god why does everyone wanna play v sak shes so annoying.Ever since ricky used her att ecc6 id say 50% of east coast players play her.
Itās because players realize how braindead and easy sakura is. boring as fuck to play, and more boring to play against. but i dont hate on no one that uses her
Yeah, Sak is sorta the Cable of A3, so people who arenāt really into the game can still do pretty well with her. Learning how to handle sak with [your character] is pretty much required learning (ditto that with Akuma, Gief, etc, but especially w/Sak).
Ricky, arturo, me, nibor⦠thatās 4. And two of those are recent (way after ecc6).
I donāt agree. I find her fun to play and I think sheās a deep and technical character. Also, I find V-sak mirror matches to be very deep and involve alot of mind games. Iām still learning more techniques and combos everytime i play.
ryu question
c.SP c.FK xx hadouken
c.SP c.RK
c.FK c.FK
are these comboās because sometimes they connect and sometimes they donāt. I donāt use this stuff much only when opponent blocks.
???
ryu vs sak is there a way to win ( donāt say pick someone else )
What are your thoughts on Rolento. . .? of course this is because i love rolento but tell me ur thoughts. cheap or not. . . difficulty to use 1-10. . . favorite ism, etc.
cr. SP, cr. FK, Hadoken
is a combo with Ryu, but the timing is pretty precise with it. As soon as Ryu retracts his fist, you should hit FK, and it should combo. If youāre not confident doing it as a combo, you shouldnāt because if you donāt youāre losing out on an extra hit. Iād imagine that the other two could combo, but to do them consistently is pretty hard.
As for Ryu vs. Sak, Ryu will have a hard time beating Sak. He has no truly effective way of getting in on her, or cornering her (where his VCs do the most damage). Sak can outpoke Ryu for pretty much the entire match on the ground, and if Ryu tries to attack in the air, expect to eat a VC. There really isnāt anything that Ryu can do to effectively shut down Sakās game.
I thought that Arturo played A-Sim and Nibor played V-Cody predominantly.
i totally agree with Temujin, v-sak is fun as hell to play. While maybe Sak vs. Sak is boring to watch for some (i find it very entertaining personally) its one of the most intense matchups in the game for the people playing.
First of all both people are totally afraid to jump in, yet its a viable optionāalthough the sak on the ground has the upper hand there are so many options and possibilites (between counter-activations and early j. roundhouse, and c. fierce air defense). Then, the footsies in this matchup is crazy-- back+fierce and c. roundhouse etc really emphasize poking. Sakura vs sakura matchup is a true test of skill and patience because no one has the upper hand (2p side and 1p side both have their advantages⦠imo it evens out, if anything i prefer 1p for the possibility of extra cced jump fierces but the 2p corner cross up is awsome as well).
So far iāve only been able to play ricky and arturo in this matchup, last time i played temujin i was using v-cody 100% but iām really looking forward to playing him at ecc8⦠on as side note hopefully more than just east coast (10 people? heh) will be there for a3.
I started using sakura in december pretty hardcore, now iām attempting v-ryu (fun, but not as easy heh). In tournaments when it comes to crunch time i find myself using v-sak more and more. Arturo is definately using a-sim a lot lately, but who knows, he sometimes still picks sakura and vega in tournaments (for fun?).
donāt worry there will be some Cali players there this year⦠Dream TR is co-organizing the event along with the 2 midwest championships (nebraska and chicago). Iām going to ECC8 and maybe the chicago one.
Theyāll combo if the first hit is a counter-hit.
yeah, only if it was a counter hit or they stand up into it.
Rolento isnāt what youād call a cheap character. I consider Rolento 9/10 in difficulty in using, since you need to keep moving and thinking and not just stay in one place, so his learning curve is pretty high. But that difficulty also makes him so much fun to play with. He also has a lot of options and does well again anyone.
Heās one of the few that I know that doesnāt really have a counter-character. He doesnāt do well against some characters, but none completely owns him either. Rolento is best in X/A-ism. I prefer A-ism.
Ok I have been playing X adon for a while, but now Iām switching to Vism. What do I do to someone when I have them in the corner, in the air with a VC from rk Jaguar Kicks? If I Rising Jaguar, it seems like they can flip out almost every time, but doing Jaguar kicks get very little hits. Whats the finisher? Also, now that I can control when his close rk comes out, should I use that as AA or should I still try to deep Rising Jaguar? also, are there situations (counter hits etc) where I can activate my VC into a Rising Jaguar and have it hit 100% of the time and not be able to be fliped out of?
Also, like half the time I hit the computer with a jaguar tooth, they can command throw me = not good. But some times I am perfectly safe. I know its all a distance game, but it seems like when the tooth is punishable when it hits, the medium wouldnāt have hit them if I had done it instead. Is there actualy a distance that someone can stand at where forward jaguar tooths wolnt hit, and roundhouse ones will be punishable if they do? Just wondering becuase against most people I seem to be able to RK jaguar tooth with no fear, especialy if it hits, and if they block it i cna throw, c.fk, or rising jaguar.
Alpha 3 Kattobi Cancel on GBA
I am not sure if it has been mentioned on this thread but I have been able to pull off kattobi cancels on the Gameboy Advance version on SFA3. I can do all of them except Guyās and Chin-liās. Anyone else confirm this?
thnx. The counterhit stuff makes sense.
Another question :). How do top players DP vc activation ???
- Are they f***ing fast.??
- Do they expect the activation and DP ( this seems pretty risky to me) ??
there are a couple ways to dp after a vc activationā¦
If you think its coming you can do the motion for dragonpunch right before they activate but donāt press any buttons. Then mash on fierce or whatever button for dragonpunch your character uses after you see that they activated. If you did the motion correctly it should always work
The other method is dping on reaction which takes some practice. When someone activates custom the screen goes dark for a moment (about 22 frames i believe). During this time the game doesnāt accept any commands so donāt do anything. Then the screen lights back up and there are a few frames, like 2 or 3, to safely input the dp before the action starts back up.
hope that helps
V-Sak is a god damn pain in the ass because some of her normal moves has so much FREAKING priority its not even funny. Every sak play i encounter (on Kaillera that is) does is take you to the corner and completley fucks with your head with priority moves and delay Fireballs to fake you out. Also there just waiting for you to jump so they can do there god damn vcās on ya. Man what a bitchā¦
Anyways im learning to play X-Chun-Li and I like her cuz of her great normal moves (what reach!). I like A-Chun but i go for the damage factor so iām learning to play X-Chun. Any tips?
BTW is this some sort of glitch or something!? Look at the insane chip damage of chunās Whirlwind Kick. Damn! Copy/Paste:Click here kawaks replay
nope, not a glitch, X can chip out more damage than A/V. X-chun takes like 5 minutes to learn too to become retardedly annoying. just do crossup,s.fierce,c.rh pattern of death over and over. doesnt sound that bad, but its very annoying. switching it up is good too like skipping the c.rh and going for another crossup. or just crossup into throw and shit like that. oh yeah, SBK fucking owns dhalsim, overhead all day on him with that
I donāt think many people here play V-Adon much. However, I remember him having some corner VC that went something like Rising jaguar, Roundhouse jaguar kick, standing Fierce, roundhouse jaguar tooth, and then you repeat it, or something like thatā¦check the VC thread, or head over to GameFAQs, Iām sure thereās something. He also has a ground corner VC, which I think I listed over in the VCs threadā¦I think. Anyway, itās crouching Forward (brief pause), and then repeat crouching fierce, short jaguar kick until the VC ends. Nice damage, but harder to land since they have to be on the ground and near the corner.
I donāt know about the Jaguar Tooth question for sure, but basically it goes that the higher theyāre hit by the move, the more they have to recover and counter when you land. most 360 throws are sort of an exception, since theyāre almost instantā¦so they may be able to grab you after any version of the tooth. I donāt know how safe it is at the various distances, but I think they can always do a reversal DP and get you before you can get a crouching Forward out, if they have such a move.
