Thereâs a book out there by a guy named Ryan Holiday called âTrust Me, Iâm Lyingâ that he wrote about his time as a PR and marketing executive. He worked for guys like Tucker Max and Linkin Park, but worked at American Apparel for a long time. Basically in the book, he details all of the tricks he used to get press for his clients, which usually involved outright lying about his credentials, spreading false information to bloggers who were just happy to have access, and working up publicity stunts that would inevitably be reported. One of his stories was about how when he was working with Tucker Max, they agreed to pay a Planned Parenthood location in Chicago $50,000 to rename it something like Tucker Max Planned Parenthood essentially to piss off a bunch of feminists and get a lot of free press. They didnât really intend to really rename the place, but it worked. Itâs a really amazing book, a quick read and itâs cheap, if youâre interested in more of this type of thing you should definitely check it out: https://www.amazon.com/Trust-Me-Lying-Confessions-Manipulator/dp/1591846285
One of the things that he details in the book though is how blogs especially really have no journalistic standards other than whether or not something will get clicks. It doesnât even matter whether the information theyâre presenting is true as long as they can sell ad space on the page, or itâs going to get a lot of clicks. He even discussed how there are certain news articles that we see that are basically just paid advertisements disguised as blog posts. I see them all the time in my Google feed.
For all his ranting and raving, Trump is right that the mainstream media is a bunch of bullshit but I donât think itâs a bunch of bullshit for the reasons that heâs saying it is. The fact is, airtime is basically like a pop music chart. If a story doesnât chart High Enough, the news outlets donât see it as being worth reporting and thatâs a real problem especially when a lot of very important stories fly under the radar just because they arenât human interest stories or stories that are going to get a lot of clicks.
I really hope they close down the fake Nazi accounts. OH WAIT no one would fake to be a fucking NaziâŚ
Still find it funny after the twitter purge the other day that so many right-wing people lost as much as half their followers⌠All fucking Russian bots pushing propaganda.
Man that third image of that tweet though âschool shootings didnât happen until Obama ended segregation in schools 7 years agoâ. I⌠what? Who are they fooling with that tweet? Even the stupidest of people should know that state is 110% bullshit. lmao
**AGAIN another worthy read/watch⌠Only a few small videos.

Damn I have to tip my hat to Media Matters over these last few days. The other article was great and this one is pretty close. Shows how not only can fake info be pushed into mainstream quickly but with organization you can promote your own fake videos and demote the real ones.
But how did that kid not have access to a gun in the first place?
You know, since itâs so easy to get one with our dastardly 2nd Amendment, and lax gun control, and the NRA funding mass slaughter???
But if someone notice this kid was slowly getting unhinged and reached out to him, he wouldnât attacked 22 people.
What we need isnât Gun control, what we need is to look at mental health as a public health issue and not something to be stigmatized.
V-tech and Columbine shootings where the same way, you had a ostracized and troubled individual with all the warning signs
And no one wanted to take the humanitarian measures to approach these people get the help we need.
Hell the Columbine shooter, it was his Shrink that recommended to the parents to buy him a gun in the first place instead of getting the boy into a hobby that a little less destructive.
