All About Makoto / Read this first

If its help to anyone at all, the easiest way I’ve found to land the HP after karakusa is to wait intill you see your opponets feet slide back once Makoto puts them down. When I look for this cue I’m about 6/10 on landing the HP; which is a great improvement considering I couldn’t even hit it before.

Also, would anyone mind going a little bit more in depth for SJCing? Like how to do it?

Here’s a ghetto-tastic trick. Anywhere from Makoto’s corner to about 3/4 across the screen, she can combo her SA2 off a strong Overheadchop (on a crouching opponent).

another fact is that if u land an EX chop that doesnt knock an opponent down right away, you can combo SA2 anywhere from the screen

How would an EX chop not knock down on hit though? Besides being blocked of course.

if it hits limbs, it doesn’t knock down, and you can combo her SA2 off it. One example is hitting Necro’s limbs with it…it hits him from far away but doesn’t knock him down…just creates a lot of hit stun.

Does any1 have any tips for doing a kara-karakusa. I can get it to come out like 20% of the time. I tryed doing LK then imeadiately do HCB and then press LK again. Very rarely do I get consistent results. I even tryed negative edgeing the last LK. Is there any tips that I should keep in mind while i’m trying to pull it off?

Also does any1 know where I can get some good match vids of Makoto?, and who are the top Makoto playas out there?

I believe that the best way to kara it is to input lk right before you do HCB + K (btw, if you’re gonna kara it, you may as well use RK to get extra range, otherwise it’s sorta pointless to kara). What I mean is, make it a part of the motion, so that you don’t wait for it to come out. Ideally, you should BARELY see her stick out her knee before you finish inputting the rest of the command.

I don’t really have any other advice… sorry.

As for good Makoto players, J seems good, as does Sextaro… those are the only two that stick out in my mind. I think http://www.Godweapon.net has some good match vids… look up Shirube at that site to find some vids.

On a completely unrelated topic, Mak’s fierce fukiage either beats/trades w/ Dudley’s Corkscrew blow (at the right ranges).

Yesterday I reversed chun-li’s b+fierce with eX fukiage on wakeup:wow: . Can anyone confirm this??

:tup: well sometimes that happens but it isnt often ex fukiage has alot of range on it so its possible that you went under it when it happened and hit chun li while that move was out. but that seems rather rare. when did you start playing makoto man? oh and talk to me on aim i have makoto matches for you :tup:

I had the same problem. I have to rely on parrying >cr.short or cr. strong>hayate. Then mixup from there. Parrying is your friend when it comes to over aggressive characters. So parry her attack into karakusa,super,or hayate…whichever you see fit. Even if your not that good at parrying , if she is “very” aggresive your bond to catch a parry. The key is to make good use of it. Once you get the momentum in your favor ume that bitch till she dies.

EX Fukiage literally beats (or at least trades) almost everything she does. If you wakeup with it, the only options Elena would really have would be low short, her breakdance move(??), or throw - it eats up Rhino Horns, Scratch Wheels and command overheads. Other than the usual parry xx grab, ducking strong and ducking mk should get you out of a lot of trouble. Her back+rh is annoying as hell but if you just wait a second you can get in on her when she whiffs it.

here are some random combos/tips I didn’t see:

SA1 combos (mixup required!):

mixup into overhead jab oroshi xx SA1 (hit confirm!)
mixup RH kara-UOH xx SA1 (can also hit confirm but gotta be fast)

Also, regarding EX oroshi into SA2, it’s only really usable against Hugo. I actually use it with full stun combo (only does about 90% on hugo iirc).

Someone brought up something about hitting EX oroshi on one of necro’s limbs. This is actually usable against other characters. If someone is throwing out predictable pokes, you can actually EX oroshi the limb and leave them in enough hit stun to land a EX hayate! It’s something you probably have never seen a makoto player use. Mainly because most of them don’t even know about it :\
