Drinking is fun. Being drunk is fun. If you can’t afford a vacation, or your life sucks, getting drunk or high is the only vacation you get.
I say this as someone who’s all but quit drinking but I don’t blame people for getting drunk all the time.

NAw it makes perfect sense. Booze is cheap, it makes you feel good, and its not like you can really afford to do anything else anyway.
Oh god. I hate discord. I hate the idea of secret clubs. I hate the idea of people sharing video game information on secret clubs. That’s probably the most pointless oxymoron I’ve ever heard of and I can’t wait for the day that this pointless trend dies.
But I hate trying to engage people on a dead forum more, especially when half the people left legitimately talk like they’re paid trolls.

Same here really. It’s expensive, it’s bad for you, but it is fun. I think the best reasons to drink are because you enjoy it and it’s fun, but I can’t really shit on people for drinking for the wrong reasons because I’ve done it too here and there.

I would also rather buy a videogame, but i am also a weed head with well over 400 videogames so its really easy for me to buy Weed over a game if thats what I want to do.

Quit alcohol in 2011 lost 100 lbs and got my diabetes in check. Do not ever see the need for it again and my family and friends respect my choice to not drink.

Kindness is free, and for a lot of trans folk this is really helpful to making them feel a little less like absolute shit from day to day.

The kids and name changing just is dumb. But really student id exists for these reasons
The thing is, Poli-Sci, and other similar majors, particularly at the graduate level, are all about professor and student/grad participation and interaction.
There needs be knowing who is who, at that level, at least rudimentarily.
But it is a very easy, honest slip for a professor to misuse a preferred actual pronoun, much less a compelled non-word, non-pronoun.
Again, no one is compelling. I think the world has done a pretty good job of somehow convincing people that trans folk will litigate you or something should you misgender them once, which is just not going to happen.
Would having to maybe once or twice a day use a different pronoun (again, the wacky ones everyone memes are in no way common) for somebody really make you feel brutally uncomfortable? Imagine how they feel.
It doesn’t even have to be law.
It can be a matter of policy.
Which recursively makes it a matter of law.
It has already brought some professors under fire, endangering their jobs.
And thus undermining the educational system.
It’s a form of bridge burning.
They’re sappers.

If my work says i have to do it, then i am being compelled. Has nothing to do with me thinking Trans people are going to litigate and everything to do with my job being on the line for not using compelled speech.

If you would like to converse with me on the level that i am talking about instead of trying to exaggerate the things i say I will be happy to continue this with you, but if you are going to exaggerate the things i say, and try and make me look like someone i’m not then i wont be continuing this with you.
That’s is a huge problem on both sides of the argument, they both misrepresent, and exaggerate the other sides positions and try to smear the other through these misrepresentations.
Also I don’t have to imagine how those people feel because I’m a quiet dorky nerd. My entire childhood and a good chunk of my adulthood has been spent being ridiculed, mocked, and shit on for being a huge fucking nerd. People would would assault me in school, try to push me down the stairs, try to attack me after school walking home.
That’s real suffering. Someone not wanting to call you a woman when you have a dick isn’t suffering. In fact it shits on people who have to deal with actual suffering, like transexuals who get assaulted on the street for being trans. You being called a male by your teacher because you’re fucking male isn’t suffering. It’s a mild inconvenience at best.
Go out into the world, get some perspective and learn what actual suffering is.
