It’s my most favorite series now that Negima is gone. I feel the same as you do about this series, but you won’t have any luck proselytizing here. Pretty much everyone knows about it and opinions are split. How far are you into the novels? Are you reading the Railgun manga too?

Yeah. She got flanderized. In the first arc, she actually had something of an endearing personality. After she was saved she just became an unruly pet with a black hole for a stomach. In the first episode she was introduced well; the story made it believable that someone would rather she didn’t die. I still remember that scene where she asked Touma if he would be willing to follow her into Hell.

In the arc where Index was hanging around Accelerator I found myself agreeing with his abandoned-too-soon plan to kill her and discard the gore in an alley.

I concur. I like both Index and Railgun but where I to describe them a word that would feature prominently in both descriptions would be ‘inconsistent’. Some story arcs are good. Some are good but would have been better served if they’d been fewer episodes OR if they’d been expanded to a couple of more episodes. A few story arcs are downright bad/pointless. Thinking about it that seems to be an issue with a couple of the longer series’ that I’ve watched recently in Shakugan no Shana (and all the various sub-series and sequels) and Higurashi.

Like angelpalm joked, some things only make sense if you read the source material. Every arc in the anime has a point. Even the arc about the irrelevant vampire-killing girl was relevant in that it introduced and explained Gemstones and hinted at the identity of the thing sealed in Touma’s arm. The novels have only recently reached the halfway point and we’re getting revelations about stuff that was mentioned off-hand in volume one.

About the arcs being too long or short; that’s JC Staff’s problem right there. With Index, every volume of the novel could be its own movie if you didn’t leave anything out. When they make the anime they cram about 6 of them into one season and have to decide which arc gets what taken out to make room. In the arc where everyone switched bodies, there was actually a serial killer running around but that got axed.

I know. I get that they’re working with a fairly large quantity of source material and are having to pick and chose what gets in and what doesn’t. I was merely saying that I wish that they had been more selective. At this point I’m just happy that I’m mostly caught up on the stuff that’s currently airing and that I can start in on the backlog. That said I notice you didn’t comment on Shakugan no Shana because damn is that series a mess from an organizational perspective.

Love Hibiki’s berserk form and that she’s so strong in the form and able to regrow limbs and such. Sucks though that as it appears she has a limited lifespan due to her body being fused w/ the relic.

Really good episode of Majestic Prince. I think that anime has some of the best mech fight scenes that I’ve ever seen
Also liking the internal conflicts and politics w/ the villians that are shown.

i need to catch up, it was kind of getting boring, only thing keeping me watching it was the fact the same artist as the one who did gundam seed is drawing it, but if u say it is getting interesting, i might as well catch up.

Yeah I think things are starting to pick up now. Aside from one filler episode which is pretty apparent that it’s filler which I skimmed through to see if there was any story thrown in (which there wasn’t), things have been going pretty good so far.

I never picked that series back up after season 2 and never read the source material so in my eyes it was just an anime, not an adaptation. I’m much more judgmental of adaptations that I know the source of. I used to love Shana back then. I guess all that time waiting for season 3(and I was begging for it) I just lost interest. I heard that season 2 went anime original but season 3 was an accurate adaptation like nothing was wrong.

It’s like a drug. First two weeks will be the hardest without AoT, and I’ll probably go into withdrawal and then read the manga and hate myself afterwards.

I learned something from anime though, with how they go on about Krista (who came out of no where) she’ll…

A) Die causing major character development for everyone
B)Be a titan and moar character development huge shock
C) Get with armin/Eren causing drama with mikasasasasa
D) Be a lesbo who gets with no man (big shock) (comic relief)
