Thanks for that, but here’s an example of what I mean. (I haven’t fully tested this, it’s just an estimate) Even with the dummy set to backwards recovery, if you stand there and throw over and over, maybe 2 out of 10 times the cpu wont flip. It becomes anoying when practicing combos as sometimes you think “Ahh!” and it turns out the computer was just lazy. Like I said before this also happens in the Saturn version, I find it wierd the same thing is in AA aswell.
Middlekick - Thanks! The thing with c.Short->whiff c.Strong, s.Jab is that it will combo, but they still don’t tech. So it wasn’t the airthrow breaking the rules (although after c.Short->c.Fierce->s.RH, airthrow will grab when nothing else has a prayer). GGXX has a similar “feature” in that if you get below a certain height you can’t tech at all, but sometimes you can still be hit with the right setup.
I have to learn how to play 3s-ism Dhalsim though.

That’s weird man, the independent game store I shop @ in Hamilton got their copies in today, so yours might be coming soon too.
for those of you who still dont have the game, watch this to keep you excited.

NOTE: whenever recording with my tv tuner, it has like a 4 second latency, so i pretty much did this stuff blind…
What’s Super Cancelling?
So wait… the alpha collection is are just ports of the PSOne games? Meh the PSone games were mostly arcade perfect anyway, i had all 3 Psone alphas, its nice to have them all on 1 disc.
The Alpha games are ARCADE PERFECT, A1 through A3.
Why settle for a lousey, used 40GB sony drive, when for about the same price you can get a new high-quality, 80GB-120GB computer HDD?
Then all one needs are the network adaptor+HDAdvance 3.0, and your good to go with a FAR better setup.
Interrupting a special move with a super, or (in only a few games, and only a few special circumstances) a super with another super or a super with a special.
You can cancel a special into a super in SFIII. You can cancel a super into another super in MvC2, or CvS2 (lvl. 2 into lvl. 1 or lvl. 2 into special, C-groove only).
I was playing Super Gem Fighter as Felicia and all of a sudden Dan came out and challenged me. How did I do this? And, can Akuma appear as well? Anyone know?
Yeah, that delay alone after Dee Jay’s max out seriously nerfs him, and hinders many pressure tactics with him. The delay after the Maxout was added in Upper in the arcades, and in Double Upper on the PSP.
Hm, maybe I haven’t explored enough but there … doesn’t seem to be any specific character VC in the guide … ?
It lists for many characters the greatest source of damage being their VC however … it doesn’t list any. Am I missing a page or did I overlook something? Cause that kinda blows. I bought it specifically looking for that kind of information as V-ISM is the hardest to master.
There’s no need for capitals since Kotobi Cancels don’t behave the same way they do in the arcade.
Edit: ^Yeah, thanks for posting that, I think I’ll pass on the guide…
Ah, that I can’t help with. That’s just one of those things…everything else seemed consistent, but I remember specifically there being throws that the CPU didn’t always air recover from. But, IIRC the dummy flipped when it could, except for when throws were involved.
It tells VC combos for every character in each game. I really think you need to look at the guide closer. I mean…it’s in big letters at the end of each characters section.
Big letters my ass
Nevermind. It’s there. I’m retarded.
The guide comes highly recommended overall. Especially for Alpha and Alpha 2 fans.
I don’t know how to fight cpu dan or akuma but i know they are both in there. you can also play as them as well but i don’t know the method.
theyre just invisable boxes next to ryu and ken. no special method, just move the cursor into the gaps
I have a spare 200gig hdd for HDA 2.0 but not all games work in that setup, especially the rare game that does support in game install with the Sony HDD, like Street Fighter Alpha Anthology. SFAA will not work with HDA at all. It is the truth.
With the JPN PS2 setup and BroadBand Navigator software, I can surf the net, download videos, and demos in the predecesor of Xbox 360 Live.
Playstation BBNavigator is ahead of it’s time.
Back to the subject, Capcom was nice to support the North American HDD. Only if they decide to release Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection once the PS3 comes out.
You have HDA 2.0? Well i have HDA 3.0 like i said earlier, which may have better compatableity, so far the only game i’ve had not work with it is capcom classics collection. Everything else is fine so far.
Ummm who cares? I have my Pc if i want to surf the net, download videos, etc. I got the HDA stuff for GAMES.
