Alpha 3: Q & A

Bleh, I missed them, what were the matches?

Charlie

VC3, c.Short, [Short Flashkick, s.HK, whiff knee] then when opponent is cornered, repeat Roundhouse Flashkicks or crouch cancel mid air throws. (Thanks to Damien Jr)

A lot of Charlie, ironically. Vids from a team tournament.

ā€œcrouch cancel mid air throwsā€ doesn’t work, you know. 1 Throw, maybe, and this can be teched. While I realize that you’re only repeating what someone posted (3 years ago), this is still bit misinformation.

Soldier zero: try this instead, from el_diablo

el_diablo posted a video showing the various methods of landing a crouch cancel series after a VC from different distances from a wall. Try to look for it, but I’m not sure its around anymore.

Need help relating to Xenozip sfa3 tricks vid

This vid shows a lot of stuff, but I can’t get it to work on the saturn. Is the saturn version exactly the same as the arcade one?

Like, I tryed using a comand grab while their on the floor during a cc and it wont work. Any help? Also how the hell does he have the combo counter at 99 hits, when their both on full damage during a vs match?

Also, is there a way to choose the stage in training? Or a glitchy way to do it?

FBA cheat

Whats the fba cheat?

FBA is an emulator.

Can some one answer my question plz? Has the saturn version been tweaked, meaning some stuff can’t be done? Compared to Arcade, dreamcast and ps1.

Regarding your previous question about throwing someone on the floor during a VC (also known as OTG): if you can’t do it, practice. OTGs aren’t bugs and were not removed in all the console versions.

I could say the same for you.

How are you going to activate during an ALL-YOU-CAN?? You can’t. Or do you not remember saying that ALL-YOU-CANs stop Rolento from jumping and flying around? (which they don’t BTW)

Unless you are saying that you are absolutely psychic and can always predict a drop-through VC, and you can DP or counter-VC accordingly… (BTW, you can’t).

If you’re going say a character is ā€œhorribleā€, at least use a decent argument and don’t backstep and conveniently omit or forget what you have said.

No offense BTW… I just like Rolento too much.

Is anybody here on Direct connect and they have Dreamcast roms that I can burn to a CD and play on my Dreamcast?

Not only is this in the wrong forum…

but I believe this is also illegal… (who fucking cares right? i know)

But as well, it is also against forum rules. I don’t think it is tolerated even in the least to be honest.

So, in other words, get that shiat outta here!

Thanks for the Charlie help and thread.

No idea… although I hear it IS the most accurate version (compared to the arcade)

To answer your previous questions, Off-The-Ground (OTG) command grabs can only be performed during VC, and ONLY when the opponent’s back is completely flat on the ground (Not falling, and not getting up… but FLAT).

Also, try doing Ryu infinite on P1 side… not P2. It will do wonders for your success rate.

Not sure how old this combo vid is or if it’s popular, a little over 18 mins long.

Thanks to Darknatas for posting it in the Kaillera site forums. I watched it now cause I recently updated my codecs. :pleased:

I just started to play this game and I think I’m picking X-Sak for a first character, mainly for c.sk x2 s.fp > dp+fp or super. VCs and ccs are the furthest thing from my mind right now. Anyway, Sak’s s.sk reminds me of Jam’s 5K. Can she do pressure with it in a similar way? How about tick throws with it? I’m also having a bitch of a time just pulling off the b&b. Facing left it seems easier. Do you guys buffer the towards motion right when you press the standing attack? Or do you buffer early with a fb motion from the c.sk? If I have a much easier time doing just one c.sk into combo, should I just go for that instead? It seems to work from a longer range since an extra c.sk doesn’t push them away from the standing attack (s.sk whiffs, s.fp will hit). Or is the extra c.sk valuable for hit-detection?

The problem with V-Sak is that her CPS chain doesn’t cover for her problems. And if you’re having so much trouble landing her combo, why not Z-Sak instead since you can basically mash her 4 weak attacks into a super mindlessly easy?

V-sak, even without the VCs (which you stated you don’t like) has a severe upper hand against X-sak, if only for far standing FP->fireball tick. X-Sak simply doesn’t have the range to play the poking game against V-sak – X-sak loses the ground game badly.

It’s not that I don’t like VCs. I’m saying that I don’t want to attempt them yet until I have a grasp of the basics. I’m not even worried about top-level play yet since I JUST started. Jeez. I know X-Sak can’t do V-Sak’s command normals. I know V-Sak kills X-Sak. Who cares? I’m not playing against Ricky Ortiz yet.

I should’ve known that when asking a basic Sakura gameplay question I’d get a response telling me that ā€œX-Sak sux. Learn VCs.ā€ Notice how nowhere in my question did I ask for an opinion on X-Sak. Also notice how my question about her s.sk and her b&b applies to all of Sak’s Isms. I guess I should be saying ā€œI’M NEW HOW DO I DO SAK’S VC!!!1111 WUTS CROUCH CANCELING CUZ I WANNA DO INFINITES!!!11ā€ Where the hell are the old posters who had actual advice to give? Someone wanted help on how to do walk up c.fwd > blue fb with Ryu 100% of the time and Apoc was there to help out. Fuck this. I’ll figure it out on my own.

Anyone have good strats for V-Sodom? I think sodom is my best charater I play in V-ism. Also which is better V-M.Bison and A-M.Bison. I have a 65% CC with v-ism M.Bison without crouch cancelling. It seems like V-M.bison has better priority on his normal attacks and some different kicks in V-ism, but I don’t know which ism suit’s him best. My cabinet needs a new power supply, so I can’t practice right now, but any advice would be welcomed for future matches and tournaments. I know there’s better characters in v-ism, but I like to be different and I haven’t seen to many v-sodoms and v-m.bison’s. I play gief, chun li, rog and sim in A-ism.
