alibaba opens up a bit, making Hakuryuu realize that he isn’t alone, and the two princes form a bond to push forward together.

[]Haruka receives two movie tickets from Takeru. At school, Hayami tells Hosaka about a popular romantic movie that is trending and he begins to fantasize about spending the moment with Haruka and her children sisters.
[]Natsuki receives the movie tickets from Haruka as a gift of thanks for helping out with the BBQ. However, he sees the tickets as only one and he ends up giving it to Hitomi.
[]At the Minami residence, Hitomi wonders what to do with the ‘ticket’ and she finds out that it’s a pair of tickets. She wonders who to take to see the movie.
[]Fujioka stops by and Kana suggests that Hitomi and Fujioka go together. The ‘Hitomi x Fujioka’ paring has the two of them engaging in a variety of moments where the duo is in sync, with Kana saying that they are a good fit for each other. The topic then changes to expression of ideas/feelings and Fujioka admits that even if he were to tell who he likes (Kana) how he felt about her, she wouldn’t notice.
[]At school, Natsuki mulls over on situation regarding Touma. Hitomi sees it as a chance to talk to him but the topic of expression comes up and though Hitomi ‘tells’ Natsuki how she feels about him (in a roundabout fashion), Natsuki takes it as advice to use in order to deal with Touma.
[]Kana proposes a study group session and Riko sees it as another chance to spend some time with Fujioka and maybe express her feelings towards him. She decides to make some cookies but she finds herself too focused on the finer details of the process (ingredient measurement). At the study group, Kana notices the cookies and says that they are palatable, though the comment from Fujioka is the one that Riko cares about the most when he says that he enjoys them, yet she still is worrying about the finer detail point that are brought up by the others.

Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman - 09
Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman 09
Spoiler
Kanade engages Magoichi in battle and proves to be a worthy adversary. However, when Magoichi is injured by an errant projectile, Kanade moves in to finish him but Magoichi surprises her when he shows no signs of visible pain, a particular trademark for the assassin, and knocks her out instead. The next day, Koharu wonders where Roman is and Magoichi stops by the shop. She sees his leg wound and after she bandages it, Magoichi’s boss also makes an appearance, stating that the ‘spring cherry blossom’ has been found - Koharu, who is apparently a princess.
As Roman returns home, he rescues a boy who is about to be trampled by a cart. Upon entry of the shop, he notices that Koharu is absent and that Sakura is injured. The wounded, Kanade, makes an appearance as well and after she is taken to Dr. Hans to have her injuries checked out, Seibei makes an appearance and tells Roman a tale about his father, Jirokichi.
When Jirokichi was younger, he had planned to raid the imperial treasury on his own and without Seibei. Once inside, he meets a young boy who is sheltered but knowledgeable and the two become friends. That boy is named Iesada, a member of the Tokugawa line. Yeares later, Iesada is ill and he asks Jirokichi to look after his daughter, the princess, Haru. Jirokichi agrees to the request and he receives the powered armor to aid in his efforts and he also takes a pair of chopsticks with the Tokugawa crest as a keepsake for Haru. Later, Jirokichi introduces Haru to a young Roman as a ‘sister’ and they live on as a family, with Jirokichi becoming a ‘Helper’. However, the peace is shattered years later when Jirokichi is confronted by Magoichi’s boss on the whereabouts of Haru. In a final attempt to protect Haru, Jirokichi tells Roman to look after her and sends him off to be in the care of Gennai, the inventions maker in the city, before thwarting his pursuers in an act of sacrifice. Kanade continues the story saying that she and Sakura were made to be caretakers of Haru and to watch over and protect her. After the story concludes, Roman asks the others to help him get Koharu back.
Magoichi and his boss are at their hideout with Koharu, who is knocked out/sleeping. With their work in the city finished, Magoichi decides to take one last stroll as a patrolman. He later encounters his boss who invites him for a drink and though Magoichi usually turns down any offers to socialize, he decides to oblige. The patrol boss tells him that he’s remembering his son who had passed away. The concept of feeling being foreign to Magoichi, the patrol boss enlightens him on his POV regarding the subject on feelings/memories. Elsewhere, Okuni receives a note regarding the ‘spring cherry blossom’.
When Magoichi returns to the hideout, Roman arrives shortly after him and he manages to gain the upper hand by donning the armor. However, Magoichi surprises Roman with his own enhanced power suit and he is able to turn the tide in his favor. As Magoichi goes to finish Roman off, Roman mounts a counter-offensive and knocks out Magoichi, who apparently ‘felt’ something different within himself in the last exchange as his leg wound opens up. Seeing that Magoichi has been defeated, his boss retreats into the hideout to retrieve and escape with Koharu, but he finds out that she isn’t there though there is someone hiding in the shadows. When Roman and company enter afterwards, they find that the man is dead, with claw marks on his face and Koharu is nowhere to be found. Roman realizes that Okuni was just here.
Somewhere on a warship, Koharu is delivered to Magoichi’s gun rival by Okuni. The man then takes a moment to address his superior - Admiral Perry.
Finally got over my aversion to Evangelion after watching the tv series and not being particularily impressed, and watched 1.11.
I liked it.
There were a lot of parts that made me smile.
