PS-ism? Which combo?
What’s renda cancelling? I’m not familiar with that term.
I think that’s what it was called in the AE guidebook? I never saw a name put on it until then… But it’s the ability to cancel out of rapid fire weak attacks with a jump.
Normally, if you land a RFWA, you can do another one the moment it hits and cancel into itself again. But if you hold up during the RFWA, and you do another one, it will cancel into a jump instead of another RFWA… basically, hitting the button makes you jump.
It’s how all those weird jab->jab->jab->jump roundhouse style combos are done.
Question for the Alpha 3 pros over here:
I was playing A3 today with the earliest version of the game(you know, hold down R2 and select which version you want to play, dipswitches, etc.) and I was using A-Guy against V-R.Mika. So everytime she’d knock me down after a sweep or throw Guy would stay laying down on the ground for about 2 or 3 seconds. Any clue as to what that is?
r mikas shooting peach keeps you on the ground for an unusually long time, allowing for easy otgs :o.

Interesting. I think its time to play a little more A3 right now. Right now I’m playing with A-Guy, A-Sim, A-Vega and V-Ryu.
There’s a dipswitch star to turn off that particular effect of Mika’s Peach moves (I’m pretty sure it applies to both the Flying Peach and the Shooting Peach, as well as the one at the end of her QCFx2+P super in A-ISM), so it might have originally been a glitch.

There’s something that confuses me… Why in HSFA do Zangief and Dhalsim have A2 Classic characters, yet in Z2/A2 on the collection they don’t have them? Is there a code to use them in Z2/A2? I know you hold start when choosing Chun-Li for her other costume, but I don’t know about the others.
Codes work for Alpha 2 and Zero 2 Alpha only.
Classic Dhalsim
Put cursor on DHALSIM Hold Start and Press left, down, right, up And Prees Any Button.
Classic Zangief
Put cursor on ZANGIEF Hold Start and Press down, left, left, left, left, up, up, right, right right, right, downAnd Prees Any Button.
Anyone else notice how fucked up the damage is on throws for the a1-a2 characters etc? There pretty damn random, geifs SPDs and super SPDs all do really low damage looking at other characters. And some characters just make no sence like sodom. Regular spds from him do more damage then even his level 2 SPD supers. Makes no sence…
I noticed that with SFA3 and A2 Zangief. His Z-ism SPD, 360+K, and FAB all do a lot more damage than his A2 counterpart. He seems to have more range, too. Speaking of which, I thought A2 Zangief could cancel out of his standing forward???
Also, A3’s Lariats do a lot more damage than A2’s. The thing juggles anyone, so they end up getting pelted with the second or sometimes third swing. He has a huge guard bar, so I dont htink he will really suck as much as the rest of the A3 chars…
Some supers, throw supers in particular, I’m assuming do fixed damage. So, if Akuma’s SGS does 70 points of damage to A3 Zangief, it also does 70 points to CE Vega, because the damage is predermined, and not added up per-hit like most other moves are…
A3 Zangief will be mean vs CE.
I was just playing… and i noticed a little blue and red icon down on the bottom of the screen, between the 2 super meters. I quit out just as I noticed it… what is it? I couldn’t get it back.
It was like a little poke-ball or something. half blue half red down the middle.

This blue/red ball, is the sign for the mazi mode. And when i did this i played my character in Blue-ism and selected for the trainings dummy also the blue-ism. But was not the fact. I just tapped down once to go on mazi and didn’t push the start button.
I thought I mixed 3rd-ism with mazi mode. I was like O_O. This would crazy if there would be a glitch that allows you to mix the S-ism with the modes. Something like DS-ism with mazi (chain combos with super high damage), or CE-ism with classic (CE-ism characters with even more damage [no good] and with the movelist from SSF2.)
But hey, this isn’t possible, is it? ^_~
well i think in genral moves a lot of moves dont do as much damage as there suppose to do, or do random damage compared to there regular attacks. Another good example would be pick rolento and do his trip, choke you slam you whatever it is super. The level 3 litteraly does like 15% damage. Its pretty sad. Theres a lot of obscruities like that for some reason.
Wow so get this, I played today and for some reason I couldnt recreate those low damaging SPDs, supers throws etc. Well it would appear in this you can acctualy TECH super throws. Cuz if I put teching on and then did super throws, they all did reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally low damaging. So I guess that explains why throws even SPDs in this game randomly dont damage me at all. Cuz im acctualy teching them. Cept you dont tech them, the game just makes them do like no damage…

Has anyone figured out which star on the dip switch settings for SFA2 that changes the super combo button strength method to that of SFA3 ??
I like how capcom changed in A3 from that of A2, it’s alot more simpler and easier.
(A3= LP, MP, HP / LK, MK, HK … A2= LP, MP + MK, HP + HK)
lol, this CE-ISM is retartdly good, not even fair, lol, I played a friend using CE-ISM Ken and it was over pretty quickly, way too much damage.
Other random things…
Chun lis flip kick, guys flip kick(not a3 guys flip kick), ryus jump mp, gens duck lk are untechable if done on a dizzy opponent.
Cody can be juggled even AFTER he recovers from a attack. So say with guy I anti air stand p cody. I can think walk up, and then air juggle him after he recovers. That kinda stuff. So you have a lot of time to juggle him.
Akuma,ken, and ryus hurricane kick can no longer crosses up chun li in the second player corner.(a1)
Akuma(a1-a2) can no longer walk over bodies after his rageing demon. So you can no longer say in the corner, rageing demon walk over then attack to cross up that kinda stuff… Of course just jumping and crossing up still works but not walking over the body shrug. Also it would seem you cant combo after his super fireball anymore ethier. I was thinking since fireballs act differently then they did in a1 etc now maybe you could get super fireball mid screen to juggle… But looks like you cant juggle after it period now… Bummer…
Ryus lk hurricane kick to super fireball seems easier to me now… Of course the other a1 juggles are all harder unfortantly, or just not possible. All the jump mp after super hurricane kick, or super to super fireball. They just dont work, or are much much harder or character specific now. You can get shoryuken to super fireabll on cody, and you can get it to hit really early, so he bounces off after one hit then flys away and gets by the last one later. If you have some crazy timeing, tiger knee hurricane kick foward after the super fireball, then assuming your next to him try and go for the super hurricane kick to juggle.
