American Government Thread 2: RIP John McCain, 81

DUIs are a pretty big fucking deal.

who was offended by use of the word stan? are you referring to me??? i’m not even a dump supporter so i dont know why you’d think that.

it sounds like theres some more to this brentobox stuff that i don’t know about, because i really have no clue what you’re referring to there either. i trust white people more than brown people? is femto brown enough for you? i bro tripped with him to beijing i dunno how much more brown loving i need to be. im going to ask around cause it seems you’re referring to some additional stuff that happened. the last time i saw him was before i left seattle, and it was me him pablo, keith, brian ma and some others. it was a fucking multiracial kumbaya of good times so i really dont see where the vitriol is coming from

you already linked to stranger articles yourself. are you trying to argue that the stranger does not have a strong communist bias?

sounds like crying to me. i do think the tax system in seattle is broken, but we’d disagree as to the why. i’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you consider the seattle system to be very regressive and that you want to tax rich people more. as for me i dont like taxes and i think the government just pisses away that money on stupid gigantic underground drills that get stuck trying to build a shitty tunnel that nobody wanted. i don’t want an income tax, the property taxes keep getting higher, so do fees like car tabs, now there’s tolls.

you can extrapolate how people truly feel about an issue from the clues they leave behind. from peoples rhetorics and action, seems to me many leftists want open borders with mexico (not with china or india tho).

De blasio from article i linked earlier:

In other words don’t deport illegals caught doing DUI, because its a “very minor” offense. “very minor” is another way of saying no big deal.

VOX on abolishing ICE:

if there’s no focus on immigraiont enforcement… then how is that not the same as just saying, hey everyone come on in?

i’m just reading between the lines man

The “Stan” thing was a general comment not addressed to you.

If you need to stick your nose into that, that seems dickish. I’m happy to leave it alone. Just don’t make him out to be a martyr of any sort.

I’m not trying to argue that The Stranger, run by people I’ve worked with, is not an alternative publication with atypical takes. The comment you quote sharply points out that the sources of funding are a fucking mystery these days and doesn’t indicate much about the head tax. Property taxes, tolls, car tabs, usage fees, et cetera keep increasing because we have a broken tax system. Switching to an income tax would in theory help a bunch of that. But this is all Washington State politics that are boring to everybody not part of WA.

Your “extrapolation” is to me just “bullshit”. ‘They didn’t actually say that, but it serves my preconceptions to pretend that they did’…?

“saying no big deal” I mean if you remove it entirely from context, yes you can distort the meaning.

You link to an article apparently you didn’t read. Go read it, I guess.

Do you actually understand the terms being used?

Because you honestly do not read as if you do.

No, Hunter Gatherers were not living in poverty.

Google Poverty… enrich yourself.

Again, what definition of poverty are you using? If living in a cave with sticks and stones and going days-weeks without food isn’t poverty I don’t know what is…

Wow.

Weeks without food, eh?

Those were some hearty people.

Awww you’re so a precious. When you’re old enough not to talk about your imaginary word friends, we can have a discussion pat pat

While its true hunter-gathers were more mobile so they were less effected by environmental issues compared to agriculturalists, and of course depends if you are in a warmer or colder climate, famines were still a thing.

What’s up with America…

Like its a sad day when even Faux has to accept reality…

The problem is and what uses is most people can’t accept they have been duped. They didn’t have a gun put to their head but the power of persuasion and honed hatred can do major damage. This is why SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many people hate Obama. Most don’t even know why but enough hate for long enough and eventually thats all you see.

Now Mueller will show how Trump knew and took it and well welcome to hell… We know his son took a meeting and that is just a starter…

Bruh Did I just read a Fox News headline that reads and I quote,

Findings by the intelligence community that Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election to help Donald Trump win were "accurate and on point

Fair & Balanced…

Nah there was one of a permanent resident voting

Can’t find it yet but I will

I cannot support trump and his grandstanding

Dude is a magnificent troll but he is not a leader, he is a piece of shit and should have just stayed a private citizen where his tweets don’t damage our relations with other nations

I wonder what happens when he does leave office

If the incoming president puts his ass in jail that would be a winning situation

ICE are hunting immigrants in general now legal or not

Heck they arrested citizens and only through protest were they cleared

I have friends in ice they are fucking over this. They want to do actual policing of actual criminals.

They are pulled away from policing duties and doing raids in immigrant enclaves

The group screwed is bop thanks to trump’s open relationship with private prisons the pay and workforce has dwindled in federal prison

The pay should be way higher.

But hey let’s round up all these people and not hire enough prison officers to police the growing population

The new president of Mexico might make it easier for the guatemalens and salvadelorenos to make it in Mexico via asylum

One solution i think we could do is trade in a few of the black people in NYC for some immigrant mexicans who really want to cross the border for a job that badly.
Not all black, because then I would be included in that. Just the ones who make NYC unlivable: Shirtless thugs who need to bring their shit music in the train for everyone to hear. Hoodrats who yell and curse out load. Teens who go around chinatowns and indian towns just to make fun of them or steal at their stores - and then bitch about racism once they get cuffed for it… those kinds of people. I would really trade in for immigrant families who can’t speak english in a heartbeat.

SJW’s too. Yesterday i was eating at a shake shack with some friends from Denmark who were here in NYC for the first time. These sjw’s stormed in with their signs and started yelling all over the place. Fuck them. Lets trade them along with Cenk Ugyr and Anna Kasaparin too.

Listening to Dyson is disgusting. “MOMMY, MOMMY”. “I use bigger words to look more photosynthesis.”

@dab00g

always remember…

We, the American citizens, are the sheep btw…

We need to vote third parties no matter what like:

Don’t vote the top two parties anymore…

Could you clarify the “both sides are the same” bullshit with regards to the Trump administration’s actions versus those of the Obama administration?

One side claiming climate change isn’t real seems to firmly disprove that crap, even ignoring every thing else the past two years. “both sides the same” is a diversionary tactic meant to distract. People need to vote. It’s in the republican interest that you not vote, so they’ll smear the other candidate, tell you that both sides are the same, that your vote doesn’t matter, gerrymander the fuck out of you, make it hard to vote… don’t fall for that horseshit.

If you want to get other parties relevant it has to start at the local level and build momentum. I’m registered Independent right now because I have problems with both parties. But I am going to be voting blue in the midterms and, if Trump is still in office in 2020, I’ll vote Deomcrat then as well. I don’t necessarily agree with all of Democratic policies and actions, but right now I feel it is more important to put a stop to that madman than to vote my conscious. I would love for a third party to come and make a legit run against the big two. But I also live in reality and know that the only way for that to happen is to keep building a foundation. Right now it’s more important to me to get Trump out and vote against all the Republicans who completely enable him.

I see it’s been a while and people forget why we have only two relevant parties and why we’ll only ever have two relevant parties by sheer mechanics. Let’s have a reminder, shall we?

Kinda wish we used the Instant Run-off voting system where we rank candidates and redistribute the votes for 3rd parties.
