Nonsense. I regularly pause anime in the middle of watching it for absolutely no reason. Sometimes I do it to make snide remarks on internet forums, or shower it with unnecessary, gushing and glowing praise. Occasionally to look at pornographic images and even sometimes just for the sake of pumping my fists and convulsing violently.
It’s not really “reading the manga instead of watching the anime” it’s more “you should probably check out the source material first”, this applies for most things because no matter how well an adaption is there are always going to be things that are lost in translation between mediums.
The original author had a manga in mind and thus created his/her story to be fitted into some sort of serialization with panel layout in mind and other things in order to heighten the reading experience.
When a manga is adapted this reading experience must be translated into a watching experience and in turn several things be it plot details, story bits or specific noteworthy panels are lost in translation.
Granted an adaption can still be GOOD, I will always prefer and suggest that you get a dose of the original experience at least.
UNLESS of course the original experience fucking sucks. I feel the same way when it comes to any sort of adaption be it Visual novel to anime adaptions, book to movie adaptions, etc.

I completely forgot, this is is one the main reason I like manga over anime. I can stop reading a manga whenever i want and come back to it some other time. Hell, I have no less than 5 tabs worth of manga open right now, some have been up there for months. When i feel like it I can just jump right back in. With anime, yeah you can just stop it and come back to it, but who does that? I like to get an episode out of the way, not delay it. So I’m stuck for 23 minutes.
Kotoura-san episode 1 was actually pretty damn good.

The best part of that is you don’t even need to. Anything Black Rock Shooter simply sells off the character design alone. If it looks cool enough for you to like it, that’s all it takes. You don’t need to find any inner meaning or purpose of it because there is none lol

Outside of the comic moments featuring Gintoki and the girls’ methods to convince Sadasada (the former shogun) that Shigeshige (the young shogun) isn’t out cold and Soyo’s dirty mouth; this was mostly a serious episode that actually reflected the former shogun’s brutal self (was pretty surprising, that revelation); and how he used Suzuran as a tool to reach to where he is now. Eventually, Gintoki and co. get captured and Isaburo gets injured from the bakufu.
Also, turns out that old guy Maizo (Soyo’s caretaker) was the one who made the promise to Suzuran and was the one in love with her; and thanks to the shogun’s vile nature, he cut down one of his arms so that he wouldn’t see her again.
Thanks to Soyo and the Shinsengumi, the Yoruzuya, Tsukuyo and Nobume are eventually set free and ready to take down the shogun and his army. Exciting times ahead!

Shit about to go down in Gintama, most of the comedy is out of the way. All thats left is action, tears, and more action

Dat Akane giving no fucks doing what it takes to try to capture Makashima. Dat Masaoka being Ginoza’s papa. Dat rapeface at the end from the comissioner(something isnt right there). I think this is all part of Makshima’s plan. He’s Loki in the Avengers and wants to shake shit up big time. Kogami was ready to fuck shit up just at the site of his mug so who knows what he’s gonna do when they meet face to face again.
just watched kiss x sis tv series, i was ready to bash this anime, but its crazy how borderline hentai this shit is, like…was this really allowed to show on tv in japan? im pretty interested to know just how far they can push the envelope, if yall know anymore crazy shit like this anime, FEED ME MOAR!
