Regarding the Akuma throw bug, I never saw it done with any type of consistency, but I’ve seen it happen every so often in matches (quite rare though.) I also don’t know the exact method to set it up either (other than what I just told you.) But thanks for trying it for me.

As for the Balrog AC glitch, iirc i remember hearing this from Apoc himself about the alpha counter glitch, my mind is mad fuzzy though haha. You know how it is when the OG’s in general, i mean they fuck shit up but they have the most ghettooooooooo sf terminology, hahaha.

I find it strange that some bugs work, while others dont. Could you please test the L-ISM Karin/Vega throw bug I listed when you have a chance?

EDIT: About the Karin VC, damn, I wish I had a copy to test now lol. The bug youre talking about works on PSX and arcade a3 (dont know about other revisions.)

Akuma’s airthrow bug occurs when you throw the opponent while he is at a very low altitude, for example if you throw him just as he is leaving the ground. One easy way to reproduce it is to throw ryu or akuma while they are doing their hop kick.

What exactly happens in the bug you’re referring to with Akuma’s air throw? When playing the arcade version, I’ve seen Akuma grab an opponent out of the air, start rolling and dropping like usual, but then as soon as he touches the ground, the opponent falls out of his grasp and bounces on the ground while Akuma continues rolling backward and doing the throw animation blissfully unaware that he’s not even holding the opponent anymore. It didn’t really seem to have any effect gameplay-wise, so maybe you’re referring to something else I haven’t seen.

If that is what you’re referring to, the only necessary factor seems to be grabbing the opponent while fairly close to the ground.

I think it was mentioned up-thread that crouch cancelling works in the normal and arrange version of Alpha 3 (yay?).

Dammit, World tour mode in the us. version…I can see it now, it would be so much easier for good ol’ capcom usa to just make a front end and put crappy ol’ psx versions of the existing games then to properly translate and port the jp ver. That would explain the conflicting reports and why this game is coming out here so quickly. Man, I hope i’m wrong. Oh well I will have to buy a swap magic if that’s the case.

It does have an effect, and a negative one : because of this bug, you will sometime recover after your opponent, even though you were the one who did the throw.

What exactly are they … translating? These games already exist in English :confused:

this is a good way to spend just around 30 bucks and this is the best way to make capcom care about fighting titles.

For the people worrying about the gamespot article, they could’ve been thinking “Oh, it’s probably like the other ports of Alpha, we’ll just type some random stuff instead of playing the game” so I wouldn’t worry unless more than one place reports the same thing.

I’ve been thinking the same thing myself lets hope Capcom is not going to fuck the U.S. fans because if they do I won’t buy another fucking thing Capcom releases.

The hastily compiled theory is that they would be taking the existing us psx1 ports and just slap em in, instead of going through and editing/replacing all the new features, name swaps and programming in the new jp ver. Even if the jp version includes some of the us ver. it would still take work. Again I hope I am wrong and the us version has even more features then the jp one. But, do you think this gamespot guy unlocked anything at all? He probably played for like 15 minutes if at all. let alone find something not discovered yet.

Well, I just watched one of the gamespot movies, and it definitely wasn’t the psx version of SFA2…

well well well… hmmm has their ever been a game that had extra that the Japanese didn’t have NO…NEVER they got evil ryu we didn’t… I agree with the above poster were getting a1,2,3, and pocket PSX VERSIONS that would explain why jason cole said it wasnt arcade perfect… wheres the best place to buy a swap thingy that ships here in the usa?
