He will feel great shame for doubting Based Trigger they already made the GOAT of anime with inferno cop. Next they made the godlike little witch academy OVA Based Trigger is unstoppable
I hate the whole āschool has its own independanceā shit, like that could ever really happen. dorssia could literally just walk up in there and stomp their shit. and this last episode, really just was annoying, the singing shit, and how everyone was just enjoying life even though they are in a fucked situation. and the forced love at the end, i mean, we all saw it coming, the indiferent girl meshing with the āheroā. but it still makes no sense, no reason for it. i just have a problem with the whole anime, like haruto at times doesnt know what he is doing, then its like the mech just goes on auto pilot and rapes shit, i dont know it feels like a disconnect. it doesnt feel like he is piloting it. shouko is a dense, dumb main woman, haruto is just as stupid. the only character i can stand is L-Elf. this just feels like one of those random animes where something like L-elf joining with shouko because shouko wants to get back at haruto for messing with that chick is a possibility. and if that really happensā¦i dont know what to say.
Valvraveās writing is hilariously bad. Iāve seen three episodes so far and nothing really works in a coherent fashion, even by animeās standards. Like, L-Elfās escape from custody was so ridiculous it took me out of a show I was already having a hard time getting into. How the hell did he unscrew the screw in his chair? I can kinda let this pass if the screw was already loose, but they didnāt really show that it was. Furthermore, he is able to throw the screw up into the light above (from a sitting, hands tied behind back, position) with enough velocity to break it. So I guess he has super human strength that wasnāt implied up until that point since he just breaks out of his ropes like it was nothing. Then again, if everyone knows who he is, they should already know he has super human strength and WOULDNāT USE FUCKING ROPES TO DETAIN HIM (and why the fuck are they still using ropes to detain and restrain people when they have super advanced technology to FUCKING LIVE IN SPACE). Now after he breaks out, he sets up an elaborate bomb trap to detonate on something like 12 floors ALL WITHIN FIFTEEN MINUTES OF ESCAPING. lol~ Unless L-Elf has super human speed and response times, this shouldnāt be happening at all. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Okay Iām done ranting. Not sure if Iāll stick with this show; I donāt want to get trapped like I did with Guilty Crown and partially trapped with Sword Art Online. The only positive things I can say about Valvrave is that the animation is top notch and sometimes thereās oppai. I hope to god this show isnāt a full 26+ episodes, but ANN seems to suggest itās only 12.
Iāll be sticking with Valvrave a while longer, if only because my bullshit tolerence levels have been risen by the origional Macross recently and the protagonist isnāt Ouma fucking Shu.
This isā¦really odd stuff to complain about. I mean, aside from the fact that youāre complaining about realism in a super robot animeā¦
āI hate the whole āschool has its own independanceā shit, like that could ever really happen. dorssia could literally just walk up in there and stomp their shit.ā Uh, no, they couldnāt. That was the whole point of the end of last episode. Dorssia wonāt attack them because of the risk that their enemy would get the only weapon that defeats them. ARUS wonāt attack them for the same reason. This happens all the time in the real world, so I donāt understand why itās so annoying to you that itās happening in this anime.
āand this last episode, really just was annoying, the singing shit, and how everyone was just enjoying life even though they are in a fucked situation.ā Once again, that was the whole point. They started off just having fun with all the freedom they had that they werenāt used to having, then as soon as things got uncomfortable and dangerous, they started to panic and turn on one another. Itās a fairly realistic representation of how humans behave in chaotic situations. Havenāt you ever seen coverage of a riot or a revolution before? Or, hell, the celebration after a team wins a championship when people just act a damn fool until the cops come?
I donāt even know what to say about the rest of the stuff. it really seems like you just decided you didnāt like it earlier and are just looking for reasons to hate now. I mean, itās certainly no masterpiece, and if you donāt like it, you donāt like it, but some of those reasons are pretty sillyāitās like youāre being critical for the things it specifically does fairly well as opposed to the actual problems (see Juiceās post). I was wondering if I was missing something, and I guess Iām not.
Overall thoughts on this seasonās mecha shows - Gargantua is on that slow build, Majestic Prince doesnāt take itself seriously, and Valvrave is trying to cram too much.
You people just got to raise that suspension of belief with Valvrave. j/k lol
Thereās some hilariously bad ideas going on in Valvrave. The recent events of the series reminds me more of Infinite Ryvius rather than Guilty Crown but the similarities are there. In any case that idea is fucking dumb and on paper itās going to blow up in their face so hard just like Ryvius and Guilty Crown.
Valvrave
Spoiler
Making an independent country and then separating your pod from the rest of the Colony to drift in space is so fucking dumb. I have no idea where theyāre going with this. Iām assuming itāll be similar to Ryvius and explore the drama of the students as they are forced to fend for themselves; however, given the type of show Valvrave is, I donāt think theyāll be able pull this storyline off properly.
The show feels like itās just speeding through the beginning. Iām not sure if the series is speeding things up due to time limitations with the supposed 12 episodes though. Iām actually hoping for 26 episodes because the opening displayed a lot of content and 12 episodes to do all that would make the series a complete train wreck. At least they can make something out of 26 episodes instead of 12.
Also, lol @ someone dismissing Kill la Kill through a brief description of the premise and 1 promotional image.
Iām actually pretty impressed with Maaya Sakamotoās portrayal of Motoko. Sheās one of my favorite Japanese VAās and the sample clips in the trailer sounds like sheās retained the feel of Atsuko Tanaka portrayal of the character. Not feeling the new VAās for Batou, Togusa, and Aramaki.
Yeah, i would say Valvraveās legit issues are pacing, insufficient exposition (how often does THAT come up), and stretched suspension of disbelief that makes the realistic stuff harder to digest than they should be.
Majestic Prince has the flattest characters ever. (yes, even the ones with huge boobs.) Everybody but Lollipop Sensei has a personality you could fit on a trading card in full.
