I watched Soul Eater 09 yesterday
I think I’m gonna watch one more episode and be done with it. Pretty disappointing.

You’re going to need to get farther into Soul Eater before it gets any good; however, the ending is a huge let down because they had to improvise something since the manga is still ongoing.
If he doesn’t like it by ep. 9 it ptob won’t grow on him. The anime did go to shit I think i stopped around 30 something.
Space Brothers 41
This one seems to be a bit more slower paced; Hibito is aware of his situation and still tries to aid Damian the best he could. Problem is time is running out and they need one of the Brian crafts to come to their aid as soon as possible. Mutta is briefed of the situation and doesn’t seem to be that worried, as he has full faith in his brother in making it out of this predicament.
Psycho Pass 13
I wonder if the old chick knows Makishima. Perhaps a former disenfranchised detective?
Yeah Cage of Eden’s ending was pretty weak and rushed.
Weak and rushed aren’t even the right terms.
It’s obvious it was haphazardly thrown together because the author doesn’t give a damn anymore. There’s a billion plot holes left, but the guy’s already pushing his newest work so CoE is a lost cause at this point.
Seriously the manga industry over there needs a giant kick in the balls.
That’s a funny joke
Next you’re gonna tell me you watched a Tsukihime anime
Remember kids dont ever read Cage of Eden. Waste of time. These kinds of endings are one of the main reasons why i dont like keeping up with manga. As well as how long they tend to on for. After i catch up, I have to wait a period of years before it moves far enough to have a comfortable and long reading session with it again. To invest all this waiting time into a work for it to fall off in quality or shit the bed for an ending just makes me not even want to bother with manga.
Yeah at this point Don’t read *Cage of Eden *if you didn’t start it. Your setting yourself up for a huge dissapointment
There’s a Tsukihime anime?
I never understood the hype for Hellsing, it has great art, Alucard himself is a great character, and the fight scenes are okay I guess, but all that isn’t enough to make me forget how bland and shitty the story is. I don’t read manga but it’s so obvious they cut out so much and the 13 episodes were the cliff notes version. I’m not going to bother with Hellsing Ultimate.
While looking up anime reviews here, probably the best anime review site I’ve come across although I wish it was categorized by genre too, anyways Revolutionary Girl Utena sounds awesome it’s on my list but should I watch Rose first?
I watched the first 10 episodes or so of Soul Eater and Darker Than Black. Both shows are okay but not entertaining enough to keep me interested.
Exactly how I feel about HotD, although to be fair I only saw the pilot maybe it gets better but I don’t care enough to find out.
I haven’t watched a lot of anime but I’ve noticed I’m really picky about what I watch. Naruto and Bleach are only worth watching for the great fighting and occasionally they have genuinely dramatic and poignant moments but most of the time it’s just such sappy, preschool bullshit I almost hate myself for having wasted so much time watching such dreck. I recently started getting back into anime after about a year or probably longer, I’ve done a ton of research and been very indecisive on what to start with because the sheer volume of anime available is intimidating. Anyways I’ve started watching Serial Experiments: Lain it doesn’t really make a lot of sense so far (on episode 4) but it’s GDLK! Exactly the type of anime I was in the mood to watch. After that I’m going to see Neon Genesis: Evangelion and Paranoia Agent, and they better be as GDLK as they sound!
Last week I was telling one of my friends who probably watches more anime then me that in my mind the majority of anime is just excuses for displaying mindless fighting, robots, and titties and that I know there must exist anime out there for more mature audiences and he responded “your looking for the Schindler’s List of anime”. He was joking but he doesn’t know how right he is lol. I tried getting back into Monster last night which I haven’t seen in a year so even though I was around episode 30 I decided to start from the beginning. I’ll probably save it till I’m done with the above 3.
Monster is the anime equivalent of Breaking Bad, it just totally eclipses everything else. My plate is a little full these 4 shows but if anyone knows an anime comparable to the stunning flawlessness of Monster let me know.
So I finished Geass R2 yesterday. I knew his end was going to happen, just not in that way. It was a smart resolution given his situation.
You are seriously fucking up by not watching Hellsing Ultimate. The tv show is garbage compared to the Ova which is almost spot on compared to the source material. Everything about Hellsing is insane. About to finish watching the last Ova since I got interrupted last time. I love how you can clearly see how much some of these mangaka’s revere each others work in the details of the things they put in their own manga/anime. Gonna watch that new Beserk movie too, while I am at it.
Didn’t really wanna post in this thread with all this Strike Witches 2013 talk going on. Panty shots and dumb ass little girls shooting shit for Touhou fans to wank off to is not my scene.
Its a little funny how some people think that his ‘resolution’ was staged. Its hopeful thinking for a great character I can understand, but honestly dieing while keeping everything a secret was the perfect way to go out for everything he did.
I never got a chance to watch monster or hellsing. Maybe now would be a good time.
It’s an anime/manga about a genetically engineered Dracula and his big titted vampire buddy as they take on supernatural foes with their oversized armor piercing guns and fight against mutant/cyborg Catholics and Nazi Werewolf catboy vampires.
The appeal is NOT in it’s story and the show generally isn’t meant to be taken seriously.
The main appeal lies in the larger then life characters and generally over the top violence and vulgarity of the whole thing. It’s a very grindhouse type show.
Also Hellsing Ultimate is a visual beauty and I would HIGHLY suggest that you check it out. It’s completely different from the the TV series which in my opinion while not entirely bad wasn’t as good as the original manga/Ultimate.
If you enjoyed movies like Evil Dead back in the day then you would love Hellsing
If Akame Ga Kiru and Kuronge No Linebarrel get the COE/Tengo Tenge/Air Geat treatment someone over in Japan is going to have to talk with me.
That’s funny, because I was bitching specifically about Hellsing Ultimate. It looks nice, and that’s about it. Honestly, it’s no better than the mediocre anime. They just fucking drone on and on, and none of their actions or motives make a shred of sense. The goddamn 10 min speeches that the Major gives… who likes that shit? I get that it’s intentionally mindless, but I dunno man, it’s borderline insulting to me. Also, there’s a ton of yucky Engrish.
Urgh, there’s maids in my Minami-Ke. So tired of maid outfits. :bluu:
I thought they would be above something like that (outside of school festivals)
I read Molester Man in one sitting and I rather enjoyed it. It got somewhat annoying on the part of Kansai toward the end but it was more understandable compared to say, Nagisa’s androphobia from Yume de Aetara.
No you wont just hush.
