American Football 2019 Thread:

Honestly if they really offered him that without some clause that allows the franchise to cut bait at any point he would have taken it. The fact that he hasn’t probably means they are using it to shame dude into a bad deal like the players union.

It’s a typical tactic. When contract negotiations go long, leak contract offers that make the other side look bad.

So as a new raiders fan (I live in vegas don’t blame me) could this have been a thing? Keep Khalil Mack cut Carr and take Kapernick.

Still cant wrap my head around getting rid of Mack right after becoming a Vegas team.

Carr has a lot of dead money on his own contract so cutting him wouldn’t provide much, if any, financial relief. They would’ve had to trade Carr instead which they could’ve done as he’s far less valuable, but they also would’ve gotten a lot less in return for him.

How’s Las Vegas an such?

I liked the idea of something like… in the last 5 minutes only and trialing and only once not twice…You know to truly replace the onside kick.

Chiefs will go onside 4th-and-15 after every score against Denver until Elway gets fired

Is it bad of me that I want Dak to go pound sand and not get shit?

Personal bias aside (I hate the Cowboys) I’m not buying any contract numbers leaked out without guarantees. The fact that we aren’t hearing the guaranteed money being offered speaks volumes. If the guaranteed dollars were high, they’d leak those out too. A team can give a QB a 5 Year 200 Million dollar contract, but if only 40 million is guaranteed then it’s a BS deal.

Nah I want Dallas to overpay the most overrated QB in years and watch them fail for it when the talent around him isn’t A tier and he has to show he can win with B-C tier which he already showed he could not.

While the Redskins under a great coach rebuild proper, the Giants at least try to and the Eagles maintain this consistency every franchise tries to do that they have for a few years now(minus this years draft that was ass tier).

I would find it Cowboy fitting to do some Dak happy eccentric contract that fucks the team, but I am impressed they haven’t done it yet

At this point it’s not even a matter of money. There has been one consistent issue keeping Dak and the Cowboys from getting any deal done, damn any media member who tries to stir shit up otherwise because there’s nothing to talk about in a COVID Sports world. Dak wants 4 years so he can get onto the market faster. Dallas wants 5 years. That’s it.

If Dak is asking for $45 Million in his 5th Year it’s not because he expects to get it, it’s so Dallas backs off that 5th year. We’ve all been in the situation where we don’t want to do something so we ask for something absurd in return.

So Dallas can throw out these absurd contract numbers that make it look like they’re bending over backwards for someone who thinks too highly of himself. Just give him the damn 4 year deal or let him kick rocks and go with Dalton. Because he ain’t playing on the tag, ESPECIALLY this year.

Good News Everyone!

So basically not only has Vince refused to enter a bid on the XFL assets, but there are a bunch of bidders that all want the league to continue.

So yeah, we’re gonna have another XFL Season and there will be no Vince fuckery!

Meh, as a proud resident of Texas I can tell you this is both political and business economic minded of Governor Abbott. Yet if other major states like CA, NY/NJ, PA, NV, etc say no fans there is no way other owners are going to be given the revenue or competitive advantage of having even a quarter show up.

6 more bidders have come forward for the XFL so the end of the sale process has been pushed back to the first week of August.

Also the NFL…

Sorry they should admit the wrong from the past that they allowed to happen to people for peaceful actions or STFU and stay out of it…

I love football but this just makes me sick and angry… Guess in the end it ultimately took a knee for them to fake care… #RIPGEORGE

NFL “Good ole boys” kowtow’ed to Trump when Kap and other players peacefully protested police brutality…they should STFU forever.
