I’m sure he was having a go at both [HorribleSubs] and horrible(i.e terrible) subs in general as [HorribleSubs] releases/rips Steins;Gate faster than anyone else by a good few days. But as someone already pointed out and the group itself keeps mentioning “Any errors in the subs are to the courtesy of Crunchyroll”.
People would probably make more of a shitstorm if they could actually tell the difference between the mistranslations and with what’s being said, but they can’t so they just don’t know and simply go off the subbers goodwill. Those that can tell really have no need for subs in the first place anyway. As long as it isn’t horrendously off and doesn’t happen on a rather important line then i don’t mind it too much.

Checked out Usagi Drop, PenguinDrum and BakaTest2. All of them were godlike, top 3 shows of the season for me right there it seems.

That’s not true. All CrunchyRoll simucasted stuff is subbed by MX Media (a company made for well, subtitling shows). It’s just that some groups want to sub shows from scratch themselves (which if the CrunchyRoll subs are good, then why? You’re just wasting time doing so.) Ironically, MX Media itself is made of former fansubbers.
