Then after the fallout lands in the ocean, the giant cyclone of currents west of the big island may catch a lot of that radioactive dirt and it would be spread around to the islands near by via normal tides.
Eventually it would be diluted in the Pacific and relatively small amounts would reach the shores of all of the continents and most islands.
