Anime & Manga Thread v.5 FAQ/IRC: See OP. Welcome to 2017

 @ perpetual asshole gimmick dude complaining about people being an asshole because they think he’s being whiny about shit that doesn’t even matter.

gimmick?

no brah I’m an asshole irl, and in my dreams…assholeception.

Theres a new toonami ON adult swim

His dere would be weird as fuck and we’d probably beg for the tsun to come back. Like when Vince was begging Stone Cold to hit him with a guitar.

The best gimmick in this thread is Kromo. Angelpalm gonna have to try a whole lot harder in trolling if he wants to get his senpai to notice him.

Its not even the niche i am mad about. Its just that there hasn’t even been any attempts to at least evolve that.
No jokes are changed. They are the same

No characters are changed. They have different names but they are the same

The plot? The same

The setting? the same

The problems? Sometimes season for season you could argue that a good chunk of the shows are exactly the same

The resolutions? The fucking same.

A lot of these animes are done by assholes trying to cash in to idiot otakus who’ve never felt the touch of a women and worship 2d figures, and the few that legit enjoy it. Like damn, at least change the setting. Its all high school. Even when they do change the setting the characters are so cut and paste the setting might as well be high school, like Servant x Service.

At least shonen is trying to innovate with each new story every year. Watching that genre of anime at this point is like buying 2k, madden, and cod every year. Its the same shit over and over and over.

There have been shows with cute things as a focus that i enjoy. The world that god only knows actually attempts to give these characters personality outside of their generic anime base. They succeed which is why I believe that show is better written than a good chunk of the anime industry.

I wasn’t wondering if there was more content moreso I was wondering if the ending got changed in the transition from light novel/manga to anime as it felt incongruous with the rest of the series. I will also agree that it’s a pretty pointless series though it’s not even the most pointless thing I’ve watched in the last ~6 months (that title would go to Sankarea). That said I think that Oreimo is (other than not being that good of a series) unique in that it’s the first series that I’ve encountered in a long time where almost all of the secondary characters (Kuroneko, Saori, Manami, etc.) seem more interesting and/or tolerable than either of the main characters.

On an unrelated not I just finished ‘Battle Angel Alita: Last Order no. 18’. I feel like an abused spouse here. The series just wrapped up an “epic” storyline of DBZ-esque padding and now a character that based on English publication dates (and assuming that the ‘Last Order’ series overwrites the last volume of the original series) has been reintroduced despite being last seen in 1996. Fuck me…

Lol at niggas thinking that isn’t the real kromo. The earthly flesh that made up the irl kromo was sacrificed long ago to the machine goddess, now all that remains is the ghost in the loli shaped shell.

Agreed.

If the bro had just hooked up with any of the other bitches I would have at least found the series to have some point of redemption.

I’m pretty sure Kromo was born a loli.

arcana heart isnt really the kinda game you want to play in front of your family, they will either think you’re gay or that your a pedo

Does there happen to be a resident yandere?

Its not a gimmick, watching shows about cute little girls is my calling in life. This is why I get indignant at you people thinking you can casually offer you opinion on shit. This is my way of life. This is my culture. You are just a bunch of tourists. Fucking hobbyists. Like “oh…I like cowboy bebop, and I like titan…but I don’t know why people like all those other shows” Shut the hell up. I ought to scalp you.

It was awfully messy. Kind of like a planet being born.

The only difference between me and everyone else is I did it then, and by choice. Your time will come soon enough.

Fantasista Dolls is great. They fought a witch with spoons and teacups. Almost crushed that bitch with giant blocks of sugar. And the character that had an unusual interest in the main character bu didn’t seem so important? Turns out they ARE important! Whooda thunk?
Genshiken and C3-Bu episode 12 both seemed like they would be the last episode…then just…kind of weren’t. Kind of odd. I mean, they could have been, and it wasn’t like there was any kind of cliff hanger or unresolved issue…but it was like…oh but there’s more!
C3-bu had some odd artistic direction…like…the gun battle was oddly slapstick, which, given they are supposed to be having fun is fine…its just…you never saw that before.

As a dude who’s done that, sounds like a pretty shitty and judgemental family.

Yeah they really slacked off in episode 12. It was so obvious even I could notice it. Its only redeeming factor now is the soundtrack.

I’ve played Rumble Roses in front of my family and no fucks were given.

Let’s be honest. Almost any outcome other than what they went with would have been preferable. IMO the only questionable choice among the women that Kyosuke ignored is Ayase.

I would have been fine with predictable lol.

Plus as you said the side characters are very well done so at the very least if he’s not gonna end up with his sis then throw him another bitch.

Predictable =/= bad. IMO the series would have been better ending with Kyosuke throwing off the yoke of his bitchy sister and having a relationship with someone else OR having the ending mirror the ending of ‘The Graduate’ wherein both parties decide to plow ahead with the relationship even as they realize they have no idea how they’re going to make it work.
