The prequel is Kizumonogatari and that’s going to be a movie, that’ll probably be released this year. Knowing Shaft’s schedule, it’ll actually be in 2014 or something. Nise on the other hand, is a direct sequel.

well i know alot of people in here hate ZnT, but i loved the living fuck out of it. Season 1 and 2 were amazing IMO. season 3 was meh. I love ecchi, i love romance, i love action, it has it all. and I love Saito, one of my favorite male leads.

started soul eater, and I have read a little bit of the manga but never really finished it. Show has its moments.
While I really like the different art style, the moments of immaturity amongst the characters turned me off… .as well as the fillers.
Didn’t help that it was like 51 episodes or something. I’m losing interest in FMA:B just because of the spontaneous childish bickering from Edward…

When you see the character named B.J. show up, stop watching the anime right there at that point. It spilts from the manga right there, and Bones cannot write. They still can’t write worth a damn even now.
From there just read the manga. If you would want to.
Soul Eater’s animation is gorgeous but it deviates from the manga towards the end of the series and had to end it prematurely.

I was wondering if anyone thinks that over the next few years, the anime/manga war will be a battle between otaku and fujoshi. There seem to be more mainstream series that are catering to the fujoshi. Plus, I remember reading an article on Sankaku Complex about some of the otaku talking about Comiket 81 being filled with fujoshi.

Speaking of fujoshi-pandering, the anime adaptation of ZETMAN looks to be attracting fujoshi with the voice cast and that promotional teaser photo on the main page, even though the series is pretty graphic (though it will probably be censored). Does anyone think more anime/manga series will shift their attention towards the fujoshi?

I dont that think that there is a “war” between otaku and fujoshi as much as its just the market just further fortifying itself to in better include fujoshi interests. Overall though, theres always been fujoshi pandering elements in manga and anime. Just look at just about about any Gundam series.
Now theres some works thats levied a lot by fujoshi like Durarara, Setokai Yakunidomo, and even Panty and Stocking. But us Most works that sell really well usually have crossover appeal in the first place. Jump published manga (which tend to have huge male casts), Gundam, Evangelion, K-ON, Madoka…
I doubt it’ll make anime better or anything though. Most anime will still suck out loud. It just might just suck in a different way by throwing in more drama and angst.
I don’t see otaku and fujioshi as being at odds because they are different sides of the same coin. Essentially, what I see is more of a tension between those who seek out anime as an escapist, sexually fueled utopia fantasy world and those who wish to see it legitimized and added to the cannon of mainstream popular culture.On one hand the sex utopians wear the badges of shame and isolation with pride, the ultimate expression of mass produced individualism (IE, Waifu’s, average man with a harem) while the legitimizers care mostly for show pieces which display their prowess for selecting entertainment. The downside to the sex utopia is, it is ultimately alienating (to society, reality, attractive members of the opposite sex), while the legitimizers are basically trying to get what would be considered as a really shallow piece of literature (and I am talking about the so-called “good plot anime”) accepted as high art.
There are other factors of course, such as the lowest common denominator, government censorship, backwards ass Japanese values, piracy and an insurmountable language barrier…but I’ve stopped caring enough to write about those.
Ultimately, one side wants something they can watch in dark rooms with their pants off, while the other wants to be able to invite people into their homes and be like “yo, this show is so deep man, her feelings are like…so…so sad…HOOOMMUUUUUURAAAAAAAAAA!”
or, its man children who can’t socialize vs the man children who are intellectually challenged by pre-teen vampire books.
I remember Zero no Tsukaima having better art. Maybe because back in the day I was watching it on a smaller screen…streaming…while high…and I just imagined it looked better “in reality”.

they’re pretty bad
larange space pirates and symphogear are all the same show with different nouns and they all have terrible char designs
kyousisgigiga or whatever is a ona that makes no sense
kill me baby will probably be good for a few more eps but probably not forever
brave 10 has cool char designs but its like a pretty generic shounen that might not end up better and stay the same forever
