You speak as if slavery is the only thing in American history that was an overt system put in place. There was Jim Crow, forced segregation through the 60s and 70s among others. I don’t think that there are any overt racial institutions that exist at this point. However, there are things that are put in place that may disproportionately affect a certain demographic.
And notice our government got absolutely fucked by the Russians last election cycle. Random keyboard warriors being paid in Doritos and Mountain Dew did more to fuck the US than millions of dollars (rubles?) spent on guns or bombs. Defense of the country is important, but we’re well beyond the point of diminishing returns on dollars invested in armaments. Cybersecurity, and election security, seem like sweet places to spend American dollars. Education seems like a sweet place to spend American dollars if you want the population to succeed. I think your ROI on militarization is crappy compared to most anyplace else you can put it.

Have you read about how Kansas and Oklahoma have basically screwed themselves by lowering taxes to the point where the government can barely function? They only have 4 day school weeks in OK because they can’t afford to do 5 and Oklahoma already isn’t a state exactly know for its educational system.
US Military budget is insane so I’d start there.
As for Oklahoma and Kansas I’m not too familiar with the situation but I’m assuming they didn’t make the necessary spending cuts. Obviously tax cuts without spending cuts will lead to disaster.

There’s been a long term very successful effort to demonize taxes. Those are necessary to pay for critical government services, but no matter: taxes are bad. Typically everything is cut to the bone and then some. I’d suggest that in almost all cases taxes should go up, not services being cut: it’s going to be the more logical approach. And politically disastrous because everybody just wants bread and circuses.
There’s one important piece of info you’ve seen to have forgotten when doing that Google search: the amount of people that represents each category. 40% of black people are on welfare, but there are only roughly 40 million of them living in the country. Compare that to 16% of roughly 200 million people.
16% of ~ 200 million = roughly 33 million people
40% of ~ 40 million = roughly 16 million people

If Trump and the GOP keep the house and decide to all but get rid of assistance programs it will be Trump voters who will actually suffer the most. Rural White America will suffer more as they literally depend on food stamps for not only eating but for economic purposes.
