i like how luuwat rhymes with twat, got to love subjective opinions backed up with facts next time you feel like posting don’t bother. hit the back button to go back to gamefaqs.
MJ, yeah not the best guy but its all fun. thats my mate Arcade@home who came over for some bud and vs. I wanted to use him as a human guniea pig for my infinite set-up. And i’m pissed to learn that my timing isn’t good enough and he was able to escape.
If anything i have me fluffling the set-up so at least i can figure out whats going wrong. i know i need my inifinite from my ground and air VC’s down to stand a chance. back to the drawing board.
giving up online has been good for me, so much easier to learn timing when it’s not changing all the time thanks to lag.
Sub, guess what??? After you sent me those videos this morning (thank you very much), I’ve been practising, and I can now perform Vega’s infinite!!!
BTW, I had to do this in win98, with my old pad, because the new win2000 pad is so shit for charging, but I can do dragon punches easy, so it’s a toss up between the two!
Second replay = 24 hits as part of my special roll combo, which I invented myself!
Sub, although my special combo is weak, you know it works, sub! Actually, nobody has ever broken out of it, so it must be guaranteed. However, I just use it for showing off because the damage is so crap…
thanks for posting, your replay was worth watching. your cody > my cody. some good ideas that i might have to borrow. i remember playing that cody late one night when i visited retronation. remember getting banged up.
hey you fancy a score challenge? I’m playing a lot of vs. cpu to get my offline timing down. i’ll make a replay or take a screenshot. best of three rounds, expert (lol), and default everything else. I think i can push 2 million.
Nice work Sabre! It’s nice to see the little extra things people have innovated with Cody, I’d fear to see what would happen if your VC’s were back up to 100%!
Hey maybe we should just put together a SFA3 Highscore thread with replays as supporting proof, that’d be a nice way of giving new players tips and strats vs the CPU.
I went to the arcade yesterday and demolished the CPU with my A-Cody, I think I’ve gotten too used to expert mode, the machine is set to 5 rounds so I finished with 3,800,000 or so.
thanx for the props guys. trying to get a little scene going for this game again in my area. first time i really tried playing the game in months ill try and play another one… maybe do some other characters…my experience vs the cpu is very shitty. i lose a lot to expert cpu heh. dont know the tricks at all
The problem with playing the CPU alot and finding AI holes is that it tends to make you a bit lazy, try and keep from baiting the CPU into predictable patterns otherwise when you play RL opponents sometimes your conditioned response vs the cpu doesnt work.
Basically a rule of thumb is poke alot to keep the CPU out of inside sweep range since it just detects your button presses and super/throw/combos you way faster than you can react.
yeah i know what you’re saying. playing the cpu is shit. all i can really practice is my timing and consistency. thing is i’m hoping to blag this absolution tourney with the unflipable set-up and infinite. think i’m becoming ok at guessing when a poke is coming and VC countering.
anyway here’s my score: 2,170,0400
I lost a round to guy and fluffled my complete bonus, so i know i can beat it. throw in a few more perfects too. think maybe 2,250,000 is attainable. damn X-chun nearly took it away from me, just had to chill and throw stones.
this is a pic and replay. if you watch it, i’d recommend ALT-T, then restarting kawaks after viewing.
sub
edit: in fact i insist you watch this replay in turbo mode, lol.
That time bonus also multiplies your score normally doesn’t it? Not just when you get perfects. You also get bonuses for first attack, throw techs, combos, counters. Basically if something shows up on the screen like Counter or 12 Hit Combo you get a bonus.
For every two player win your score increases by 1 point, for every single player continue your score increases by 1.
I just wish that ‘For matching service’ site was still up, it kept a record of all the highscores on DC in japan, the highest was X-ism Rose at 9,999,999 I think.
That was good eventhough you missed a lot. I notice you always space yourself correctly for the FP > jab Tornado. And somehow it seems as if cody’s normals are better when you use them. Most of the time when I use him shit doesn’t connect or i can’t get in close enough.
I play a little cody too lol. I basically started messing with him when I learned how to crouch cancel ( cody has some sweet crouch cancels ) My ground game is shit though and I haven’t played a single match versus a human offline or online. I try to play a little bit like you guys but sometimes I have to whore the f+RH
I made a replay of me playing cody at my university . Plz no laughing . I loose a lot of matches !! cpu chun and gief own my for free
Damn gief . I continued playing and it took like over ten tries to beat him. Only vc I can do with cody is his vc cc , In theory I should be able to do Fp > jab tornado’s too since it kinda like the shoto’s. His guard crush I think I can do but it’s very hard to do that on the cpu . I think right now a-cody is my best though becuase I can mess around with supers
Anyways I think I’m gonna learn some cody vc’s and fuck gief up.
In the next replay I continue fighting gief with communist cody.
OMG, that Birdie replay was wicked!!! Those OTG blue screen finishes are stunning! The best bit was when you threw the opponent behind you, into the corner, and finished with a 9-hit juggle. Also, the 10-hit corner juggle you performed TWICE on the boss! Amazing! I never knew Birdie could do that! Impressive stuff!! Thanks!
