the show clearly didnt take itself seriously, which sucks, cause it did build a nice character base, and was fun to watch at times. ayase would have been the best choice, but the childhood friend would have been the most interesting, considering the beef between her and the sister. either way would have been so much better, with better drama and a better ending.
If your gonna make a incestous romantic comedy about breaking taboos and social norms then at the very least have the integrity to see the concept through to the end.
This is where anime needs more crossovers. Sure, at the end, the Kuroneko character was completely wasted on Oreimo but wouldnât it be hilarious if she showed up as a new classmate in the next season of Chuunibyou.
âGoodâ is probably not the right word, since âgoodâ can mean a lot of things to different people in regards to characters. For me, many of the characters were written to be entertaining, even if they are pretty stereotypical anime/otaku culture tropes. They may not have been deep or complex characters, but entertaining enough for me to call them âgoodâ in this case.
Oreimo ending:
I nearly cheered with Minami punched the shit out of Kirino when Kirino was being a complete bitch to her at their final confrontation. Kirino had it a long time coming⌠especially since Kyosuke constantly lacked the balls to tell his sister to stop being such a bitchy cunt.
These anime stereotypical tropes have no personality outside of their one quirk, which is the shittiest thing of all. When you watch a show what are the characters you usually see.
The clutz. What does she like? Fuck that shes a clutz
What are her hobbies? Fuck what she is doing she is going to be a clutz at it.
What are her goals? Something to do with being a clutz?
What does she like to talk about? nothing, shes just a clutz
does anything get her mad? nope, clutz
she have any pet peeves? Nah, shes a clutz
any history? probably has something to do with being a clutz
Thats the character. This may have been funny 50 fucking years ago when it was first done therefore brought a new form of comedy. however, its overdone, its an excuse for lazy writers to not try. These characters have absolutley nothing to them outside of ONE shitty joke. thats horrible writing no matter what culture it is or who they are pandering to. How am i supposed to be invested in the comedy if all there is to it is one ongoiing shitty joke? How am i supposed to be invested in the show if i donât care for the characters? And otaku all over the world where ever they are eat that shit up as long as doujinshi ends up being made for the character. TWGOK by far outclasses any of these shitty ass shows in every aspect, from characterization, to comedy, to overall plot and situations. YYH and HxH also blow all of these shit shows out of the water. I am sure there are more shows that are hard as fuck to find randomly but it just goes to show the taste of these fans. (iâd be happy to take some recommendations.)
Shonen top 10 literally outclasses almost all of these SoL anime, and them shits are made for fucking kids.
I stopped watching Dangan after like the 3 episode, did I fuck up?
Edit: if Slice of Life meant more shows like Kids on the Slope than I would be so down for that shit. Until then, it can fuck off regardless of how much money they spend on some bitches eye reflectionsâŚ
It gets better and the ending is amazing but the anime is kind of rushed and ending skipped so watch the ending I linked earlier from the game and DR1 is more amazing when you rewatch it. If you read DR:Zero series then go back to watching DR1 youâre like âoooooohh so thatâs why so and so happened.â Same thing happens after reading DR:IF and DR2. Some stuff got leaked from DR3 that completely changes the way you look at the entire story. Plot is really really good. The information that is provided at each point of time and the information that is not provided at each point of time is intentional. Once you get used to the style of the author you start seeing tricks and learning more of the story.
So, your trying to convince us your enjoyment of a kids show is because its good and not because you have the emotional intelligence of child?
The hero. What does he like? His friends
What are his hobbies? Becomingstronger
What is his goals? To protect his friends
What does he like to talk about? Nothing, his friends do all the talking
What get him mad? Seeing his friends get hurt
Does he have any pet peeves, yes, one that is used as a running joke.
Any history? Yes, it is dark and sad.
If you think TWGOK is good or funny you have taste cancer. Like seriously? You just complained about how they are generic and the entire point of the show is that girls actually ARE generic trope characters and he is an expert at making them fall in love with him because he has played every visual novel and dating game ever. It would be funny if it was a tongue and cheek, joke show, but they play it dead straight.
I havenât been watching ANY of those shows, except Railgun, which has been disappointing, too much boring crappy story, not enough schoolgirl antics. But more to the point, people who say they only make moe anime are a bunch of fucking liars and crybabies. And should be tortured.
Anyway
I FINALLY got the Yuru Yuri: Happy go Lily Premium Box set in the mail today. Now THAT is a show. Not sure about the Happy Go Lily part thoughâŚ
I think he might be talking about the spin off starring Naegiâs sister. To my knowledge, an actual DR3 was only teased at the end of the spin-offâs trailer.
Iâll admit I havenât watched this new seasonâŚmaybe Iâm just getting less and less hopeful of anime these days because they keep running the same fucking ideas over and over.
I want the innovative masterpieces to start happening again.
TWGOK actually develops their characters beyond just being a dating sim, and this does have consequences later down the line that i wonât spoil, but develops the main character to a new level. It actually gives you reason to be invested, reason to care about the characters, and and actual reason to continue reading.
And about shonen main characters, yea a lot of them are one dimentional as well, but they still have a lot more to them than these slice of life anime released every single season rewriting the same exact story.
Akira Toriyama made Goku likable and gave him some layers to make him an actual character. Not much, but enough to make him feel like an actual person. His backround wasnât even sad.
Aichi from cardfight vangaurd has more character in his 2 fingers than SoL animes can do if they put themselves together, but they can do that because they are the same exact shows. His backround wasnât even sad.
Gon from hunter x hunter has been developed throughout the series, like him or not, he actually has more to him too. His background is a mostly happy one
Main character of Kuroko no Baske feels like an actual person
Main character of Magi feels like an actual person
Main character of SnK feels like an actual person
Even that shitty character naruto feels like an actual person
Main character of K-on feels like an on paper trope put into motion
I have no problem with the idea of the slice of life genre at all, but they way the industry treats it horribly (as do most businesses do in the entertainment industry do with anything). they completely crap on it, donât try, revise the exact same script, and make some money. There are shows in the genre that are good, but those are few and far between.
The worst part about it is characters in slice of life comedy are way more important than they would be in an action show. The characters are supposed to carry the show. If the characters are crappy, what show is there to watch?
