Sad but not surprising. The sales of the book have been on a decline for an entire year. JQ actually loved this book (his only problem with married Spider-Man doesn’t go beyond 616 really) and tried to push it as best as he can, urging fans of a married Spider-Man to pick it up. But to no avail.
There’s still the option of continuing it in Spider-Man Family. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see.
I hope May finally gives it up to Jimmy Yama in the last issue…
Spider-Girl will come back somehow. She always does. Back in the days when we were coloring the book, we were told that it will be cancelled like 3 to 4 times and it was always saved by the last minute.
And do you know, the VERY FIRST comic cover work by Arnold Tsang is actually a Spider-Girl cover -#39

Yeah hope it does come back. 130 issues plus the first ‘What If’ story all by the same writer, that’s quite a feat right there for a Marvel book nowadays. :lovin:
I was upset at first but it had a stellar run, well over 100+ issues, not including various MC2 minis.
Spider-girl will doubt appear else where, as she is a great character, so I can live with this cancellation.
Not to mention Tom Deflaco is one of two writers (other being Bendis, and not counting its reboots Ennis’ work on Punisher) in I don’t know how many years to do 100 straight issues on one whole series.
Yeah thing about Spider-Girl is whenever it faces cancellation, you’re not losing a comic book character, you are losing an entire universe, MC2… I just hope they keep including ‘Mr. And Mrs. Spider-Man’ in Spider-Man Family.
SG being canceled sucks but I guess it was bond to happen. Will it be for real this time? I don’t want it to be but it’s looking that way.

Yeah in Comic Shop News this week they said they said they might give Spider-Girl 16 pages an issue in Spider-Man Family! Now if they kept the other 10 pages of Mr. And Mrs. Spider-Man in the comic than that would be great! 26 PAGES OF MARRIED SPIDER-MAN!!! Course what will probably happen is that they’ll just drop Mr. And Mrs. Spider-Man for Spider-Girl. Ohs well…
Oh yeah I wrote to Marvel and Steve Whacker before about not cancelling Spider-Girl and extending Mr. And Mrs. Spider-Man’s pages to more than 10, that’s about all I can do ooh… I also told him not to make that “What really happened on Spider-Man’s Wedding Day” issue and just reprint the old Annual where Spidey and MJ got married instead, so I doubt me letter will get printed anywhere… 
You are a damn fine Spidey fan. If I could vote on putting someone in a position of power at Marvel, I’d vote for you over Loeb or Bendis any day of the week besides Sunday.
Hey thanks! But I wouldn’t want to inherit 616 Spidey after this current mess. How the heck can you… get the marriage fans they lost back and not lose the BND fans? That’s like Obama inheriting the country after 8 years of Bush oooh… I mean I’m happy that Obama won but I sure don’t envy the guy…
EDIT: What I’d like to see? Spidey break the Mephisto deal somehow, realize that the little girl in OMD was May that Norman Osborn captured during the time he faked the miscarriage (these are all speculations you can draw with regards to things in the stories, not that this is how Marvel officially calls it) and retrieve the child. Then take it from there, Spidey married with a daughter. Don’t know if that’s what fans want to see and I KNOW JQ doesn’t want any of that to happen… at least in 616…
Bendis on Ultimate and New Avengers I don’t mind, his Spidey is one of the bright spots in 616. He hasn’t dealt with the whole marriage thing just yet so you can ignore that stuff and enjoy his books.
Loeb… He REALLY wants Gwen Stacy to come back to life. Him having power over Spider-Man scares me… If only he cared that much about Sabretooth… :wasted:

More good news! Steve Whacker said that Spider-Man Family will go monthly next year, so we will get our Spider-Girl adventures monthly instead of bi-monthly! :woot:
On the downside Mr. And Mrs. Spider-Man will not go past the fourth entry in Spider-Man Family. So when Spider-Girl begins, Mr. And Mrs. will end. I heard the last few installments of Mr. And Mrs. will tie into Spider-Girl though. So chances are we can expect Rhino in Spider-Girl who was in the third Mr. And Mrs. entry, hey maybe even his daughter might show up…

Yeah he got a happy ending of sorts in Mr. And Mrs. Spider-Man. As far as we know anyway, no clue what’s happened to him the last 15 + years.
