Yeah he seemed too fearful of anti-air vc; favouring slides exclusively over jumps ins or fierce bushin elbow drops. But surely guy needs to be more unpredictable and agressive than that?

Guy’s crouching Roundhouse is hard for Charlie to beat, so Guy gets to abuse it a lot (Charlie can do crouching Strong, but he has to do it early, and if his timing is off too much he gets hit…and it opens him up to be hit by a Forward hurricane kick). Charlie is, however, pretty good at keeping Guy out. What Shinya looked like he was trying to do, was just play carefully and win the match in pieces, because too much offense is risky, assuming you can get it.

What I was more dissapointed by was the lack of canceling…crouching Jab, if he VCs through cancel to hurricane kick (or super, but that’s a little harder). IIRC he had two opportunities to bait the VC but didn’t follow through with anything (but hindsight is 20/20, I guess). Anyway, I haven’t seen the match since it was uploaded, but Shinya may have been trying to save his meter for alpha counters for momentum purpoes, as I’ve seen that done before…he did have a chance to super vs whiffed VC activation, I think…

Hey TS I noticed you talked about baiting your opponent to VC. How does one go about this?

Also any info on how to handle V-Sak with A-Guy? Since if i jump bam vc. I’m guessing poke her to death?

Baiting activation is sort of the same principal as baiting anit-air…you have a move, you know they want to do it, so give them a chance to. When they’re getting up after being knocked down being the easiest one to see.

The actual excecution can get tricky, depending on the character. But, for example with Ryu vs Sodom, Sodom is getting up after a sweep, you do a crouching Forward, and if he activates V-ISM you cancel into a fierce Shoryuken. The actual command is towards, d+FK, and then wait (it’s not like Sodom can reversal DP without super anyway, so this is fairly safe). If he activates you do d/f+FP, if not, you don’t. Can be done with supers also, naturally… I actually have some old matches on tape from NorCal Regionals 1 where Alex Valle was doing it to people in casual with Gen’s ToD super… :confused: And by ā€œpeople,ā€ I mean ā€œTS.ā€ And he wouldn’t always cancel a normal, either, he’d just do it on reaction. That can be slightly more demanding (ie trying to cancel Guy’s crouching SP into a super without accidentally getting the flip or the dash, or also reacting with the right super if they should do something that lifts them off of the ground after they activate).

But, of course, they can just NOT activate, or you could go for a throw instead, or you can walk up and do nothing, and 89 times out of 100 that will give you enough time to activate or super, etc if they activate V-ISM. Or do unsafe things to exploit the fact that they weren’t willing to burn the meter yet, or thought you might be trying to bait them.

Also I noticed in the vid Shinya could of canceled into the Bushin(sp?) chain but didn’t. Due to pressure right?

I have a question about Adon.
Can you air recover after is short Rising Jaguar? I only have emulator where I cannot set the computer to safe fall, and the DC version where a lot of adons stuff doesn’t seem to work period (I don’t know why, but I can’t seem to get repeated Jaguar Kicks to combo, and I know thats his VC.)

I was wondering this because the computer NEVER safe falls after a SK Rising Jaguar, so in the corner I can do whatever into Rising Jaguar, s.Sk, RK Rising Jaguar. It dawned on me that if you can’t air recover there, you could just do a VC instead. I tried it, and it works on the computer in the arcade version, but I was just wondering if a human can test if you can air recover there, because I know I am going into a nuetral state, and thats supposed to mean they can air recover.

Training mode safefall doen’t always work… I don’t know why.

Yeah. There’s a neutral state/recovery time- a point where you can’t do anything, and that’s when they can Air Recover. If you’re doing it as a VC it works (assuming you get it to connect right), because you can cancel that recovery time.

You can still do the VC, you just have to wait and see if they choose to air recover, and then VC anyway. Or, make them block something and then fall on a normal- ie, they flip, you do (VC2) standing Strong xx Forward Rising Jaguar. If they air block they land on the standing Strong (which is a normal move, so it breaks their guard because it can’t be air blocked), and you combo on- if not, you can just continue the juggle anyway. This is assuming they haven’t been juggled yet, since the juggle limiter in the corner only allows for one air-recovery/juggle sequence.

That combo probably doesn’t work, but I was using it as an example.

this Player (V-Vega) is one of the Best Player on Kailleria (On the Servers i Play).
For now im Trainin my V-Vega and its Loosi so far :xeye: :tdown:

By the Way for me Vega is The coolest SF ever! (and He is not Gay! not Gay!)

I have started playing on this game again and i’ve started using v-ism Rolento. Do you think I’ve made a good choice to learn him? Any tips, strats will help me out a lot, thanks.

Rolento is very Mighty
He is one of The fastest Chars, and With his Moves he can Fly from One Side to another, Jump Over youa and so on…
V Rolento is a good Char, but i wouldnt use him at the Begining, cause he is not easy to Master.
If i Just started to Play again, i would learn first (if you like Vism)Chars like V-Ryu/Ken/Charlie/Sakura

Im currently playing with V-cody right now…I read Nibor’s V-cody notes and its really working like a charm.

I can somehow CC inf with him on kaillera… damn, even i was suprised.

Now im playing this game again, I think the shoto’s play horibly. Kinda what got me using rolento. One nice thing I’ve been doing is when the cpu tech’s my throws, I use his d,d/f,f x2+p. I find the timing just perfect to catch them with it. Is it lagit? I mean, will it work in a real match, cuz you know what the cpu’s like?

Yes, and then Rolento activates VC through your ALL-YOU-CAN and you eat 70%+ custom combo that builds his meter back up (possible infinite).

Rolento is good (V is not his worst). His mix-up game is good. His Kattobi cancel is not…

What is a kotabi cancel?

I’ve just been experimenting with ryu’s jump cancel using the hop kick set up, and find that after a few juggles with strong he crosses up. What’s going on? Any pointers?

I’ve fought against an X-Chun who headstomped me and then canceled that into her cross-up jumping short… making it very confusing which way to block. However, I’ve never been able to reproduce the same results with my (A-)Chun. Is this a X-Chun specific ability? And how exactly do you it? It seemed that he was headstomping me on his way up jumping, but was able to cancel the upwards trajectory of her jump into a downwards cross-up.

LOL… If I see anybody jump in empty and activate what do you think I’ll do? Activate . Quit being a scrub and use your head :tdown:

I’m trying to get V-Charlie better, mostly his corner combo consisting of a light somesault then double fierce. Any tips?
