Alpha Generations is a month away - Any Info?

More anime in the works? I’m hoping this will help the comic sales. I want them to make a street fighter anime based on the comics that Udon has written wonderfully.

Yeah a SF anime TV series whould be great! And I’m talking about atleast 50-60 episodes.

So uh, if I wanna rent this movie, where would I find it under? Comedy or Drama?

Seriously though, you people cant be hoping for another SF movie, even if it is based off of Udon Comics. Haven’t you people learned from every fighting game movie ever released?

They never stick to the original plot anyway, I can only imagine the Dead or Alive movie will be a porno.

DoA has a plot? And concerning it being a porno, we can only hope so! :stuck_out_tongue:

Who cares if they dont stick to the original plot? SF’s actual plot is so messed up anyway that they really couldn’t put it into an actual anime and have it make any sense. The best plot for a SF anime in my opinion would be to do a straight translation of the Alpha Manga.

Anyway, I get the feeling most people watch the SF animes strictly for the fights anyway. I watch the SF2 anime maybe twice a year, but I watch the fights like twice a month while skipping all the “plot”.

What makes you think they cant do anything about the plot? Its not a complex plot, especially the plot in the Alpha series, either having it revolve around Cammy & Bison or Gen and Akuma, also they could have all of your over exagurated fight scenes in it even if they did work on a more accurate plot.

Seriously, its like Dragon Ball GT all over again (or Z after the Frieza saga).

I too skim through that SF2 movie just for the fight scenes sometimes, but i’d actually watch the whole movie again if some things weren’t full of shit (bison giving up his psycho powers to fight “fair and square” - what kinda shit is that? Bison would never fight you fair and square for shit in the games). Balrog and E.Honda falling off a cliff and coming back unscathed - same as Guile (oh yeah, Guile also manages to unleash a sonic boom bigger than his Sonic Hurricane in that movie too).

If fighting is all people really cared about in the SF movies no one would be complaining about the plot - but if fighting is what really people care about, then a KOF Anime would definately pwn the SF anime’s.

The plot of Street Fighter is messed up in general because of the insertion of the Alpha series. I’m not going to elaborate because anyone who knows SF understands how much the SF story was changed/altered/warped because of the Alpha series.

People do care about the plot, but since the whole theme of the game/anime is “fighting” the plot isn’t really all that super important as long as the fights are done well. I don’t see what was so bad about Bison fighting on their level/Honda and Balrog not dying/and Guile’s Sonic Boom.

Even if Bison was fighting them on their own level by the end he was definately getting his ass handed to him and when the double Hadou Ken came at him I’m pretty sure he was using Psycho power. No one stares death in the face without doing everything they can to protect themselves.

You can’t kill Honda, he’s the comedy relief.

Guile’s Sonic Boom was kick ass. And when this anime was made there was no such thing as a Sonic Hurricane, so you can’t compare it to that.

When people complain about plot they are complaining about Gouki being Ryu’s father and Shun being his brother. The SF2 anime didn’t really need a plot as it was the first anime/movie of SF and the fighting is what was supposed to be established.

Don’t start a SF vs. KOF flame war.

The fighting in SNK animes are in no way better than the fighting in SF animes. It’s just different.

well first off, the reason why bison decided to fight with ryu and ken at their own level is because, if he hadn’t there wouldnt be much of a fight to watch. you see what bison did to guile? guile didnt even get a single punch in him. Ryu was getting his ass handed to him on a silver plate. Plus you must remember that bison main goal was to recruit ryu and not kill him. Im pretty sure why e.honda didnt get hurt when falling down the cliff is because he might of had landed on top of balrog. Guile fell down and go hurt pretty bad. Not every movie going to be perfect. I think street fighter had a good balance of story and fight scenes

Fatal Fury fight scenes are good but have you notice most of the fight scenes is consist of mostly super moves and fireballs? Street fighter fight scenes has some realistic moves and sequences, example is the feilong vs ryu, They only use their special moves when needed. KOF is like watchig a very big fire work and blowing things up.

Fatal Fury:The Motion is pretty embarassing for a movie adaptation. The only thing they stuck true to was the character profiles: Terry being the lone wolf, Kim the honourable, Andy and Mai’s relation, Joe’s championship wins and egotistical, joke behavior, blah blah). Sure, the moves were present, but do they always have to rely on supers/special attacks. Hand-to-hand combat is the basis, yet in this movie(I am guessing that you are refering to Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture.) only Kim and Joe seemed to understand that. Fireball this and that should be secondary. Apparently, the animation crew improved slightly on their next effort, Street Fighter Alpha.

I also have a concern with their addition of the new characters that came from their asses and not the franchise holders. Why did they add them in the first place? Dr Silus? Longren?
Sure, anime is anime and video games are video games, but there are 30+ main characters in those franchises alone. Surely, you can make up something out of the given series that may not be canon, but at least feasable.

As for Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie’s crew did a bang up job on demonstrating the basis of fighting principle. Their uses of characters and their fight scenes were well orchastrated.

You can’t say that, and there is a KOF anime (thats currently in production) btw.

Its like you’re basicly saying “I like KOF better then SF, so any KOF animated thing that comes out is going to be better then any animated SF thing coming out” like HOW would you know the fights in the KOF anime will be better if you haven’t seen it yet? Cause you can’t base it on the KOF games, since there’s nothing saying how close the anime will stick to the games, or how many fights there’d be, etc, etc.

Manga & SF

I just read how Manga plans to do more SF related stuff, but there’s something I don’t get.

First there was the SF2: Animated Movie, which wasn’t even released/published by Manga, it was released by Renegade Entertainment, but then Manga decided to fund an SF anime movie, which they said (to the production company) that they wanted a sequel to the SF2 anime, but the company ended up making a SFA anime that of course wasn’t a sequel nor did it fit with the SF2 anime, so then they funded another SF anime which Im guessing they wanted to be a sequel to the SFA anime, but it wasn’t even done by the same group, and seems to be a prequel rather then a sequel, so Im only wondering how much more screwy this is all going to get because Manga dosn’t ever seem to get what they want, or rather seem to always want something good, but then get stuck with something diffrient.

Also for anyone who’s seen the new anime are the dub actors still the same as the ones from the last SFA anime, because it dosn’t seem like it, which is odd, because I think Ryu has always been played by the same VA in all the dubs (same with Guile, Chun Li, and Bison too I think) and it be dumb if they all of a sudden decided to go with diffrient VAs.

I’d give my first born child for an Udon SF Anime…Maybe even my second born…Definetly both if they made it about SF3.

reads posts
Wait… Is there more than one Alpha movie? I’ve only got the one that has the kid Sora look alike claiming to be Ryu’s brother.

Ugh I actually got to watch the SF cartoon series at work today? It was like combining Street Fighter, Captain Planet and G.I Joe. Probably the worst part was watching the Ryu and Ken vs. Akuma fight. Oh wait, more like Ken vs. Akuma fight, for some reason they made Ken the big hero and Ryu a HUGE dork (sounded like a 16 year old with a cold. Plus they pronounced his name Rai ooh) I’m not trying to bash Ken fans or anything but they should have made it a team effort to beat Akuma. I do have to give them props for being some what accurate (Gouken being killed by Akuma, Akuma has raging demon.) Oh wait, Gouken wasn’t killed, his “chi was stolen” and he wound up surviving afterwards. Complete garbage.

Oh and Chun-li was a news reporter

Despite all the criticisms, I’ll have to check out Generations for myself.Even though none of my favorite characters are in it, I’m still intrigued by the narrowly focused story.Still, I would love to see a comprehensive SF anime TV series(especially if it centers around SFIII)but I wouldn’t exactly jump for joy if UDON did it. No disrespect, but it wasn’t like the comic was the high point of Five-Star comic storytelling. But if they did it, I wouldn’t mind.

@UDON

Finish the comic then port it over to a 26 episode anime series.

Everyone wins.

so when will this be released?

I wasn’t getting into a KOF movie vs SF movie, I just mentioned it to bash the recent SF movies that have been released (and I was talking shit too). You didn’t have to take that literally.

And I know that there is a [supposedly] KOF Anime in the works (there is still debate on that wether its just an opening for the next KOF game or something along those lines, plus on the thread in SNK-Capcom.com I think it was mentioned thats it not an anime, though I donno why people got into that, I think I may have missed what proof was provided of this but I dont really care much anyway).

Also, considering the characters personalities and crazy fighting styles in the KOF Games, im pretty sure a KOF Anime would pwn a SF Anime as far as fighting goes. If they can make someone like Ryu throw Kamehameha waves, imagine wtf Kyo, Rugal and all those other mother fuckers will be throwing out?

And if they did stuck to the game (as far as the story goes - it’d be even better, as far as the fighting goes, its nothing but beat downs). I can tell you one thing though, it will be better because its a fucking change overall, if a KOF anime is in the works, atleast it will take the spotlight for once, too many fangirls.

Seriously, how many of you here give a shit about Ryu and the Dark Hadou anymore? After the Dark Hadou it pretty much becomes boring. 10yrs later, Ryu is still training… trying to master his fighting art… and with this, he gains something even better than the Dark Hadou! the HADOUKEN OF LIGHT! Which beats AKUMA’S EVIL PURPLE ENERGY! But wait… RYU IS STILL WEAK AS SHIT! Stay tuned, for SF4! which will be released in 10yrs from now… and we dont know why since we fucking know where the plot is headed, its a fucking no brainer unless Capcom decides to stall the series like they do with Megaman and Resident Evil.

I do give more credit to the SF2 movie though. Atleast it wasn’t an over exagurated peice of shit like SFA.

Also, about the guy who commented about Bison not wanting to kill Ryu - He could have still used as much force as he used on Ken when he got him above his airplane. Your giving me “What could ofs” but never happened or the people that made it realized by the end of the project that they made Bison too god damn strong so they had to find some way to make him lose.

Bison freakin’ raped Ken on that airplane (Actually he made him rape himself), and if Ryu couldn’t lay a hand on him (not to mention he could teleport all over the place) im pretty sure he could burn Ryu unconsious for a few minutes just like he did to Ken and then taken him prisoner. You gotta admit, it was a poor excuse for Bison to be defeated.

Maybe Akuma is OROCHI!

“A KOF Anime would pwn a SF Anime as far as fighting goes.”

That definately sounds like you are getting into a KOF movie VS. SF movie debate. In fact that is exactly what you are doing when you come in here and start thrashing SF characters. Take your Street Fighter hating ass outta here.

And as far as Bison losing, the bottom line is Bison got killed, end of story. If he wasn’t trying his best then he deserved to get blown up.

Bison didnt really die though…remember that he tried to run Ryu over with a truck at the end.

I get the feeling that was really just a bonus for those who managed to suffer through the end credits.
