^Mad.
I want to see Sasha eat a Titan by the end of the series.
One thing I donât understand in Gargantia
[details=Spoiler]Okay in episode 2 Ledo basically wiped out the pirates in 5 seconds since they basically were gonna pillage a ship and were sexually assaulting the crew. Then they are pissed about him taking human life so easily and say the whole situation in the next episode is his fault. Which makes you think what the hell they were gonna do to the pirates that obviously were a threat to them in the first place without him.
Then in episode 3 they try to get him to help without killing anyone, but there is a huge fucking hole in their logic. They are still firing cannons and shit between the fleet and the pirates. Not only did they not get a 5 second flawless victory with Ledo, the fleet is still killing pirates anyways, they lost crew members in the battle, and accrued damage to their fleet, and probably made the pirates even more mad so you know that theyâll come back to cause even more trouble.
Itâs like, âOh okay, it doesnât matter that we lost a dozen men and took damage, Ledo learned the value of not killing motherfuckers who want to kill and rob youâ. [/details]
Donât worry. All comic relief ends here.
Because. Anime.
At least some of the women have big tits.
Stop watching shit and complaining about it stinking.
Since thereâs only a handful of shows Iâm watching this season I decide to start watching Fate/Zero. Up to episode 7 and itâs been an exciting watch thus far. This Berserker shits all over Stay Nightâs Berserker
I HAVE NO CLUE WHATS EVEN HAPPENING IN CLAYMORE ANYMORE.
The anime or the manga? I ask because I recently finished the anime and then went on Wikipedia to see what got cut compared to the manga (answer: a lot) and the synopsis of mangas that came out after the anime seemed veryâŚconvoluted.
Also recently finished watching Future Diary recently. It wasâŚinteresting. I also agree with my roommates assessment in that it seems like Yukkis character is a bit inconsistent (even if I disagree on how much).
After Claymore and Future Diary I started on GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class as I donât think I could have taken another anime similar to either of those at the moment. GA is OK. So far it seems like what youâd get if you stuck Lucky Star, K-ON! and Azumanga Daioh in a blender and the resultant product was trying too hard.
the manga. I donât evenâŚ
Also, eva 3.33 went as expected. the last 30 minutes were nonsense. Everyone is an asshole for no reason. Half of the movie is not even explained. Whatever, at least it kept me interested until the end, unlike the other 2. Kind of liked the end though. Iâm kindof looking forward to the next one in 5 years.
I donât get what you guys didnât understand about the film⌠I got just about most of it.
[details=Spoiler]No one wanted Shinji to pilot an EVA because he doesnât obey instructions. He was seen as the potential key to initiating the 3rd impact in 2.22, and they didnât want to risk the chance of a 4th impact. They even secured a bomb around his neck for this precaution.
Thereâs 2 forces. Wille and Nerv. Nerv is ran by Gendo who WANTS to initiate an impact because it is believed that the rebirth of the world requires a vast amount of life force to be sacrificed, and the required amount equals to the destruction of the old world. Destroy the old world so a new one can replace it. Like how a phoenix dies and resurrects. Still confusing?
Wille on the other hand is ran by Misato who chooses to stand against Nerv. Misato was a 2nd impact survivor and because of the trauma involved she doesnât want another impact to occur, which is why she detains Shinji. Only problem is that she still cares about him and isnât fully ready to simply kill him off hence why she hesitated to detonate the bomb around his neck when a Rei clone picked him up.[/details]
After watching Evangelion 3.33, my mind is full of fuck.
Best 4 years Iâve waited for
shit here I was thinking I wasnt gonna have anything to watch, saw the intro for Titan and yep about to run thru that manga faster than I did death note lol. So Titan and gargantia are my shows love both.
Its cool cause now I have a lil vacation from work so imma marathon HXH. I hear nothing but good shit about that anime and manga. Any clue when we get Berserk Golden Age Arc III Descent Movie?
I donât either, In fact 3.0 was fairly easy to understand in realityâŚthis made much more sense then what the original anime was doing up until this point(lets not get into thatâŚ). But honestly since this is all very different from what we are used to, I can expect people to be âlostâ for the sole fact that it is vastly ânewâ content. That and people, you gotta understand things are left a mystery for a clear reason.
4.0 seems promising.
I really hope 4.0 doesnât come in five years like the wait between 2 and 3. I donât think the wait between 1 and 2 was more than a couple of years, right?
[details=Spoiler]All of this could of been avoided if they werenât giant assholes. You would think they would be well aware of shinjiâs emo personality and be like âhey, this guy is a nutcase, instead of being dicks to him, lets you know, tell him some stuff has happened, the worlds different, he shouldnât pilot eva anymore, ectâ. Nah man, lets give him the cold shoulder, tell him nothing, even though we you know, brought him hereâŚrevived himâŚwhatever. They give no explanation as to why Tojiâs sister is even there either, she was a useless addition, atleast at the moment, who knows about 4.0
And what has Nerv been doing for 14 years? They give no explanation as to why/how Nerv has these fully functional evaâs lying around, considering the whole place is empty with no personnel. Misato and Co apparently had no clue Ayanami was even alive (going by what asuka said in the battle towards the end). The fifth child has apparently been twiddling his thumbs for 14 years, as they give no recollection of what happened at the end of the 2nd movie. And Willie or whatever, they donât even say who any of those people are, or why they have the budget/manpower to create a massive god ship in a world after the supposed sorta 3rd impact.
And this may have been explained at some point, maybe, but wtf was up with the âeva curseâ asuka talked about then they never mentioned ever again. Why does it effect Misato and everyone else? No one in the damn show has aged, why did they even decide to make it 14 years? And why was Unit 1 in space attached to an angel? Again, I may have missed these bits, I donât know.[/details]
Iâm sure some of this will be explained in 4.0, but thatâs awful movie making as weâre gonna be waiting 4+ years for it most likely. Iâm sure a lot of you are the types who can look over stuff like this considering the type of anime you watch, but I canât stand when movies/shows donât explain giant pieces of plot. I know thatâs pretty weird, hahahaâŚ

Evangelion 3.33
Ritsuko looked a bit older, to be fair. However, I think some people forget that people in their 40s in anime typically look pretty god damn good for their age. For example, how many 40 year olds in anime DONâT look like theyâre in their late twenties? As for the âEva curseâ, I have no idea why that was mentioned. Iâm guessing it only has to do with Eva pilots. Probably something to do with the LCL fluid or whatever. Honestly it doesnât matter as an explanation since I think it was just an excuse to keep all the pilots as 14 year olds. lol~
Yeah, there were a lot of things unexplained. I donât know if theyâre going to explain everything in 4.0, but weâll see I guess. Ultimately, I donât think the plot holes/unexplained plot points matter THAT much in the grand scheme of things. The movie was kind of a clusterfuck of information, but I donât think it was bad at all; Iâve seen far worse (LIKE SWORD ART ONLINE).
After watching Evangelion 3.33, my mind is full of fuck.
yea, it doesnt help that 2.0 was so long ago, and dam sure doesnt help that its pretty much all new shit. i keep trying to relate whats going on to the original, probably not a good idea.
eva
ayanami, well, atleast the one everyone knew is not really alive, that one that came and picked shinji up is one of many clones.
I really hope 4.0 doesnât come in five years like the wait between 2 and 3. I donât think the wait between 1 and 2 was more than a couple of years, right?
yea it was a little under 2 years.
Incoming Eva 3.33 tl;dr.
Eva 3.33 is a film that I donât think you can generally really understand or appreciate on a first viewing. The whole thing is just so vastly different to any Evaâs of the past that you just canât help but be taken aback by it all and feel alienated. It catches you totally off guard, and it is very easy to tunnel vision through the rest of the film, focusing almost entirely on that one aspect alone; how itâs so far removed from previous Evaâs that itâs no longer the Eva you once knew. Iâll even go so far as to say that it throws almost all of the last two films completely out of the window, leaving a very massive disconnect for people to try and swallow.
I donât blame people for feeling entirely lost (or even betrayed if youâre really that extreme) by the end of it. In fact, I actually do believe it to be one of the films intentions so bravo to them on that aspect. It allows us to better empathise with Shinji whoâs also been thrown off into the deep end of the story much in the same way that we were. At surface level the actual events and actions of the film itself werenât hard to follow but the major cause for much of the confusion I felt stemmed from a lack of underlying motives that was never really made clear nor explained. This is where you kinda have to go digging between the lines and cracks for answers, which is very reminiscence of the original Eva series, particularly EoE. They tell you just enough to raise questions, but very rarely will they ever lay the answers out there right in front of you. You could even argue 3.33 as going back to the true nature of the Evangelion with the reinclusion of character suffering, plot analysis through forceful rewatching and reaction controversies. There were really big EoE vibes from 3.33 for me while watching it to be honest.
[details=Spoiler]On WILLE giving Shinji the cold shoulder and not telling him shit. When they first fished him out, they labelled him on his feet as âS. Ikari??â. They werenât even sure if this was actually the Shinji that they thought him to be or some kind of messed up Angel hybrid or whatever. In cases like that, in a post apocalyptic world where youâre constantly on edge from endless wars and battles, you cover your own ass first. Itâd be foolish of them to spill the beans on everything to a potential threat, let alone one that almost destroyed the world and could very well do it again. Looking at it from Shinjiâs perspective it makes perfect sense for him to have jumped ship when not.Rei came crashing in to take him away, especially given the way the WILLE crew had greeted him, but really they had their reasons for doing so.
Itâs obvious that the entire crew holds some very deep grudges against Shinji too. Many must have lost loved ones thanks to Near Third Impact and have had to spend the last 14 years living in this hell hole, becoming very jaded and bitter because of him. Because he had selfishly decided to try and help someone that he had cared deeply about. The one time where he actually stood up and decided for himself, that with his own two hands heâd try and make a difference, the story punishes him for it. This kid just seriously can not catch a break, Anno just wonât let him. By the end of the movie, heâs pretty much a broken boy, given up on life. 1.11 and 2.22 built Shinji up and gave him the confidence he needed to deal with all his issues much in the same way that the first half to the TV series did. 3.33 then proceeded to completely take that all away and broke him down as hard as it could the same way the latter half of the TV series alongside EoE did. I can only wait to see what 4.0 will decide to do with Shinji. Leave him down in the shits or try to pick him up and provide hope again.
The Curse of Eva thing only affects the pilots, which is why Mari, Asuka (and arguably Rei and Kaworu since they ainât normal humans), which means theyâve actually matured 14 years while Shinji is still a 14 year old brat in comparison.
Some fun facts:
The preview at the end of 2.0 for 3.0.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGy4RimdR9o
None of those scenes made it into the final film. Kaiji even got more screen time in that preview than the final film lol Iâm guessing they mustâve had a change of plans halfway through. It seemed like the initial plan was to have 3.0 deal with the direct aftermath of Near Third Impact, but then for whatever reason they figured lollets14yeartimeskipisntead. Previews for 2.0 at the end of 1.0 didnât entirely match up with the final 2.0 film either, so that preview we saw for 4.0 Iâm taking with a grain of salt.
Fuyutsuki tells Shinji while theyâre playing Shogi that he loses in 31 moves. About 31 minutes later Kaworu gets splattered lol
The opening fight scene in space didnât actually having Mari singing in the background for 3.0. They added this in later for 3.33, which was of much amusement to me while I was watching it. The way Asuka eventually told Mari to shut the hell up, I couldnât help but feel to be a slight jab towards Macross lol
