Alpha Generations is a month away - Any Info?

Your choice, a monthly comic, or we do an anime every maybe year or 2 but no comic… I actually wanna know what you guys would prefer. I am serious.

Though the comics seem to be getting on-track again which keeps me happy I prefer anime myself. I just like seeing SF put on the screen.

Shizzle… an Udon anime. FUCK!!!

But I’m gonna have to say go with the comic. You’ve started it and I want to see it finished.
If you finish the comic Udon, it will be the first time we will have the a full SF story in any medium which is excellent.

I AM OFFICIALLY ON BOARD FOR A UDON PRODUCED ANIME MOVIE!

Whilst I love the comic series i would give it all away for a semi regular series of animated movies. Afterall, the comic can only go so far and it is an inevitably limited medium. I truly believe that Udon actually understands the SF universe and if given the proper oppurtuinty could produce something the fans could be proud of. Street Fighter the Animated movie came out 10 years ago and it is still the undisputed source. It is the benchmark that all street fighter related works should aspire to.

I’m BEGGING U UDON - Street Fighter 3 needs to be documented on screen. Don’t do it in your comic. Finish your comic work at 2 and make the film we’ve been waiting for.

No I’d much rather have a comic for now as I wish you guys finish what you began, especially with no one else having combined aspects of SFZ and SF2 and no one really touching SF3. Yeah, I pretty much agree with what coco_j said. So many factors can go wrong when producing Animation it’s not even funny, you can do a lot more stuff in a comic and not have to worry about the budget so long as an artist can draw it.

And once the comic is over, maybe you can make the animes then… Im sure Capcom would renew your license. And you would already have a good storyboard to work from - the comic!

Hmm i would luv you guys to do an anime, but i have to agree with sano it would be better you finshed off the comics.

I duuno how far you want to take the comics but if you get upto the 3s stories that would be good enough, I think pretty much everyone would be happy that way.

Of course after the comics are done, you could look at the possibilties of making a SF anime, im sure coco_j is right in saying capcom would renew your license.

Simply put you should consider a SF anime as a future project in the next couple of years or so.

definitly finish the comic, I even wouldn’t say “finsh”, you better GO ON with the fantastic comic. And please don’t let this Anime Idea make you guys rush the comic production by any means just keep it like you have done it…Now if anime plans comes after the comic is naturally done I’m absolutly with you…

I couldn’t agree with Sano more. Stay with the comic for now.

I agree, stay with the comic for now. But the movie looks like it’ll be good IMO. It has fast pace action and they give Ryu them more freedom of how to use there Hadoken, there not just getting in the stance like they do in the video games to fire off an Hadoken, the movie shows them thowing Hadokens with one hand and stuff. I like the art in the first alpha movie better though.

The cover looks nice doesn’t it…Well, at least we know it’s not a sequel now and it’s an OVA Prequel to the first movie. Let us await on Street Fighter Alpha: 2. Hahaha.

Anyway, movie doesn’t look great, 50 minutes is not long either. How much was their budget -_-

This movie looks like its gonna suck

I met the dude who’s playing Gouki’s voice. The guy was BUILT. Like crazy built. I shook his hand and it was like he was going to crush my hand. Nice guy though. He gave me freebies and autographed them.

I must say, the cover art of the DVD looks amazing.
Though, Akuma’s face looks, uh, weird (in the movie).

Still, good nor not, its Street Fighter and it has my full support.

SF:G is comedy gold

Did you know -
That cover is actually done by Alvin Lee and colored by Gary Yeung? We have to based the character designs on the OVA look.

Erik Ko:

I’m with most of the others on this. If at all possible, finish up the comic (I love them, just wish I could find more…), and THEN move on to an anime offering. I’m willing to wait.

If it’s a case of “Pick one, you cannot have both”, well…it’d be a real shame for the only decent SF comic ever to just die half-way in. But. But, I have a general preference for anime vs. comic-book, so my vote in such a case would be for an anime release.

Thanks for letting us chime in with opinions, by the way. That’s neat of you to do.

To those wondering about Alpha Generations…yes. It’s horrible. Those guys who were claiming that we spent the entire time making fun of the movie in MST3K style, then loudly boo’ing the film once it was over, are dead on. It SUCKED. At least the poster was okay. Pity that’s the nicest thing I can say about it.

Yes, UDON should make a full anime movie. Ken should write it too. But you got it right, it is the case of “Pick one, you cannot have both”. Working on a movie takes a lot of time. If UDON makes a full feature movie, they’ll probably have to stop the comic series for about a year!

There are still more Street Fighter anime’s in the works though.

Where did you hear this?

The anime expo in Toronto last weekend. Manga and UDON reps Erik Ko stated that there will be more.

Okay. Did they show SFA Generations at the Expo? If so what did you think?
