Raising taxes doesn’t effect the rich, it disproportionately effects middle class. Rich people just offshore, invert, etc.

Depends on how the tax is structured, really. You’re absolutely right for straight income tax, but capitol gains, inheritance, and luxury taxes are almost pure wealthy people taxes.

I’d argue that inheritance can be a major exception to the rule, in some circumstances.
In some circumstances, the dirt poor get to ascend to not dirt poor, but by no means rich, due to such lucky fate.
Once again, it is all pretty much a matter of degree
The inheritance tax would be catastrophic for the Amish which is one of the reasons they actually came out and voted. 2-3 generations and they’d be wiped out financially
kicked off their land
And unlike, say, Native American Reservations, they would be kicked out.
They don’t have the same protection

The Amish are taxed far less than the rest of us as is, and if there’s some sort of wild injustice about it you can always just write special Amish exceptions into the rules. There are plenty of places where we already give them special exemptions, not that hard to add more.

No: I don’t believe that thing that I did not say nor do I believe. If you go around thinking people believe things that they don’t believe based upon them saying nothing, you’re going to have a weird life.

When we’re trying to compare people that came here before this even was a country snd and those that came during the mass immigration of the early 1900s, then it is important. Labeling people solely by one or teo relatives that came during the mass immigration is shortsighted. But hey, i guess that means whitey can’t be blamed from slavery now right? Thats just a interesting bit of trivia.
I agree with you. However, with the people that came over during the mass immigration of the 1900s paved a way for citizenship to those today.
and no white person alive today is to blame for slavery. It’s the institutions that rippled out from that point in history that are the problem.

You lost me chief. Is somebody blaming you for slavery? That sounds a little silly, unless you personally are profiting from slaves.
I care as little about who somebody’s ancestors were when they’ve done evil, as I do when they’ve done good. Not sure what any of that has to do with immigration.
Yes, slavery happened. Currently the only racists institutions that exist in the USA are affirmative action.
Black Lives Matter organizers must be excited that their work is done.
