I’m getting sick and tired of gamestop’s BS also I think I might cancel my PS4 pre-order from there and either pre-order on Amazon or get one at walmart since I work there…
yes it is a waist of money

you can either wait until it comes out on the 8th gen console and spend $60 or you can play it right away and spend a total of $70. Doesn’t sound stupid to me.
They think you’re stupid…come on, GS will lower trade in price values if they deem the game needs “resurfacing”, then look at the condition of the stuff on the shelf. It’s hilarious
Yeah but looking at the sudden infusion of copies turning up at Gamestops it seems there was a reprint and they are instantly converting the new copies into “used” stock and charging the higher price.
Gamestop has some nice stuff every once in awhile. Their 50% extra on systems right now is pretty legit; I got a xbox360 for $40 with a broken hdmi port. I traded it in and got about 120$ worth of credit.
Gamestop can be booty butt, but this deal doesn’t seem particularly terrible. I don’t fault people for being wary of Gamestop and their shenanigans though, especially in these trying economic times.
Fortunately, I have a waist of money, so even if I spent a bunch on this kind of stuff I could just pull a fresh wad of Franklins right out of my abdomen.
Should have fixed the HDMI port and sold it for more.
More proof that GS is satin.
Does it hurt having a waist of money?
I don’t know guys, I guess looking at the deal from the upgrade prospective makes a little sense, but I wouldn’t go out and buy a game and then get it again for the new system - would just weight for it and buy it once. But I reckon there are people out there who do that sort of thing.
Of course, I say this having owned every iteration of Street Fighter 4 so far, and plan on buying it again when Ultra comes out. And most likely I’ll end up getting it from GameStop on day one.
I still see this particular deal as kinda shady, though. Seems like GameStop is trying to beef up their overpriced used game sales with this one.
Honestly, it’s great to have a second opinion on what you’re selling. Trying different outlets at the extend of your own leisure should reward. The profit made should match the effort of exploration. Sometimes you just wanna get rid of something and sell to the most convenient place. This is where GS comes in.
Oh, I get it now. Hardy-fucking-Har, guys. I wrote that shit at 7:30 this morning, with a head full of sleep still.
Dammit. It is kind of funny though.
I have a Power Up Rewards account with GameStop- I know, you could argue that it’s a waist of money, but I do take advantage of some of the better deals. Anyway, I got an email from them this morning advertising that if I purchase one (or any) of a select number of new games for the 360 at $60, I can trade it in later for the Xbox One version of the same game for only $10 more!! This means I would end up paying $70 total for the game…
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I read somewhere (I’m pretty sure it was IGN) that Xbox One games will be retailing at $60, the same price as new games are now, so why would I pay an additional $10 per game when I can just wait until the system comes out and get the games for ultimately cheaper than their deal offers?

Does that seem like a good deal to you? It seems like garbage to me, and the only one who is benefiting is GameStop by getting premium games traded back to resell and make a killing on them.
It depends on how much time and quality weigh into your evaluation of value.
In this case you look at the opportunity cost between having an “inferior version” of the game earlier, which is $10. So is $10 worth the early gaming time? If so, it’s a good deal for you. If not, then it’s not.
So does that seem like a good deal to me? My answer is: no, because I’m not getting an XBone or PS4 anytime soon. But if I was, then my answer would be: it depends on the game and time between the X-Box 360 and XBone releases.

Who shops at Gamestop anymore? The smart ones buy at the indy shops.
You misspelled Amazon and eBay.

More proof that GS is satin.
I love you. :clapdos:
Full bromo.
Thread title: Am I missing something, or does GameStop really think I’m an idiot?
… I know, you could argue that it’s a waist of money…
I do realize that this has been pointed out already many times, thus far, with Vynce’s droll pith being the most sublime example…
…but yes, yes GameStop DOES think you are an idiot.
Try not to take it personally - everyone who shops there gets treated that way.
Even those who proofread their posts.
It is one of myriad reasons why Amazon has become so successful.
The only genuine reason to ever shop at GameStop is for exclusives.
The reason why GameStop thinks its customers are idiots is because you have to be an idiot to shop at GameStop.
