So playing Ni No Kuni…perturbing event just happened and the mentor is calling the hero to bravery…and he has just rejected that call.
Probably another 40 minutes before I get to kill something…
Wait that game already came out?
What the fuck?
Index New Testament vol. 6 is being translated/uploaded at baka-tsuki now.
Anybody here read Alive: The Final Evolution? It’s probably one of the best manga’s I have ever read… Seriously.
Also any recommendations for the current anime season?
Depends, What genre do you typically enjoy?
Well like I said, it’s Narm Charm.
I enjoy watching mindless violence and seeing a Fat almost 100 year old nazi talk to his vampire buddies about how much he likes to fuck people’s shit up.
It’s stupid and over the top but it’s charming.
Also Jouji Nakata’s performance as Alucard is just beauty to my ears

And of course notable mention to Norio Wakamoto for being one of the best in the business.
If Alive is the best, you need to step up your manga game.
It’s a fun manga, but, that’s really it.
Anything with a good plot, hell I can even stand some Slice of Life shit as long as it is good. Generally tend to stick with Action/Thriller stuff though.
All ears for recommendations man!
I have no clue what you like, the people who visit this thread’s tastes are all over the place.
I recommend shit like Monster and 20th Century Boys.
Serial Experiments Lain, Pluto, etc.
I read it. Have you finished it yet?
Alive
Best girl lost again. Considering the circumstances of the mangaka, RIP, it ended well IMO.
For recommendations check the first page. I’d recommend Narutaru and Gantz specifically.
Really?
For him, Gantz, sure.
But Narutaru?
How about Bokurano instead?
Ahh I watched the anime for Lain, and Monster (well most of Monster, still have to finish up a couple of episodes) and I have read parts of 20th Century Boys. I couldn’t get into 20th Century Boys for some reason, but I will try reading it again.
I have never heard of Pluto, will check it out.
I thought about that before posting, but I haven’t seen Bokurano so I didn’t mention it.
How are you even alive when your frail body is riddled with all that taste cancer?
It’s like Narutaru without the fugazi ending.
Someone actually did an article on how the author (who did both series) treated death differently in each manga.
Man I read Gantz (the manga, I haven’t seen the anime) in spurts, shit is just exhausting for me to read though. It’s a good story, but sometimes I feel like it’s just going in circles. Yeah I finished Alive 2 years back, and just got done rereading it. I just really wanted something new to read/watch.
Also…
Alive
Alive just was for the most part perfect except for the relationship aspect of it. Seriously how you gonna let the girl who has been there with Taisuke the entire freaking time during the manga just down like that?! Megu or whatever that chicks name was…had damn near little page time, and she won?! smh. Nah but seriously all things considered yeah it had a great ending. I just wish they had gone into Hirose’s character a little more
Black Lagoon
Baccano
Tatami Galaxy
Kaiji
Gungrave
Gankutsuou
Eve no Jikan
Last Exile
Ergo Proxy
Kaiba
Eden of the East
My recommendations
Just my two cents but I personally wouldn’t recommend Ergo Proxy because:
[details=Spoiler]1. The plot was reasonably predictable except for the points where they threw in a weird episode for the sake of it (nor was it all that original/engaging either).
2. Worse, the whole ‘famous philosophers’ bit felt like it was thrown in there to try and look intellectual when it doesn’t add anything, and that just annoyed me.
3. Also there are some serious derp moments in the animation itself that don’t really detract anything but make it feel a bit rushed.[/details]
(no real spoilers there but anyway.)
tl;dr: It wasn’t unenjoyable, but I don’t really plan on watching it again when I know there’s other good stuff out there.
