I enjoyed MVC1 a lot more than MVC2…
I absolutely guarantee that anyone who enjoyed MvC1 more than MvC2 has never experienced either at a competitive level (granted, neither have I, but I’ve seen how ridiculously stupid high-level MvC1 is).
edit: in before “and MvC2 isn’t?” from some moron

We all love fighting games where top level matches last under 2 minutes!
There are actually waaay more retarded vids you could have linked to prove your point.
you’re not alone OP
first of all, THAT’S considered top level? both of those guys have a lot of holes in their gameplay
second, MvC goes a lot faster than that. the damage is reduced in that vid, I don’t know why
edit: uhhh nevermind. it’s not reduced. those guys just don’t finish their comboes or something…
mirc: yes
Am I the only one who thinks any fighting game with “versus” in the title is ass?
Is it even worse for OP that this isnt the gayest the game has to offer? :looney:
ST in the house bitches!
I prefer 1 over 2. Of course, I’m crap at both so what do I know.
I liked 1 more than 2. 1 seemed like they took more time out in creating levels music and such. I think Honda’s bath house was in the game.
Shoryuken Dot Com: Your Competitive Edge
cept for cvs 2 and that other second edition of 1 with joe init.
I like them both but 1 is actually much more broken. And if you know how broken 2 can be, then you really understand.
Good thing mvc2 had 6 attack buttons!
ahahah nice
kinda
MVC1 had better presentation, music and a more sensible gameplay. As a product, I prefer it but to be honest my interest with the Marvel series ended when MvC1 came out. I didn’t like what it meant for the future of 2d fighting games and their nonsensical attack patterns. MvC2 came out and confirmed my worst fears honestly. That seizure inducing gameplay and the ultimate desire of taking control away from your opponent > dynamic play. I can see this attitude prevail in shooters, MMO’s etc. Snipers, Rogues and other archtypes of players satisfied in the inability of their opponent having action against them as much as possible.
All cause, and effect onto themselves kept to an ultimate minimum. I like being able to counter my opponents dynamics in a fighting game. Nothing satisfies me more than kicking out someone from the air on a jump in. I want my opponent to throw all he has at me and lose. Dozen hit combos that last half the round are not the kind of thing I strive for, and keep me from falling in love with even games like Blazblue, where you need to expect seeing half your life vanish to a Bread and Butter combo and keep your cool and like it.
MvC1 at least somewhat kept the head to head feel of the previous vs games, while its sequel basically said fuckit whatever give them what they want.
lol at people saying MvC1 wasnt as good, true MvC1 had duo team supers. And Maybe have you ever thought it doesnt have the BS of MvC2 like triangle jumps, which I didnt like at all. Snap back infinite combos? Yes and dont forget MvC1 is more balanced then MvC2, assist dont count. MvC1 tier list was a lot bigger with War, Gold war, Wolv, Strider and Red Venom. Compared to MvC2 Storm, Sent, Mag and Cable.
The music was better in 1.
Though I still prefer 2.
Ba-zing!
