Discuss all there is to discuss about team construction and strategy with Peacock! Assists, DHC’s, alpha counters, team line-up and countering other team strategies!

Well i’m pretty new so I don’t know how accurate this may be but, I run Peacock/Parasoul. So far I think it’s a good team set up. Peacock is given a get off me option and they can dhc into each other pretty safely. I don’t really know what kind of assist to use for Peacock to help out Parasoul when she’s on point.

I use throw to assist Parasoul, but I’m also trying out Peacock/Cerebella because cerecopter assist is so good and I like the bomb dhc set up.

I want to run a peacock/bella team, but for me its weird to run. I haven’t figured out who is point and gets beat use out of the assist and the meter.

Double’s HK Hornet Bomber is IMHO the best assist option to go with for Peacock. Parasoul’s Napalm is also a good option but Double is simply better.

Opponent gets hit with HK Hornet Bomber and they are all the way back at the other end of the screen.
You can follow it up with Peacock’s super if it hits.
It works amazingly as a “Get off me” assist.
You can use it even when the opponent is full screen and follow it up with Bang! Bang! Bang! or just drop your item on the opponent to keep Double safe from punishment.

Honestly - it’s pretty crazy. Be warned though - pick Peacock/Double as your team and be prepared for lots of salty people calling you cheap. :slight_smile:

I don’t really like Double as a character and her performance on point. Plus even though I play Peacock it’s not like I love to do pure zoning. My team is supposed to be a decent mix.

I run Peacock/Fortune and while I won’t try to say it’s the best team out there or anything (cause I don’t really know), the c. HP assist seems to work well enough for Peacock, covering the 45 degree angle rather nicely.

Been running a Peacock/Cerebella team.

Cerecopter seems good on so many levels, it’s pretty safe if used right, it’s an effective way to shut someone out since it flings them so far. If it connects, it’s a combo for Peacock, she just needs to jump in there with a chainsaw and once she’s in she can either combo or go for a reset grab to a super. If it’s blocked and you’re at a distance, it gives you time to cover Cerebella, set up George’s day out, item drop and chip them from afar.

I run Peacock/Valentine. I was using Mortuary drop as my assist, because it was great at psyching people out and punishing people who just stand still and block Item drop, but once the foe learns it, it doesn’t work anymore.

I am thinking of going with HK Savage Bypass. I was thinking that a very fast, full screen normal would help Peacock in both her zoning as well as her rushdown. Comes out very fast, and since it knocks down it can stop some other people trying to charge in. Sure Valentine get get punished, but if they punish her, you can quickly punish them with Item drop or Garbage day.

At least, this is all in theory, since I have yet to try it, but since I use the move as Valentine a lot, i know how it works. Shame it doesn’t hit low, but it does do a long range OTG, which may help you combo into super, or more Garbage day.

I run Peacock/Filia/Painwheel

Filia on Updo assist and Painwheel on c.mp

If Filia hits, it’s a free hard knockdown you can get an easy HP-bangbangbang-super or just a raw super. Works kinda like cyclops assist w/Cable.

If they get too close, you can poke them and call out painwheel to lock them out while you either teleport out or air dash over them to safety.

Filia also gets big help from painwheel’s assist, as it prolongs blockstun quite a bit for more mixup potential.

Btw I use George at air show for peacock’s assist and it works really well for Filia.

But yeah, I’ve been having fun OCVing with Peacock. Filia’a anti air comes out of nowhere unlike the popular double assist that telegraphs itself from full screen. I really don’t know how people get hit by that assist so much.

I play Peacock/Double and I mash on Double assist while spamming everything I can with Peacock to crank out wins. However If I lose Peacock the game might as well be over. I know some Double combos but I have no idea how to get hits with her aside from j. HP (which is good but rarely hitconfirms well) and doing cat head super, so as of now my team pretty much depends on Peacock OCVing, which happens quite a lot however. I am thinking of adding a 3rd character (either Parasoul or Cerrebella) though.

Also, has anyone used Peacock’s QCF+LP as an assist? I think it could do well since it has invincibility frames up until the hit, so that way when I get rushed down as Double I have an assist I can use. It’s risky since they can still get hit out of it, but it could be good.

I run Peacock/Parasoul. I try my best with Peacock to run away and just fill the screen with projectiles and item drops. If they get near or try to jump in, I use Parasoul’s Napalm pillar to keep them at bay. So far, I’ve had pretty good success. I’m not the best with their combos yet so most of my damage comes from Peacock’s projectiles and chip damage.

This. Peacock and Parasoul are BFFs just like Wolvie and Akuma.

I feel like her HP Item Drop is her best assist at this point honestly. Especially if you need to create an opening midscreen. Since it pretty much bypasses most anti-projectile stuff, it can really help create an opening for Painwheel/Filia to rush in.

Besides, why wouldn’t you want a nearly instant projectile that drop vertically and tracks onto people? It’s basically a one hit doom missile, what’s not to love?

Because George at the Air Show+Napalm Shot covers everything.

Peacock has no clear best assist, it depends on which character you are assisting.

I think I’m going to run Peacock/Cerebella, I would use parasoul but…ew charge XD

I was thinking about Cere’s AA-grab being a useful assist for dealing with jump ins. Anyone know how fast it is or if cerecopter is the better option :L

As for peacock assists, It’s essentially about providing some crap to go on the screen, Any of the georges make for a good assist

You definitely want the anti-air grab, it covers Peacock’s one real blind spot. Cerecopter isn’t useful for her due to the lack of invincibility and the fact that you don’t really need close range lock down. I’d recommend picking up Double/Filia/Ms. Fortune as a third just because you might find yourself stuck in a corner unable to do the grab assist if you really don’t like Parasoul.

That’s basically where I am right now. I run the Paracock too. I personally don’t like her HP item drop as an assist. If I could charge it then yes, but at least with me when I use it it never hits the opponent they always manage to airdash right by it

You must be tripping Anti-air grab is ok but Cerecopter gives you both anti-air, does multiple hits so you can easily combo off it at close range, does chip damage if blocked, seems like it sucks opponents in, and if it hits sends the opponent back to the other side of the screen.

My team is Peacock/Bella/Valentine.

Kind of risky going for a 3’s team but, this team seems pretty solid so far.
Can’t stop using HP item drop, for Bella/Valentine it’s a great assist.

Not sure how you guys manage it, but i can never get Bella to go for AA grab assist. The inputs always read Diamond drop (ground command grab). But inputting cerecopter is ALWAYS cerecopter. Go figure.

Still not sure on a valentine assist. Currently using mortuary drop, but someone mentioned savage bypass and I may give that a shot. Plus Valentine anchor with 5 bars guarantees a resurrected Peacock for my ‘pissed off’ opponent. <3 Peacock

Thinking about expanding my team by using Peacock. I’m running Cerebella/Peacock/Ms. Fortune.
I’m not sure if I should run a projectile for Peacock or item drop.
