I dont know if any other SRK’rs watched the show, but this comic continues after the last episode of the show
quite a few interesting things have happened. the comic starts 6 months after the big battle with Wolfram & Hart. they are going to show exactly how the fight turned out in issue# 6. Its only 3 issues in so far
Angel
[details=Spoiler]Gunn is a vampire (seems he was turned in the big battle)
Angel is no longer a vampire (They havent revealed if he’s fully human or what he really is but he’s no longer a vamp)
LA is overun with demons and the demons have control of the entire city. The sun and moon are out at the same time. and the demons divided the city in territories they each control
Spike and Illyria are working together to save enslaved humans. connor’s doing the same[/details]
she’s the demon that killed Fred and took her body over in season five…
time travel abilities, she can also slow down time, she was depowered by angel’s crew cause her body couldnt sustain her powers. she’s crazy strong and fast even after being depowered. I doubt if a slayer could take her either. plus her damage soak is rediculous
Hold Dat - First post edited with Spoiler Tag, reads better than SPOILERS BELOW like how it originally was. Just click edit on your post to find out how I did it for future reference, thanks.
Yeah Gabriel Zero told me about Angel on another forum but I haven’t checked it out yet. I didn’t know that Joss Whedon was also involved with this series early on and that it is considered canon too.
Love Buffy Season 8 so I will get around to checking this out sooner or later.
I still hope Cordelia shows up as a ‘Powers That Be’ or something. :lovin:
So, I heard that its pretty decent, but the art style is not. I saw a few pages and didn’t really like the art style, so that turned me off. I’m not the biggest buffy/angel fan, but I am a fan, and was thinking about picking it up. What’s your opinion on the art?
Also, 4play

I think I remember seeing Wesley in there as a ghost. I could be wrong[/details]
Spike’s coming out with a new comic, too, isn’t he?
Seems like comics picking up where TV shows left off is the in thing to do now.
I know there’s a Star Trek one out there that is supposed to be canon that picks up after the last Kirk and Spock 60s TV show ep. But I am the farthest thing removed from a Treky (always been more of a Star Wars guy) so I don’t know too much about it other than what I just wrote down.
There is supposed to be a Veronica Mars comic book series that picks up where the show left off. Can you believe that the Hollywood Writer’s Strike is affecting that comic’s release too 'cuz the guy behind the show who was gonna write the comic is still down with Hollywood so he can’t work on it? :wasted:
Anyway, it’s an excellent idea! Arg, I want a Married… With Children comic, an Arrested Development comic, a Black Donnellys comic, a Beans Baxter comic, etc.
I’ve read up to Chap 3 so far and it’s pretty good. It’s great that Wes is back(more or less) and they haven’t forgotten Gwen, but I’m still kinda torn about Gunn. It’s pretty interesting nonetheless.
I’m with Sano on the Cordy front. I miss her.
fistoftheryustar: Darla is the one who sired Angel in England all those years ago. If you’re confused about Angel’s past, watch Buffy seasons 1-3.
I’m currently reading both Buffy and Angel, both have its up and downs, moving the property from TV to comics. The twist at the end of issue 3 was fairly unexpected, haven’t read #4 due to lack of indie shipments last week into the UK. One thing to note is the art direction, it looks like it’s rushed or unfinished, not as crisp and clear as what we’re seeing over in Buffy. Its not like IDW doesn’t have decent artists either (Ashley Wood for example).
Damn how did I miss this thread? I own every season of Angel, fucking loved it, but oddly I hated Buffy. Can someone post up what happens during the final battle that the show left you hanging on? Curious as to how they survived a giant, 100 demons, and a fucking dragon.
